Sure good beer we having now. Mine a dark. B having a lighter version. Do not see any food potentials. Nice setting industrial area. Several rooms available with good seating and one in a wooden keg storage unit. We like and are not regulars into most breweries unless they have house made food options. Those who have are usually very good food. Our brewery testing in Lincoln is only to burn up some time as we overnight during barrel racing events here. read more

Neat place. Casual and friendly staff. My only complaint is that they advertised their 'Orange Julius' drink as gluten free because it is made with spelt. I had one and had a raging headache within 15 minutes. Spelt is NOT gluten free. My fault I got sick because I should have done my own research before trusting their GF rating. Their fault for listing it as gf when it is not. It was tasty though. read more

Another fun brewery experience from a city I don't normally associate many brewery experiences with and is not what it's known for. White Elm Brewing gave us a very pleasant round with one of their beers. The ¡Champurrado! , an imperial stout gave us an excellent craft beer experience! The flavor features in this are simply wonderful! The cinnamon, chocolate and vanilla highlights are so delightful and decadent. The cinnamon is the more dominating feature which I'm glad to see because I love cinnamon and often feels like it gets sidelined and subdued to almost an unnoticeable feature with some beers so I just love seeing this change! Really cool little spot in Omaha. They have a creative menu of beers, often with little spins you might not expect. They do a great job with their barrel aging program and they will likely have something on their list that will appeal to any beer drinker. But when I have friends in town or another excuse to get out of the house, this is a place I really like to visit. Don't be deceived by the less than enticing strip mall location, this is a great spot with a fun ambience. First off, I found the space very appealing upon entering. The tall ceilings, dark grey wall colors, and mixture of tile and wood adornments make the atmosphere very unique and inviting. Secondly, the staff were very friendly, helpful, and informative. We immediately felt welcomed and supported in our beverage decision making process. Thirdly, the beers are the best, most flavorful, and unique, that I've had so far in Lincoln. I especially enjoyed the 'Biere De Garde' hearty saison. The 'Hibiscus Farmhouse' was my second favorite. Finally, the prices are reasonable, they have to-go growler options, and yummy table Chex snacks. This brewery is a little difficult to find/access, but please don't let that stop you. The bartender was absolutely rude when I came to order a beer. I had my mask on, fully covering my mouth and nose, but they apparently felt it wasn't fully covering my nose enough and wouldn't serve me. My question to you is what is appropriate then... Each of your bartenders can't make or have their own standards. As a brewery, you should have one standard. If you are going to hire people like that I don't know if I will support you as a brewery any longer. read more

My first exposure to White Elm's products was the LNK Common, which is very good. So, upon my arrival at their taproom I was disappointed not to see it on tap. This is in spite of their website indicating that it is available year round. I did have the Inverted Citra double IPA. It has very nice appearance, but the flavor is kind of uninspiring. The next beer I had was their Saison, which was good, but doesn't represent the style well. White Elm suffers from the same problem so many craft breweries suffer from. They try to do complex and advanced beers (Belgians, Barrel Aged, Flavored, etc.), when what they need to is focus on the fundamentals. Start off by making an excellent basic ale and go from there. You've got to walk before you can run. read more

Trying new breweries is one of my favorite things and I love that lincoln keeps getting more and more of them! We are fortunate enough that white elm is within walking distance of our house, so I've been wanting to try them out since I discovered this. I'll admit the location could be tricky to find if you don't know the area. They are right off of van dorn street before you hit 9th street in a strip mall. Upon entering, I loved the decor and what they have done with the inside. There are some tables, bar seating, as well as some couch seating. I also spotted some board games for customer use. There is a mural of a white elm tree that spans the main area, which the bartender informed us a local tattoo place completed for them. They had 12 beers on tap, one being a guest tap. Overall, great variety I would say. My husband got the IPA flight and I got beers 5-8, which consisted of the grisette, a saison, hibiscus farmhouse, and something else I can't remember. My favorites were the double IPA, the grisette, and the hibiscus. The double IPA was strong but still smooth and flavorful. The grisette was lighter and refreshing. The hibiscus was similar to other ones I've tried, but I am a huge fan of hibiscus beer in general. Prices are fair and reasonable. $8 for a flight (4 beers) or $2 for each 4oz. sample. Most full size beers were around $4-4.25 for 16oz with the exception of a couple of the Stronger ones being $6. We also tried a bourbon barrel coffee stout, which was very unique and interesting. I enjoyed the flavor but couldn't have drank an entire one by myself but my husband loved it. The bartender was very conversational and we enjoyed discussing the lincoln craft beer scene with her. We came late on a Friday night so towards the last hour we had the place to ourselves. We will be back for sure!!! Give white elm a try. read more

Stopped in last night for a couple of drinks. The interior is simply decorated and comfortable/cozy We sat at the bar and there were a good amount of tables for larger parties all around. We tried the IPA and saison. As for the taste: the beers were typical nothing special about them that would make me come back just for them. The bartender also took about 10 minutes to come serve us. I'll be back to try some more beers and because I like supporting new and local places. We'll see how the second visit goes. read more

Beer's good, we had a small flight of the lighter beers, and an apricot beer. Service was a bit lackluster so we just had our flight and left. Didn't take any home with us, sometimes a bit of customer care goes a long way in making a sale. Stopped here a few times and the beer is generally good. Lincoln Common was a great beer but it has since been displaced by trendy stuff and mediocre ipas. The Imperial Stout is a bit too sweet for my taste. Get The Porter! Hopefully this is just a growing pain phase and they'll get back to making real beer after the holidays. read more
