I hired Gary Nitzkin's firm to represent me in disputing some errors in my credit file. I was told…read moreover the phone and via letter that I would not be charged any costs or fees. The money for this would come from the defendant. Mr. Nitzkin's website shows a video further documenting the fact that he will not charge his clients a fee, in addition to multiple other written statements. Mr. Nitzkin's firm deposited my award check into their bank account in July 2015. After numerous requests for disbursment, I was forced to file a False Advertising claim and a grievance with the State of Michigan. Mr Nitzkin's predatory advertising brings clients in promising no cost, however, once he has the money it doesn't get paid to the client. Ironically, he has been cited for this very action with the State of Michigan licensing board in the past. BEWARE (Update Jan 12, 2016) Go to www.adbmich.org, the Attorney Discipline Board. I deposited a large sum to qualify for a promotional CD offer--which disappeared the moment my account was opened. Then came the real headache: Genisys made it nearly impossible to access my own funds. Their website is useless, and even getting my new account number required a long wait on hold. When I finally reached someone, they refused to provide it, telling me I had to wait for a "welcome letter" via snail mail. I needed my account number NOW in order to access my funds. They forced me to jump through more hoops just to retrieve basic account info. There was no digital workaround. Even after I linked Genisys to another bank, they blocked outbound transfers--effectively trapping my money. These tactics aren't just inconvenient--they're deliberately restrictive. I've never experienced anything like this with Alliant, NASA FCU, Popular Direct, or NexBank. Genisys clearly prioritizes retention over transparency. Their policy of impeding access to my own money was time consuming and unnecessarily difficult. Customer service clearly isn't a priority. After finally closing my account and having my funds wired back, I received a phone call offering me the original CD deal that was no longer available. That's rich. After all the aggravation and time wasted, I said absolutely not. Too little, too late.
