My go-to spot post yoga. I love juice. It's not as healthy as eating whole fruits and veggies with all its fibers, vitamins, and minerals intact. But it still offers us important phytonutrients. Totally disappointed to see they've opted to using plastic bottles. Like the world doesn't have enough one time use plastic items. I used to go out of my way to get the jarred juice simply because from an environmental impact the reusable jar / exchange program was a great way to teach people that we don't have to participate in a "throw away" culture. And don't be fooled...not everything you recycle gets recycled. By participating in a single use business model based on recycling, you actually hurt more responsible industries (what Krokodile used to be), paving the way for less environmentally friendly businesses. In the preamble to Xmas we were not eating our best. We felt not great. My wife mentioned we might try a cleanse to feel better for the holidays. I've always wondered what kind of a store could stay afloat in Yaletown serving juices? I mean the shop looked nice, but come on, juices? My wife being the smart shopper she had already researched this store and she knew this is where we wanted to try out our first cleanse. The staff were great and recommended we go for the green run. When we had a question about the cleanse, the manager Nick sent us a reply post haste. There are three kinds of cleanses: easy, moderate, and hard. They are named after kinds of ski slopes (green, blue, and black) Unsure of what to expect we went for a one day green course. Krododile recommends you prep for your cleanse by not eating or drinking things with caffeine, gluten or dairy. We followed this advice and stayed clear of these things a day in advance of the cleanse. The cleanse itself is wonderful. You take a bottle every two hours and drink lots of water so your never really feel super hungry. As the day progressed we actually felt better and better. By the time we woke up the next day we felt AMAZING! We plan to do another one next week and do one once a month to recalibrate. Krokodile Pear is a welcome neighbour in our hood. We plan to drop in whenever we need some cold pressed goodness and a nod to good health. The products are top notch and worth every penny. (Not cheap for sure but locally sourced and made. This is worth it) t PS we liked the cleanse so much our dinner tonight will be a Penticton and Capilano Krokodile so we can keep the goodness flowing until Xmas dinner. read more

Visited this location for the first time on Canada day. To be honest, after a quick look at the menu board with the price tags $$$ I was on my way walking out of the store but the girl working there offered to sample one of their juices. I was super thirsty on a hot day and was really craving a refreshing drink. Luckily the worker offered me to try their Pumped Up Kicks which was just what I was looking for. I also tried their new crackers and vegan cashew cheese dip which was AMAZING for vegan cheese. I ended up paying the full price tag for the juice and I will occasionally come back, I won't be able to go there regularly unless I get a HUGE raise. lol read more

This is another place that I walked by on the way to a coffee shop that the guy I am dating and I were heading to (Feb 18). He is not much into the raw food thing, therefore, I book marked this adventure for myself. The cool thing is that they're open before 7:30 am at the same time as Blenz. This is to their advantage 'cause they can be that coffee alternative (Blenz is next door). The shop of course that early in the morning was empty, therefore, the lady who was working at the shop was able to give me her attention and give me some information. The lady this morning was not the shop owner, however, she acted as though the establishment was her own and treated me with care, volunteered information on the juicing processing as well as helped me selected the cold press juice that was right for me. It is very rare to find people in retail who give a sh*t about their job and treat the business as their own. I should know as I used to do retail back in the day. The juices for a jar range anywhere between $9 - $12 which on the surface seems very pricey, however, it is along the same price range as the Body Energy and some of the other cold press juices. Apparently it is better to have your choice cold pressed than blended as blending shreds and destroys structure. I have a blender and if I blend my own sugar free drinks, I am still way ahead of the game. I think that both methods have it's pros and cons, however, health wise I don't see the scientific proof or difference in either or. I have had both and I feel extremely healthy. I picked up on all veg juice with some E3 as I didn't want anything with fruit juice. I didn't want that early afternoon sugar crash. The juice itself tasted decent. Nothing is made to order. It is all bottled in fridges, therefore, it is a grab and go situation. There is a lot of space and a few coolers. They're prepared to accommodate the large crowds. :) read more

Amazing juice. First time having cold pressed juice yesterday and was not disappointed with the hype. If it was about half the price I would have one of these everyday! So good I can't rave about it enough. The gentlemen was super helpful and knowledgble and since it was our first time he took the time to recommend some great choices! Awesome juice selections. As sweet as you want. As green as you want. Even had some funky concoction with charcoal in it. Tasted it. Oddly good. Place is super clean and fits what a juice place should look and feel like. They have protein bars you have likely never seen before. Had some soups I didn't get to try but would have loved. After watching joe cross on netflix my husband and I got inspired to try to have healthy drinks here and there in our lifestyles. While in vancouver on a trip last year. My mom and I stopped in krokodile pear and we bought the Westwood drink. It was green and when we tried it it was amazing full of flavor not to strong and not to sweet for us. This was an organic juice bar and I'm all about the organic lifestyle. Juice was really good but the only reason I'm giving it three stars because it was $10. I ordered the pre-made green machine and it was really refreshing being that we were coming from the pier and I was really thirsty from walking a mile already. The Asian guy working at this location is super nice and friendly, and the juices are of superb quality, would say better than any other I tried around here which I have mentioned to the owner. However, another white girl working there has MAJOR attitude problems! I've seen her around 3 times and each time she acted like she didn't want to be there and like she's doing me a huge favor because I had to spend my money! I asked her if she had a bag and she said "I don't have any bags" in the most condescending way! Am surprised how she even got a job as a salesperson. I am addicted to fresh pressed juice despite the hefty price tag. On the way home from yaletown, I saw this cute store and even though, I was getting a delivery from the juicetruck, that evening I still wanted to try it. Really liked my juice a lot so now am going to alternate between the two places. I love the glass jars, all organic ingredients, and that they put algae some of their juices. read more

