I found Jaime for Photo Booth at a wedding fair. I reserved them to do my wedding on 11/04/17. I had a Photo Booth included in my wedding package for 2 hours free. But the charge after the 2 hours free was $500 per hour. I just did not find that charge reasonable. So when I found JZM entertainment their price was sooo reasonable. We had Edith work the photo booth and she was absolutely awesome. She was soo sweet and tolerated my crazy crowd. My template design was absolutely gorgeous and the background was sooo pretty. We hired Jaime as our wedding g DJ. He was very friendly and courteous when we first began planning. The web site for the song list set up, and timeline was very easy to use. He also recommend to meet two weeks prior to our wedding, which was a great idea so he could make sure the timeline and "special songs" ( first dance, processional) were correct. He showed up to our wedding on time dressed professionally,, and performed the ceremony music perfectly! The music kept the dance floor full all night,and he was excellent at being our MC for the night. He also kept a good flow of events all night. The only disappointment was I had a couple of songs I wanted played for my mother and aunts, and they were not played. Also had songs on my "wish list" that were not played , but instead some rap/hip hop ones that were not wanted. My guests did enjoy the rap/hip hop songs, just not my personal music choice. We hired James for our wedding on March 07, 2020 at Roaring Camp. James was great from the start and takes his profession very seriously. He's hard working, professional and friendly. James FaceTimed us and we made a list of songs we wanted and he played them for us to make sure we liked it. James had never been at Roaring Camp so he went a few days beforehand to check it out by himself which we appreciated. We had some hiccups with the venue and James did everything he could do to help. We didn't have a playlist for him so we gave him some songs we like and he made a playlist he thought we would enjoy. I thought JZM was such a great deal for the amount of play time that was offered. However, this is truly a situation of where you pay for what you get. We hired him to DJ at our wedding and met with him a few weeks before the wedding to finalize everything. When we arrived, he had not bothered to look at our list of songs we had put together. At the wedding, Jaime did not play all of the songs we wanted, nor when we wanted them played. Also, he played a bunch of songs at the end of the evening that we did not request. Additionally, which I found to be the most unprofessional, his girlfriend was at the wedding uninvited and taking photos with her huge camera. He had solicited my fiance and I before the wedding to see if we needed a photographer and that his girlfriend was just starting out and would give us a good price. We messaged him back saying we had already gotten our photographer. At the reception, I noticed there was a woman there I didn't recognize with a big camera taking photos. My photographer later told us that she was the DJ's girlfriend and was taking photos of us. This was all without my consent or knowledge. Overall, I would not recommend Jaime to anyone. read more

He was the DJ for our daughter's wedding and we were not happy. Before the wedding day, we all discussed the type of music we wanted, with no rap music at all. We also requested a specific song by a specific artist and were assured he would get it for us; the song was played, but it was by a different artist. He also played rap. When my husband requested a song, he told him no. He made assurances before the reception that were not carried through. I would definitely find another DJ. He was super responsive and easy to communicate with throughout the planning process, and made sure to touch base with us right before the wedding to ensure all the right types of songs were being played and that he captured the right musical mood. My husband and I were quite disappointed, especially after reading all of the positive reviews on Yelp. We booked JZM Entertainment for our bicultural wedding reception as he said he was comfortable with playing both English and Spanish music. I was not impressed when we had our pre-event phone meeting and Jaime had to postpone it for an hour later because of family plans. When we did call him at the new time, he did not answer, and then eventually we got a hold of him but he wasn't prepared. Jaime did show up on time, started playing for our cocktail reception and left at the arranged time. In regards to the music played at our wedding, it was fine and the dance floor was busy most of the time although most of the Spanish songs that we selected to appease our older family members were not played at all. This was disappointing as that was nearly half of our guest list. The DJ does need to work on properly transitioning from genre to genre, as plenty of our guests complained that the music would abruptly change from one type to another when things were getting good. Additionally, my husband and I had to go back and clarify to him a few times as to what music we wanted and did not for both the cocktail reception and the party itself. I thought we had made it clear what our vision was for the music we wanted; nonetheless, all of this was forgivable, as we gave him our final music list pretty late (and we take ownership of that). The one thing that was unforgivable, hence 2 stars, was that he completely messed up on our first dance. Jaime put the wrong song, even after my husband had emailed him the mp3 of the correct song a few weeks prior, made a comment about how it was not on the database in order to make sure that the correct song would be played. Thankfully, our Day of Coordinator found the correct song and made him play it later on. All in all, we all had a good time, but I do recommend that if you know your music and have a specific vision for what you want played on that special day, then find someone else. read more

