I love JustB Yoga! I started going about three months ago because I missed the yoga classes I'd taken out east. There's just something about the vibe you get at donation-based studios. I'd been to one in Portsmouth, NH, and the welcoming atmosphere at JustB is incredible. I don't ever feel like I have to compete, I don't ever feel like it's about anyone else's practice, it's just about focusing on what I can and want to try to do -- and it is this that makes me feel able to better support the entire room's effort. The studio's outreach to the community is fabulous, making this wonderful mind, body and soul practice accessible to the wider community. It's incredibly important to bring movement and health to the greater LoveLansing community. JustB seeks to meet this need, not just to cater to those already interested in or obsessed with yoga. :) I'm so excited to see what happens in the new expansion! read more

I am so happy I found this place! This is an great little studio that sits in REO town. There is a variety classes with awesome teachers. The first thing I noticed when walking in was how welcome I feel. I am encouraged by the teachers to work at my own level, however it is made clear that they belive in the ability of each student. This has encouraged me to challenge myself and develop more self confidence each time I attend a class, The donation based policy is wonderful. I have had gym memberships come and go and gotten into fitness programs that fall by the wayside when finances get tight, This is something I know I can count on no matter what. Give extra when I can but still welcome when I cant.... Just B Yoga is a gem of a studio just off of Washington Ave. I came to the studio via Hilltop Yoga. Easy to find, plenty of parking, and a warm and welcoming environment, B provides an incredible service to the city of Lansing. She makes the classes accessible to all levels of students and encourages everyone to find their unique practice. The community I experienced was full of vibrant people be-bopping to the music while B led us through asanas. Belinda (a.k.a., "B") fills a much needed gap in the Greater Lansing Area by providing affordable Yoga classes to persons of all identities. While many studios talk a good game about Karma Yoga, B incarnates it. Also something I particularly enjoyed with her classes was the diversity of ethnicity usually not found in other studios & fitness centers. Sadly Yoga is still much of a white girl thing, but B has made great strides in undoing this unintentional obstacle. She has also made attempts to bridge out to different species through Doga as well as different sexual orientations (i.e., LGBT). It is important that you read the class description and talk with someone at the studio to insure the level of difficulty you're getting yourself into. The folks there are very helpful and will aid you in getting a good fit. read more

I've taken two different classes in this space with two separate instructors and every class was wonderful in its own way. As someone who often feels uncomfortable exercising in groups, it is a relief for me to find a place that promotes a judgment free atmosphere. The over 40 yoga is gentle and calm and loving. I like this one a lot because it's so gentle. But the LGBTQ yoga with Belinda was amazing in a different way. I felt that she pushed me, not enough to overwork me, but to help me get out of my comfort zone. Of course, the most growth happens when we step outside of our comfort zones. Both classes left me feeling peaceful, stretched, and physically and spiritually worked. (In a good way) There are several yoga studios closer to my house than this one, but I'll be returning here. read more

I should start by saying I swore I would never practice yoga, let alone go to a studio to do so. But Just B has completely changed my mind! The studio is welcoming, comfortable, and accepting all at the same time and the instructors are truly teachers. I never feel like I am in a competition and I always feel like the instructor and others in the class are supporting me to do what my body needs that day. And the donation-based pay policy is perfect! Just B Yoga is a most welcoming space for ANY body. I first attended a workshop there on yoga for anxiety and depression then tried their 40+ yoga. As I gain back strength and body awareness, I try classes with greater difficulty -- and I ...haven't been disappointed by a class yet. Now I'm part of their Warrior Co-op where I enjoy unlimited classes! Each class, each teacher has taught me something about myself. I have tried classes in many different studios, gyms and even classes at colleges.. I have never had such a great workout (not to mention rejuvenating experience). I have taken classes with all of the teachers and an honestly say that they are all great (my favs are Belinda, Monica and Anna). Lunchtime Yoga is a great way to break up your workday. Monica, the Friday instructor is excellent. She is very patient and shows modified positions for those of us who are not able to keep up with her skills. She keeps the class lighthearted and fun, but always challenging. read more
