My 2 year old had been begging me to take her to this giant bouncy dream since the moment they…read morestarted to set up, and today was the day her wish was finally granted. We purchased tickets for the last opening at 6pm. This giant bouncy house has one main bouncy area with multiple slides and plenty to explore, and obstacle course, and an area to put your shoes. There's also a janky snow cone tent where you can splurge on an $8 cup of ice and add your own flavors, most of which were out or mislabeled. There are multiple tables and chairs, and port-a-potties with handwashing stations as well. The attraction is a little worn and has a lot of holes and wear and tear, making some areas hard to maneuver when a bunch of kids are running through due to deflation issues. If you have smaller kids, keep them close, as the bigger kids trampled my toddler multiple times as she attempted to climb things, and parents just stood by watching. 07/07 is the last day to take advantage of the $19/person pricing before it skyrockets to $29/person for the 80 minutes (socks are an extra $4, and are not a requirement). I definitely wouldn't pay $29/person to jump here, but at the end of the day, my daughter and her 5 year old cousin had an absolute blast.

You buy online or at the waiting line with QR code and sign waiver online. They check the QR code and stamp your hands. We brought our own sticky socks. There are plenty of seating in the shades. The music was a bit loud for me. The bounce house is pretty big. Not super well maintained as there were a few places where just normal packing tapes were used to patch the holes. There was a storm few days ago so there were several locations where there were puddles of water accumulated in the obstacle course and got many peoples feet wet. You can bring your own water in. They also have shaved ice dispensary inside. Everyone should be shoes off, they have staff that would remind people to take shoes off but they don't seem to enforce the sticky socks. My 10 year old thought it was kind of dirty (it was OK, what you'd expect) and was bored after about half an hour. It's actually not that big and doesn't take that long to play every obstacle. I like that it's outdoors. Weather was really nice today, so overall I thought it was pretty good. It is pretty expensive though at $20 per person for $80 min(?) and that's already discounted.

My partner and I were looking for another indoor playground for young kids as our weekend…read moreexcursion. Mama Rosa did a little Yelp search and found "Time Out Party and Play" and we executed our plan to check this place out with our little ones. The place had a cute vibe. The one-time open play admission was $15, without the entry to the sensory room. The attendant was very kind and allowed us to use the sensory room without an extra charge. Honestly, the sensory room was my favorite part because the room was actually serene, soothing, and great for kids who wanted to take a break from the physical play. The setup was quite inspiring in that sensory room and I could definitely see it as my ideal room design. Interactive, learning-driven toys were filled on the walls and and it was fun to see the kids jumping on the water trampoline. Patrons were courteous and I could see my older one had a lot of fun. My younger one was slightly timid due his petite size, but he ended up sticking to the small slide adjacent to the large two-story playpen. Some parents were able to "relax" for the time being by chilling at the cafe area nearing the playground. I believe there was a menu available to order the food and drinks in from a third-party coffeeshop. The register, on the other hand, had some pops and juice boxes for sale. "Time Out Party and Play" caters for birthday parties. I took a glance on the pricing poster and it seemed pretty reasonable to me if any parent wanted to plan an official birthday celebration by inviting friends and families. Nowadays the mall has gotten so much more emptier, yet a business like this should be a keeper! We don't live anywhere near the Hawthorne Mall in Vernon Hills, so we will be back when we can.

I had been eyeing the signs for Time Out Party & Play for what felt like an eternity, waiting for…read moreit to open so that my daughter and I could FINALLY check it out. Well today, my friends, was the day!! We came in about 4:45pm on a Saturday. There were maybe 5 other children playing. I had already checked out the prices, so I knew what to expect: $20 for open play, $28 for open play + drink + toy or $15 for open sensory play (great for toddlers and babies). Although I was initially a little hesitant about the $20 open play fee based on the space, I can confidently say that I got my money's worth, as my daughter was entertained for a solid hour and a half, and still didn't want to leave. The sensory area is a wonderful, quiet, low-light space for toddlers and babies who would otherwise be overwhelmed (or trampled) in the play area. The main play area is great, as you can see your child from just about every angle, and even on a busy day, the space is small enough that they're a safe distance away from you at all times. Adults aren't allowed on the second story of the play gym, but even my reserved 3 year old was able to maneuver most of the stuff on the second floor with confidence and ease. There are plenty of seats and tables for parents to hangout, or for kids to take a break, and cubbies for your shoes (socks only play). Great play space for kids 6 and under, but somewhat older siblings could enjoy the space as well! They offer private and semi-private party packages at a reasonable rate, too! The staff was friendly and helpful, and took the time to answer all of my questions.

Most importantly, there were staff spotting the kids, coordinating games in an organized and structured way, and helping out in the party room. Would highly recommend this location!

It's basically parents walking around hoisting their kids onto equipment that is behind their scope, and then having to hold them. There were no organized activities, save for the dodgeball game at the end. Even then, you couldn't even hear the instructor give directions. They would be better to have microphones. Instructor didn't seem like she was enjoying herself at all (no smiling). We started out in one area and then moved onto the next. My kids were bored in 10 minutes. They therefore went back to the first area, only to have an employee scold us for going back there because "it was already cleaned for the next group." We had no idea they were getting ready for another party. Again, it would have been better to politely say in a microphone prior to moving (so all can hear) that "we are moving on to another area and to not go back to the former as it's being prepared for another group." When we got to the eating area, one of the employees was so intrusive with the bussing of the table! She kept reaching out under *everyone* to get every little wrapper, juice box or a plate that appeared finished. For the love of God! This was so aggravating and other parents noticed as well. At least twice I had to tell her that my kids weren't finished. You couldn't even set something down without fear it would be taken right away! Another thing I found rude is that the employee announced coldly that the kids "couldn't get the cupcake until their pizza was finished." What the hell? This was not enjoyable at ALL, and my 2 boys (7 and 8) did not like this place one bit. We felt shoed out the door. Suggestion: Have employees who actually interact with the kids with organized games. Employees need a microphone as well, for announcements. Smile and cease the cold and demeaning comments. When in the eating area, PLEASE let parents and children eat in peace. Clean up afterwards, not during!!