I hired Jaime and it's DJ & photo booth company for a corporate event. Jaime was really helpful and gave me great tips to make my event a successful one, even after having last minute request and help we came out with a good game plan and make out event run smoothly. Attendees loved the photo booth and the template design. It is great to have a quality product to produce on site print outs in a short time manner. We found cheaper companies in the area for photo booth and DJ service, but I am truly believe that you get what you paid for. In a previous event I hired a Groupon photo booth and it was such a waste of money as that company had a camera conected to an old computer and an injection ink printer that took 20 second to print out a wet photo, such a turn down. Jaime and it's crew provided such a great service within put budget without sacrificing quality. We will definetly hire JMZ for any future events. read more

We had hired JZM Entertainment for my wedding in October. My mom had initial contact with James and negotiated the contract with him, and paid him via PayPal directly, per his request. In July, about 3 months before the wedding, I realized we hadn't had any contact with our DJ, so I reached out to see if there was any sort of worksheet I needed to fill out and when he needed my song selections by. He responded saying he had sent my mom the contract, but never received the deposit in his PayPal account, so the contract is not valid and he is not holding my date...but good news, he still has it available. I reached out to my mom, who provided me with the signed contract, along with a screenshot of the PayPal payment, which did go through to JZM Entertainment. I provided this information back to James, along with a possible explanation as to why he may not have known where to apply the payment (the payment was sent through my dad's business account, and didn't have our names listed anywhere). But this leads me to question, who would receive a payment, and not question where it came from. Also, you are sending out contracts, but not following up to see why they haven't been returned? Once this all got resolved, I decided to wipe the slate clean and act like the mishap never happened. James had requested to come see the venue prior to the wedding, he was not available on the 2 dates that my fiancée and I were available to take him out there, and we were not available during the week, which was the only time he was available. The lack of flexibility was a little surprising to me. We agreed to meet at the venue on Thursday, 2 days before the wedding. James showed up without his contract and didn't really know how to answer my questions. Such as, he forgot I had ordered a photo booth, and he vaguely remembered me asking to add uplights as well. The wedding day has now arrived and James texted me 2 hours before the ceremony was supposed to start to ask if I had an extra 6ft. table he could use. I told him we didn't rent any 6ft tables, but he was welcome to use whatever the venue had that wasn't already being used. He responded saying he would bring his own. Not a big deal, but a little frustrating to deal with on my wedding day, just mere hours before everything is set to start. The ceremony then got started and the microphone and speakers were cutting out. James' Response?, "They all worked before when I tested them, your guests were providing interference with the speakers and that's why they weren't working. Plus, the wireless mic was too far away from the receiver." Ok, but you knew where the officiant was going to stand from the beginning, why wouldn't you move the receiver a little closer? The cocktail reception began and we couldn't find James, one of our guests said they saw him drive off. We weren't able to locate him again for about another 45 minutes or so. Where did he go? The rest of the evening started going well. After the Best Man and Maid of Honor Speeches, it was time to move into our Pie Cutting, James came over to me and said we should do our first dance instead. I told him I would rather do pie cutting, as outlined in the timeline I had provided him a week or so earlier. He then came back and said we should really do our first dance now, and I reiterated that I would like to do the pie cutting, at which time he obliged. The rest of the night went fine and he ended up playing the songs that I had requested through his online planning sheet. All of these little things here and there don't seem like much individually, but they add up over time and leave a bad taste in your mouth. They also add unnecessary amounts of stress to an already potentially stressful time in someone's life. I am giving 2 stars becuase the photo booth turned out to be a big hit. Long story short, I would never recommend JZM Entertainment to a friend, nor would I ever use them for any other sort of party or function in the future. read more

