Come time for my appointment dr Spencer decided to try and pull out my crown with his fingers without saying anything first then appeared surprised and unhappy that that action startled and scared me, he continued to explain to us that he didn't have time and we needed to schedule another appointment. We scheduled that appointment as a consultation and had been there for maybe 10 minutes at most. I asked for him to look at my teeth instead of repeatedly explaining trust because the time it took him to talk would be enough to glance at my teeth which is all I was asking. When he would not look at my teeth in the appointment scheduled for him to look at and do a consult for my teeth We decided to leave and not return as he made it clear verballyand in actions he couldn't or would not help. This appointment caused further trauma and was extremely unprofessional. However his dental assistant was lovely and kind I wish her the best in her career.

With Wisconsin being my home, a random dentist office in northeast Montana wouldnt usually be my first choice. After the interaction I had though- I certainly would make it first. After calling numerous dental offices to inquire about a tooth extraction, this office was the first to help that offered Care Credit. Not being totally sure where I was going to be, but hopeful on location, I ended up scheduling an appointment here. They were ON IT with trying to get me in ASAP, aiming to get the situation dealt with same day, same time (meaning new patient visit, x-ray and extraction). The woman who helped me was SO KIND and SO COMPASSIONATE. I wish I remembered her name. This place is as solid as can be in the type of world we live in today. While I ended up not actually making it to the appointment due to several, spontaneous factors, this place far supersedes dental offices even close to my area. This place definitely deserves the glowing reviews. If I ever am in the area and need emergency dental work, this will be the place I go. You guys made a poopy situation easy to deal with. She and her staff are wonderful. I also found her prices to be very reasonable. She has handled a general assessment, two cleanings, a chipped tooth repair, and a major filling replacement for me. She's located in what I call the dentists' condo block, near the center of town, a few blocks north of Benefis and 10th Avenue South.

The front office/hygienists are super friendly and knowledgeable. They were patient with my 3 kids, even my middle child who has sensory processing disorder and is a challenge to deal with. Dr. Nelson is quite old, but he is still competent and he knows what he's doing. Just remember to speak up when you're talking to him. Another dentist in town told me I had a cavity and wanted to charge me a ton of money to fix it. Come to find out, it's not a cavity, it's just a sensitive tooth. Some sensitive toothpaste will do the trick. My family will go here for our dentistry needs from now on.

I left that initial appointment heartbroken and overwhelmed. I made it clear, again and again, to the front office staff that I'm a single father responsible for all of my daughters' medical, dental, and insurance needs on my own. I max out my workplace flex spending account every year, and nearly 100% of it goes toward my daughters' care--including ongoing payments for my daughter's braces. I told them there was no way I could take on thousands of dollars in additional dental expenses for myself. Despite that, they kept pushing paperwork at me--totaling over $14,000 in treatment plans--until I finally walked out of the office in tears. Months later, I returned for a scheduled basic teeth cleaning, only to be told I still had to sign the same financial forms for over $14,000 in out-of-pocket treatments before they would even begin the cleaning. I wasn't there for surgery. I wasn't there for an expensive procedure. I just wanted a cleaning. But once again, I was made to feel pressured, humiliated, and deeply uncomfortable. The thought of losing my smile because I can't afford treatment is deeply depressing. And the anxiety and fear this office caused--by dismissing my concerns and pushing expensive plans regardless of my financial reality--only made it worse. I said I'd like just the problem tooth looked at and then extracted. She said ok and quoted me a price and told me the total if I was cash paying. The exam was fine enough, the doctor obviously felt like I was inferior to him and was condescending to me. He made remarks simplifying all of my teeth issues after seeing me for 5 minutes. Then they print off the treatment plan and it was $250 more than I was quoted. I paid $95 for my exam and left in excruciating pain. I would not recommend