Amazing premade juices! Finally! And they have a great recycling program where if you bring back 10 jars you get a free juice! It's a tad pricey at 9-13$ a juice. However, considering they only use premium organic ingredients I don't think it's a big deal. My only complaint is that they have a tip function at the cash. Get rid of it. You haven't served me anything if I'm going to a fridge in your store, picking up the juice and leaving. Other than that I highly recommend. read more

The great part about Yaletown is if you are situated in this area, there is quite a few juice options for such a small area. Decided to try Krokodile Pear on my lunch break as it was a short walk away and it is a great alternative to my nooner lunch-break glass of wine. Went for the Anmore which is: Kale, Spinach, Parsley, Romaine, Cucumber, Celery, Pineapple, Cilantro, Jalapeno. It was tasty and oddly reminded me of pho broth as the cilantro, jalapeno and parsley flavors were quite strong. I definitely enjoyed this one and would purchase again. Service is non-existent. Walked in and said hello to the girl sitting behind the cash-register and she did not even look up. Picked out my juice and went to pay and it seemed like I was interrupting whatever she may have been doing (labeling lids perhaps?) as she seemed extremely unhappy with my presence and the fact that I was looking to pay for my juice. Good juice, might come back at some point but Peoples Juicery, Chasers and Living product Isle(smoothies, not juice though) are nearby and service is better. read more

I have had terrible experiences with this Krokodile Pear. I have done 2 three day juice cleanses with them. The first time, two of the juices they gave us were not good (they smelled bad and looked weird), we took them back and they exchanged but I often do a juice cleanse when I am too busy to cook so having to go back when you are just about to drink a juice was not ideal. Lucky I had not taken it to work. The second time, we picked up the juices on a Sunday night to start monday. We had checked the website and saw that they closed at 8pm, which was ideal since we would be coming back from Whistler. We got a call around 5pm to tell us that they had switched to their winter hours and they actually closed at 6pm. Luckily we were close to being home and went straight there but didn't appreciate the misinformation on the website. When we got home we realized that the expiry date on one of the juices was that day, even though they knew we were starting the cleanse the next day. By then, they were closed so my husband just decided to chance it and drink it anyway. They don't give you any instructions as to what to drink in what order, I had to go check the website which is not very convenient. When I got to the end of day 2 and was prepping the juices to take to work on day 3, I realized that I had been given two green juices instead of the Kicking Horse juice. I called and left a voicemail to tell them what had happened. By 10.20am the next day no-one had gotten in touch so I called them. They said I could pop by to replace it, but I had to get to work so I asked if someone could drop it off. This wasn't possible, even though it was their mistake and their responsibility to fix. So I just had to drink what I had. All in all very unprofessional and disappointing. I won't be giving them any more of my money even though they are close by and their juices taste good. I have done a 3 day cleanse with Chasers and found that to be much more professional - would recommend going there instead. read more

The name, which some may not know is another for avocado is the absolute cutest! I learned of krokodile pear through the holistic grape vine as I am a RHN. The store is absolutely gorgeous, the options of smoothies and juices are abundant and all of course delicious and nourishing. I love that the juices are affordable compare to many cold pressed juices so I usually leave with more than one! Lastly, the store also supports many local and holistic companies by carrying their chocolates and snacks. Love. read more

i really appreciate the information regarding reasoning for the changes here ^_^ i am totally happy to support and consume uncertified produce, if it's local and organic in everything but name. and... the juice tastes the same: delicious. i love picking up zimt and glow spot raw chocolates and probiotic almonds (tip: i learned from shar of the sadly-closed i love health store not to eat more than 5 in a day! good call) and nud crackers. I used to regularly buy from the Yaletown Juice bar when I noticed today that the labelling has changed and no where on the label does it mention ORGANIC. This place started off by advertising itself as ALL ORGANIC, COLD PRESSED juice. So I called the place to clarify. The lady in charge mentioned that they have changed it from Organic produce to locally grown produce. So its not Organic anymore. Shouldn't they mention this on their FB page (which still btw says it's Organic)? Shouldn't they inform people that it's no longer Organic produce by advertising it? I'm sure very few people know this. It's irresponsible on the part of the management and the owners to continue this practice. Customers still buy the juice thinking it's organic! read more