James recently DJ'd our wedding at Asilomar Beach and Conference Grounds in Pacific Grove about a week ago and was great to work with. He worked with us throughout the planning process. We communicated mostly via email or text but he met with us a couple of times to go over the details as well. The online event planner tool we felt wasn't the most user friendly or detailed but definitely had a large and wide array of songs to select from in addition to a section to request custom songs. As we went through some of our song selections my husband and I had some trouble deciding on what to choose but James made some great recommendations for us and brought up songs that we didn't even think of. Throughout our big day, he did well to balance out songs that we requested as well as other songs to mix it up a bit. He was also understanding of many of our last-minute changes and requests - there were a few and he rolled with them as best as we could! We also opted for their photobooth services which we all loved. We had made/brought many of our own photobooth props to use so didn't take advantage of all of JZM's props but the ones they set out were great and I did see they had brought a tub of many more that could have been used as well. Jaime with JZM entertainment is somebody I used for Spanish speaking events, as well as any other event that needed a great DJ. Bad weddings come from bad planning or bad communications. So I presume that may be a part of the bad reviews... just saying. The only unhappy customers I had in 30 years where the ones who threw their wedding together at the last minute and or family and friends at the event played a bigger part in music selection while the customers were not assertive enough to state what they want.... just b!*ch about it later. There are other review sites with people who are much more invested in planning their event and talking about it later. Find those reviews with JZM website. If I were getting married again (or maybe an anniversary) I would have Jaime be my DJ. Without a doubt. He is top notch... and I set a high bar. DO NOT USE! Please do not use this DJ. I was so bummed about how my money was wasted on this guy. I will begin with saying, I was very happy with his communication skills in the beginning.. Follow up calls and emails. He made a great mix with a lot of the songs we wanted for our wedding (even though we had to pick each and every song and his music site is not very user friendly) Then the negative came, he upped our pricing without any notice after we had a signed contract. He later stated the photobooth was not part of the package, even though it was listed on the contract. Then a week before the wedding he lets me know that he mistakenly double booked his weekend and would have a "friend of his" DJ our wedding! I should have said NO right then and there. The friend was a complete nightmare. He was streaming music off of his laptop.. No joke, a youtube commercial came up... played "filler music".. aka the Lion King theme song during the ceremony and did not use the music mix we had created. This guy also was first in line for our buffet table and helped himself to our open bar. NOT COOL!! We had also hired Jaimes fiancée to be our photographer as part of this package deal. She was great. Very funny, friendly and good with the kids. The pictures were definitely not professional- qualitity.. but we got a few good pictures. This guy sucks. My wedding was amazing and I wouldn't change a thing besides the DJ. He kept saying the wrong names and he brought his own play list basically nothing me and my wife choose to play for the wedding. I had to keep telling him to change the music or to play the music I wanted. But like I said the guy did his own thing and I was very disappointed also I paid this guy 1500 bucks. That's way too much for someone who just brings his iPod and puts it on auto play. There are plenty of talented DJs in the Bay area please do yourself a favor and look else where. To tell you the truth i never been a DJ before but I believe I can do a better job than him. Next time if you don't have the music the customer is requesting just let them know so someone else can do the right job. We just had Jaime as our wedding DJ and he did a fantastic job at an affordable price (even with 2 sets of equipment, 1 for ceremony and 1 for reception)! Our site required all of our outside vendors to visit the venue at least 30 days prior to the event and he did so way in advance with no extra charge. He was very flexible, especially with our music selection (Jurassic park theme music intro to ceremony and Indiana Jones exit music anyone?) and provided support to groomsmen when they couldn't figure out the projector. He was also flexible with the timeline since we started to get behind after table visits. He was responsive to all my questions and was one of, if not, the easiest vendor to work with. We met Jaime at a bridal faire in San Jose and when I reached out to him, he was very quick to respond. He was able to answer my questions within the hour, if not, minutes after e-mailing him. Our wedding was at Livermore and he is based in the south bay; and he was able to come to our venue just to do a walk-through. From there, he was able to see where he could set up his equipment without it being intrusive to the guests. Jaime was very easy to work with....and responsive to emails, etc. during our planning stages for our 5th Grade Promotion Party. He played all the popular music that the kids liked and played several song requests as well. The kids danced for two hours straight!
