I'm a female, veteran with diagnosed ptsd and in need for super private windows. However, after expressing my windshield needs to Ryan, the shop owner, he told me that what I wanted would be too dark for me. Mind you, I could see through my back tinted window perfectly fine but he insisted & I was convinced to go with a lighter tint. Ryan also told me prior to my arrival that the job would be done in under 2 hours. That was important to me, however, 3 hours later, I had rearranged my plans because Ryan underestimated the time needed to complete job.
Since it was evening when this was done, I waited till the next day to see straight through that disappointing tinted windshield. Needless to say , the new tint didn't express the privacy I was seeking. I promptly contacted Ryan letting him know my dissatisfaction & agreed to fix it. Two days later, i arrive again & the very first thing Ryan says to me when I step out of my car was "You know there's a service fee for tint removal right?" A red flag I naively neglected, however I had sense enough to remind him that it was he that thought I should go with the lighter tint & that I also had to rearrange plans because of his untimeliness. He backed off with this response & decided to honor the fix free of charge, which is what I and any customer should expect as a unsatisfied paying customer.
Ryan proceeded in removing the unsatisfactory tint & I watched him pull it off without even the use of a heat gun in under 2 minutes. I was thrown that he tried to weasel more money out of me from a job he's suppose to honorably fix. Definitely FAR from professional business practice but I was already there & naively
committed & standing by my wits. 30 mins later, I'm watching him struggle with the new tint. He couldn't figure out why the tint wasn't sticking to the windshield & was openly expressing this to me. He removes the tint completely & discovers that he forgot to pull the film off the tint first (which seems like a step a professional wouldn't skip even by accident). Thinking this was an honest mistake, l continued on watching Ryan install the tint. He squeegees across the driver side of the windshield and into the corners vigorously and repeatedly. All of a sudden, he says to me, "What's your insurance like? Do you have full coverage?"
The question was confusing as I had no idea what business he needed with my insurance. Ryan continued to say, "I have a guy that can fix this crack for you for $100" I looked on to see that he was indeed addressing a new, prominent crack that went from the top left corner into the middle of the windshield. This was concerning because that crack had not existed prior to being serviced by Ryan, yet he insisted that the crack was there when he first applied tint to my car. I now know that tint shops won't service your car if you have cracks on your glass and will notify you upon discovery before performing the job. He GASLIT me saying that I would have heard a loud POP if he had cracked it & kept repeating that statement over and over again, yelling "DID YOU HEAR A POP? NOO!!" I knew & told him that I did not drive there with a cracked windshield. All I got was more gaslighting & violent aggressive behavior. Ryan pulled out his phone in efforts to show me video proof all while still yelling at me "YOU'RE GONNA BUG OUT WHEN YOU SEE THE VIDEO" but viewing the clear video, we both witnessed that there was NO CRACK to be seen. He gaslit me more saying that I couldn't see the crack because of the tint that he had applied, implying that I've been knowingly driving around with a cracked windshield. He should have stuck to HVAC since he couldn't stop talking about it.
In the end I was robbed $255, inherited damages to my car, & valuable lesson learned.
Go to professionals like, TINT BY VINNY, that will value & honor you as a customer. You may spend a little more but trust me, I paid way more having gone to this BULLY OF AN ESTABLISHMENT.
More like "GAS LIGHTER AUTO SPA."
RYAN CRACKED MY WINDSHIELD AND STOLE MY MONEY.
And afterwards gaslit me saying that I couldn't see the crack because of the tint that he had applied, implying that I've been knowingly driving around with a cracked windshield. He definitely took advantage of me. Now I know that any window tint professional would never agree to tint your glass if your glass is already cracked.
He knows he cracked it.
In the end I was robbed $255 and left with damages I ended paying by myself out of pocket.
The pictures show before and after being serviced by Ryan.
