I…read morealways wait until I am in Montreal so I can go to Salon Gamme and get my hair colored, styled and cut by the most professional, kind, experts I've ever encountered. On my last visit I got a balayage, toner, cut and style by the owner Malina who did such a phenomenal job on my hair that I can't stop staring at it 24/7. Just take a look at the photos I've attached for visual proof. The ladies at Gamme understand what it takes to make a salon experience fantastic - they take their time to get it right and make sure your hair stays healthy after the treatments so you stay looking fabulous between appointments. I can't say enough good things about this place... It is run but an ambitious, dedicated, inspiring lady boss (Malina) who has a hardcore loyal clientele (no wonder!) and is in my opinion a visionary and avant-garde leader for the Montreal hair scene. Four of my best friends now became regular Salon Gamme go-ers after they've seen how satisfied I've been with my hair and I'll keep raving about it because it's THAT worth it. Go to Salon Gamme!!

I was quite nervous due to not wanting to change much with my hair except keeping it's length and getting layers. Upon our arrival, Sam was so kind and accommodating. He made sure to make my best friend and I feel comfortable, made conversation with us, tried to get to know us, offered us tea and we got to learn about him as well. For my haircut, he made sure to listen to what I wanted and suggested some things that would look good in addition. He's probably the FIRST hairstylist who actually listened to me when I said I wanted to keep the length of my hair, but just wanted to add layers. Even though he trimmed an inch of the length, the end result of my hair was still pretty long and satisfactory. He gave my hair more life, which is exactly what I wanted. I came with my best friend, who had no intention of doing anything to her hair. She had a couple questions for him because she had some ideas of what she wanted to do to her hair in the future. Sam kindly answered them all and even managed to squeeze in a hair colouring appointment the same day, after she was convinced with his explanations of how her hair would end up looking. (She looked great at the end!) Overall, I think it's safe to speak for the both of us (my best friend and I) and say that our experience at Art's Hair Coiffure with Sam was definitely a great one & we're definitely going to come back in the future! :)

I was referred to see Sona by a friend who kept telling me she had magic hands. That was an…read moreunderstatement. If you see her, you'll never want to see another massage therapist. Sona is so talented! I went in feeling tense and came out exhilarated. She worked all the pressure points and somehow knew exactly where it hurt. She gives receipts as well, which is nice for insurance. She's such a nice person too. I really felt comfortable with her. My only regret was not having asked for a longer massage. I will have to go see her again. Keep up the good work Sona!

I've been here a few times and my stylist dresser was not bad. (Not amazing in terms of hair…read morestyling, but very friendly and it was enough that I kept coming back.) I just called to make an appointment. The receptionist who answered didn't really speak English. I'm trying hard to learn French since I moved here, but it's a struggle. We both tried, but she eventually said "just a minute", put me on hold (presumably to get someone else), and then a couple minutes later the line was disconnected. It might have been a mistake, but I had similar difficulties before. I feel like an inconvenient customer for them, so I figure I will do both parties a favour and go elsewhere. I should add that my boyfriend has been coming here for years and really likes it. Frankly, it's my own fault for living in Ahuntsic and the Ontario government's fault that I failed to learn French. It's a nice enough salon, but if you're in my situation, you might have an easier time elsewhere.
