The negotiation process with DJ Gil Blake was very much appreciated when he agreed on a competitors…read moreprice point of which was more than half his quote for our Non Profit event. However, this event was held on a Sunday evening for three hours, so although his pricing was adjusted, he was still compensated accordingly. We were surprised at some of his arrogant comments about pricing and set up when he arrived, which was extremely unprofessional, as he made these comments in front of our guests that we were hosting! He complained about his location at the venue, which was an indoor/outdoor event, where we provided a stage. He also didn't bring enough tables for his equipment, and had to borrow from our kitchen staff. Additionally, the announcements he made on behalf of our organization, were incorrect, he used the wrong company name, 3 times! And when we corrected him, he argued that "he meant to say..." No apology or correction! He partnered with a lighting company that we hired, and we were told that he would manage all the particulars on set up and take down...however, he demanded our assistance. To top it off, per our error, the form of payment we gave him was $2.00 short, yes, $2.00!! and he has demanded a new form of payment! He was also overheard telling our event guests his cost and particulars & said "x" (this company) "has money, and could have afforded more!" All these particulars were extremely unprofessional, and although we wish him the best, we don't plan on hiring his services in the future. However, overall, his delivery on the music was on point, and his products offered with smoke, strobes, & lighting are great. Just beware of the professionalism that partners with these products and services.

Shelby Weir...what can I say about Shelby Weir that can make people understand how truly amazing…read moreshe is at her job? It's probably not possible but I will try. I put a lot of thought into this review because she put so much thought into my wedding and the planning of it. We were actually fortunate enough to win Shelby's services at a bridal expo. We thought we were just getting a day of coordinator but Shelby helped us with the entire process from A-Z and was never anything but pleasant, graceful, efficient, organized, committed, and fierce. I have a really demanding job and would go from times where I couldn't respond to things for days at a time or would send her frantic messages at 2 am, and no matter how difficult I was, Shelby always replied quickly and gave the best advice. We live in a day and age where a quick response to texts and emails is so appreciated and helpful and she never failed to help my new husband and I calm down and give the best advice in a timely and efficient manner. She made the experience very personal and friendly as well. Shelby came to our home twice to discuss the wedding with us and on the last visit, she brought several supplies over to help us with the ceremony and reception. She has several vendors that she's very friendly with and always knew what vendors charged less and what vendors we might want to avoid. As an example, she found us a very well-priced equipment rental company that ended up playing a huge part in our wedding and we were going to be paying quite a bit more for the other company we had in mind. Our venue actually didn't even know about that company and our venue was a large and well-connected venue, so Shelby really is a force to be reckoned with. Now let's talk about the day of and the rehearsal. At the rehearsal, we had about 35 people there. And I'll be honest...some of the people we had there were not the best behaved and are not familiar with formal events. But Shelby kept her cool and stayed very organized and professional while we were in the hot Florida sun. She answered all of our questions quickly and everyone else's as well. Shelby's memory is truly astounding. She knew what time we had to get to various places, like when the groomsmen needed to arrive for photographs, anytime I'd ask her or someone else would ask her. On the day of I really can't say enough about how much she did. Truly. She came early, set up, coordinated with all vendors, helped with cleanup, helped with my dress, and so many other things. I think what I was the most impressed about was her crisis management. I had someone in the wedding party get far too drunk prior to the ceremony and it affected the entire wedding. And I mean every part of it. But Shelby calmly helped my mom rearrange the ceremony and coordinated with the DJ as necessary. Not only that, but I did notice a lot of my family and friends were difficult to round up during the reception for photographs. There was about 150 people there and she did it with so much patience. I think if I had to summarize Shelby in one word it would be a rock. Because she was my rock before, during and after the wedding. And the true kicker here? Shelby was pregnant the last few months of our wedding planning process! It takes a hell of a woman to hold down a full-time job, build another business, and carry a child. We are so blessed to have had Shelby as our planner and consider ourselves blessed to have met her in general and to now be able to call her a friend. We love you Shelby!
