My three older children have been extremely well prepared for their elementary school careers. I have been told by teachers and administrators at the local elementary school that the children coming in from the Lake Co-Op Preschool are better prepared than any other children. In addition to a great education for 2, 3 & 4 year olds the kids also make great friends. As a parent I have also met and made great lifelong friends. We are definitely a community as well as a school.

They called CPS about my granddaughter over a mark on her foot that she's had since birth that we had photos have from the day she was born. We had to travel to UVA on a Friday evening to meet with a forensic team because they said she was being abused. The forensic nurse examined her and quickly concluded there was no evidence of ANY type of abuse. The one scratch on her she got at the daycare during an episode in the bathroom. I walked into the daycare and could hear her screaming in the entryway. I stayed outside the classroom because I thought they should handle it. Two days later we get a call from CPS. We met with the director the following Monday and she said she has no knowledge of any issues with our girl and had no reports of behavioral issues. When we went to get her things the teacher would not even make eye contact with us. Then two months later we hear that another parent had the same exact experience with CPS being called. Just beware if they don't want to deal with your child they will find a way to not have to. Oh and to top it off the had the nerve to bill us for the week that we took her out of daycare because THEY called CPS and we removed her from the school. ***updated**** Thank you for your response. The accusations of abuse were found to be incorrect and unfounded. We are in the process of getting the information of who reported so that we can take the necessary next steps. So your training in recognizing abuse needs to be retrained. And when someone tells you something is a birth mark AND they can show you photos from birth maybe your "staff" should take a look at the evidence before putting a family through these unnecessary steps. You also should train your staff on bruising on different ethnicities. This child attended your daycare for a year and a half and then all of a sudden she's abused. I walked into the daycare hearing my granddaughter screaming and she leaves with a scratch she didn't have. Not to mention she was injured while in your staff's care please review your records regarding that. I also wish you the best of luck. I would never recommend your daycare to anyone else as I would not want them to go through what our family did. We will send you a copy of the report so that you can show your "staff" that they made an error in judgement.

The woman who gave me the tour told me that she used to attend Learn N Play and now worked there..that was a sign..if someone loved it that much, it had to be a great place. My 2 year old went through the 2s, 3s, 4s graduated and now still goes back throughout the week in the school agers class and he loves going there. My youngest started going at 6 weeks old and he is now 3 years old. The teachers are amazing, the staff is wonderful and I feel at ease knowing that my children are someplace safe while I am at work. I recommend this place to anyone I know with young children needing a new daycare.
