Junto is a great wine experience. The folks there are very nice, service is excellent and the wine is definitely some of the best Nebraska has to offer. Wine wine and more wine! This place was recommended by my cousin in law and had enough space for a large group of us to go and comfortably seat us all. They also have snacks that are good accompaniments to the wine. We got a couple different meat and cheese plates and some pretzels. There was plenty of room. They have wine tastings and then of course you can buy wine by the glass or bottle. read more

Junto is a cozy, romantic atmosphere that boasts of fall scents both inside and outside. The location allows for solo dining or group affairs; the fireplace and books make for an inviting place to calm down with a quiet book. I got 5 wine tastings for $6, a meat and cheese board, pretzels and dip, and two bottles of wine. We went around noon on Friday and had the place mostly to ourselves with a few others mingling in and out. Would definitely come back! read more

I gotta say, I was surprised by this winery! It's Nebraska, so I wasn't expecting anything fantastic in terms of the actual wine selections we tasted on our whirlwind tasting tour in the Lincoln area. Junto was first on our stop list, and it was fantastic! So much so that other local area wineries paled in comparison. When you arrive, the tasting room is really something special - beautifully constructed with a relaxed ambiance. They had a fire going so we could sip wine and read a book. Loved everything about the decor and vibe. Then the fine - I sampled some white and some red. I was impressed with the blends produced here - they are really working grapes in an old world style way, vibrant enough to be drinkable now, but several selections I could see cellaring well too. My favorites were the C-Note white and the Craven Red. Both well balanced and food friendly. We ended up leaving with a few bottles as well. If you are in the area, you really should check this place out. It's *real* wine - not the semi-sweet shill stuff that many of the other local places are pouring. read more

After just a half-mile of gravel, you arrive atop a hill and see the entrance to Junto Wines. The tasting room is separate from a sizable event center. Trails allow you to wander the property if you wish. Indoor space is modern and clean, and there is plenty of multi-level outdoor space with a music venue for entertainment on occasion. Our wines were interesting and tasty, and the outdoor settings allowed us to keep a generous distance in these virus-heavy times. A great getaway for an afternoon or evening. read more

first, this place is absolutely gorgeous. the rows and rows of vines are beautiful to look at as your sipping your wine. came in on a saturday afternoon and loved both the indoor and outdoor seating options. it wasn't to busy either but started to pick up right before we left. their tastings are a heck of a deal (5 for $6 or 3 for $4) i tried 5 white wines and they were all really delicious. the pourers are very knowledgeable and will help you find a wine you really like. perfect summer activity if you have family visiting or are with a group of friends. highly recommend! read more

We had a memorial service for my husband at Junto Winery. The setting was absolutely beautiful. Working with the owners was great--they were accommodating and helpful throughout. We were there on a weekday and had a good rate plus we had the place to ourselves. I would recommend this venue highly. read more

Lovely location and great wine! But the meat and cheese tray left something to be desired - quartered white sandwich bread from the grocery store doesn't cut it especially when you've got great bakeries nearby in Lincoln and Ashland. read more

We had noticed the sign while driving through the area the previous week. Passing through the area again on July 3rd we decided to stop in for a tasting and were pleasently surprised. The name of the winery (Junto) is the name of a club that Benjamin Franklin started (Google it). The tasting room is beautiful as are the grounds. We both did a tasting with the owners sister and all the wines we tried were great! The wines like the wineries name all play off of the Benjamin Franklin theme. Even the wine glasses do, they have spectacles on them! We then had a glass of wine with a meat & cheese plate out on the deck. After that we followed the trail down to the garden area for another nice surprise. In the garden area there is a small pond, benches, a fire ring and other nice landscaped paths and other details! We purchased a couple of bottles and the glasses. They also have an outdooor stage area where they have music some evenings. Very glad we stopped and I'm sure we will stop in again. Well worth the trip to check out. read more

I am so excited about this place - First of all, if you enjoy wine (even a little bit), I suggest taking a day trip doing tastings at the many wineries around the Lincoln metro. I've found that each region of the US has a unique wine culture and Nebraska is no different. I've been visiting Nebraska wineries in the area for over a year and I am so happy about the newest area winery: Junto! The location is awesome. The vines grow alongside the building which houses the tasting room and a library. The setting is beautiful, including a short wooded path to a unique outdoor area with some benches, a tree swing, and a little pond complete with lily pads and tadpoles. It's a nice little escape for the afternoon. I love the concept of the winery. The Junto was Benjamin Franklin's wine club and the wines follow this theme (like "Pour Richard," a Lacrosse-based white blend named, obviously, for the Poor Richard's Almanac). One of the typical comments about Nebraska wine is the sweetness of the grape varietals that grow here. If you find Nebraska wine too sweet, I'd suggest a visit here to try some of the local varietals with no added sugar. We picked up a bottle of Armonica after our tasting because it was a more nuanced sweet wine...very different for the region. The library is a unique addition, especially with how well the idea goes with the theme of the place. All of the books are available for your perusal and members of their own Junto wine club can check books out. For me, the library is an welcoming, inviting presence. It makes you feel like you are allowed to enjoy some wine, read a bit, stay awhile. It's not hurried...and that's perfect for a relaxing visit. The staff is very nice and welcoming too. Wine. Gardens. Library! I love this clever, inviting place. It is worth a visit. read more

This is such a lovely location, both inside and out. The space is hip and trendy and the glasses are very cool. Our server was friendly and, having brought our kids, I always appreciate the patience. There's a path to a small garden/pond that the kids explored. Only 4 stars as the wine tasting was a bit more money than typical and the wine was good, not great. Still very worthy of a visit. read more

History

Established in 2012.

In 1727, at the age of only 21 years old, Benjamin Franklin formed a club called Junto ('Juhn-Toe') w/ several acquaintances of a variety of occupations, interests & beliefs. The group was formed in the interest of mutual improvement for each member, as well as for the benefit of the community as a whole. They gathered on Friday's, drank wine, & discussed a variety of topics ranging from Self-Improvement to Politics to Philosophy. But it wasn't just for socializing. From ideas fostered in their meetings Ben went on to help found the University of PA, the first lending library in the colonies, & the first voluntary fire-department in Philadelphia, among other things. We invite you to join us at the Junto where we encourage guests to enjoy good wine & good company. We also have a library, a large garden & a modern tasting room facility w/ spectacular views of the surrounding vineyard & the rolling Garland Hills.
