The Jam Pantry, in Greenslopes, is their newest venture and could be considered a more polished and grown up Comfort. The country-cottage chic design is still there but it's more refined (hello beautiful wallpapered back room for group dining!) as is the menu. There's old favourites including Nims' Eggs but then there's the specials board. And this is where Nims' shines. French toast with raspberry ripples, Tomato and Strawberry soup, Cous Cous cereal with coconut yoghurt, confit salmon, and a few other treats sure to leave you considering a two or three course breakfast or brunch, or at the very least plotting your immediate return. We dined here early on a Thursday morning in their first week of trade. Service was top-notch, attentive and being asked just what I meant by "iced long black" was a welcome question to ensure my coffee was a rousing success. To be fair, there were only a handful of diners while we were there but I'm confident even during the busy weekend periods, brunch hunters wouldn't be waiting too long for meals. My Zucchini and Cumin fritters with bacon, beetroot relish (able to be purchased in-house alongside Nims' other preserves, jams and relishes), garlic yoghurt and poached eggs were much larger than I'd expected and finishing them became quite the mission whilst chatting away to my dining companion. Served in a bowl, it was liking digging for hidden treasure as I made my way down to the fritters - soft, pillowy and light. There was a moment of ordering regret upon seeing my friend's french toast! The best thing it's the type of cafe you can take a paramour, your girlfriends, or your Mum. It's just like going home!

Toppings will include red bean, sago balls (like tapioca), mung beans and grass jelly. If you are feeling brave, try the Durian Pudding. Durian is a spikey skinned, white fleshed fruit with a pungent stench which for some reason is incredibly popular in South-East Asian cuisine. Fond as I am of Chinese desserts, I admit durian pudding turns my stomach. The rest of their menu though is delicious - though perhaps an acquired taste if you're unaccustomed to Hong-Kong style desserts.

They even ask you the amount of sugar you want in your drink and you can get creme brulee in your drink as well instead of pearls... or both if you're feeling adventurous. I know I know... it sounds weird, but trust me when I say... it is quite the taste sensation that works really well! You'll pay the standard $4-$5 for your drink including jelly or pearls or nothing and the sizes are pretty good too. They even ask you if you want ice in your bubble tea. Very friendly staff mixed with interesting looking combinations for your tea drinking delight... this is an international Taiwanese chain starting out in Australia. I think it's got a fair bit of competition but I also think it may do pretty damn well.

The first time I tried their Pink Grapefruit Green tea I was in love. It was the perfect blend of sweetness with a flavour that makes my mouth water even as I talk of it now. The staff are always friendly and the service is quick. I must admit that I have craved their tea to the point that I have made special trips to Toowong just for a cup of it. I highly recommend you try some. In fact, I think I might go and get some right now...

It just doesn't fit in the car cup holder. So either finish it before leaving or drink it when you reach your final destination otherwise you may have to deal with picking up boba from your car floor.

They do the usual assortment of pearl milk teas and fruity green/black teas. When I went last weekend, I wanted to try something a little different so the waitress recommended a Winter Melon Yoghurt drink. This was perfect for the hot weather but I would only recommend it if you enjoy drinks with a distinct sour sweetness such as Yakult. They also stock a range of gelati that I've never heard of called Norgen Vaaz though I'm willing to give it a go if it is as tasty as their drinks range.

When I visited they were one of the finalists in the running for Brisbane's best coffee, best barrister and best breakfast so they obviously have been turning a lot of heads. They have a small table offering loads of pens and colouring in books to entertain the children and there were quite a few families with small children there and is obviously one of those children friendly cafés Mum's and Dad's seek out, without fearing dirty looks from those around them. I was so hungry after the gym I thought I was going to cry as my tummy told me it was going to start to digest itself if I did not eat immediately. I therefore went for "The Revival Beast" offering free range bacon, cassoulet, mushroom, organic poached eggs, triple cooked chips & toasted organic sourdough.
