We finally chose a beautiful dolomite countertop that looks like a summer blue sky on a cloudy day in leathered finish. It truly brightened our kitchen and added a touch of elegance to the room. The installation was meticulous, the communication was excellent, and the price was very reasonable compared to other places we looked at. We also ended up buying our faucets and drawer handles from them. We were impressed with the quality--the faucets are all metal with no plastic parts, and the handles are solid and well-made. When we needed a few extra handles we went to another store because we were in a hurry, we immediately noticed the difference in quality. The handles from Blue Ocean had smooth edges and were a little cheaper, so we went back to order the rest from them. If you need a countertop, they should absolutely be at the top of your list.

The owner, Tsetsi, was highly recommended by a plumber that had done work for us. Tsetsi completed our master bathroom remodel as well as renovation of 4 other bathrooms in the house. The quality of work was excellent. He did a beautiful job redesigning the master bath shower. The tile work he did in the master bath shower and around the bathtub was exceptionally beautiful. He also tiled floors in three of the other bathrooms and they are all equally as nice. His attention to detail was impressive. Tetsi also recommended other tradesmen for work on the job such as a plumber, electrician, and a company that we worked with to have quartz countertops installed in each bathroom. The quality of these people was also exceptional. Of note, each of them commented to me about the high quality of Tsetsi's work, and how easy he is to work with. Tsetsi has repaired boards on our deck, managed and built supports under the deck for a hot tub, painted cabinets, built shelves, and things I can't even remember. He can make just about anything happen. The communication with Tsetsi is the best I have had with someone who worked on my house. This was especially important because the house being worked on is three hours from our full-time residence. It was reassuring that he kept in close contact. He was willing to do anything we asked, and he was able to figure out what needed to be done. The cost and timeline were right on target. Not only were his prices the most competitive in the Charlottesville area, but they were also 25% lower than the Northern Virginia fabricators that I visited, whose inventory was of nowhere near the same quality! After having received rushed and inattentive service from other potential fabricators and having met dead end after dead end trying to find the specific stone that I wanted, price was not even my first concern with this project; I was looking for a quality grade of stone that would hold up over time and, most importantly, the personal attention that I needed because the vanity that I designed was not a standard size and was going to be an extremely tight fit in my bathroom. Glenn helped me find the perfect White Macaubas remnant to create a custom vanity countertop for my bathroom renovation. He keeps a surprisingly large and organized inventory, with an absolutely breathtaking selection of exotic slabs as well as affordable remnants; a huge plus was also that he was one of the only fabricators that I contacted who could actually get to the stone easily to send me a photograph before I decided to make the trip to meet with him. Although, relatively speaking, my purchase was not large, in order to get the most countertop space that I could in a small 1950s bathroom without sacrificing my modern design, I ended up requesting several meetings with Glenn, who gave me full access to his team of engineers and fabricators. Tom and Matt sat down with me to go over my drawings and measurements, kindly taking into account the character of my old home and the its limited space without asking me to abandon my design in order to make it easier for them. They patiently created multiple drafts in AutoCAD until the final template met my specifications exactly. They fabricated my countertop flawlessly! The design was so tight that, had any of several measurements been off even 1/8" in the fabrication, I would not have been able to comfortably fit my oversized antique faucet or utilize both my unusually sized sink and my vanity's tilt-out tray that just snugly fit together with a carefully crafted design. Glenn and his team at ESC run their business with an unparalleled focus on customer service and hold themselves to the utmost quality standards at extremely competitive prices, and I couldn't be happier that I found them. Every interaction was truly professional and enjoyable, and I highly recommend and trust the work that they do. I will lastly mention that it is astonishing in this day and age to receive a reply within minutes from a company, much less from its owner/CEO; Glenn was the first person to reply when I reached out to over 25 fabricators in Virginia and was the only one to reply directly by phone, which made communicating my needs much easier and more personal than by email.
