Working with Belmont Entertainment is not worth the time. In talks for a contract for a wedding, they will give you an expensive price point, then tack on hidden fees and extra costs you'll have to pay. Communication, when you need answers on something, is non-existent, but when they need something, they respond immediately. I wouldn't recommend using them, and you're better off finding another DJ for your event unless you enjoy hidden fees, lack of communication, and expensive upfront costs. Belmont was recommended to us by my brother who used them a couple of years ago. The DJ they had used was no longer there, but we got in contact with Nick and he was very attentive and helpful right from the start. I am definitely a music person and wanted to have the music that I love for my wedding. I sent Nick some playlists and he worked my songs in with all the wedding classics seamlessly. I absolutely recommend Belmont Entertainment if you are planning a wedding in the Monterey / Santa Cruz / Carmel area (or elsewhere for that matter!) Belmont was recommended to us by a friend whose wedding was a few months before ours. After putting in an inquiry, Nick promptly reached out to setup an intro call. We had such a pleasant time talking with him that my fiance (now wife) and I decided we wanted him to be our DJ (other Belmont DJs were available). We couldn't have been more pleased! From the very beginning of the planning process, Nick was incredibly friendly, flexible, and knowledgeable - it definitely put us at ease during a time when there are a million things to stress about. Simply put, if you hire anyone else you're basically telling yourself that you do not deserve the best. I'd like to think I know what makes a good DJ. I've been to a ton of weddings, and I have seen what has worked and what hasn't. I even know a well known/successful wedding DJ and consulted with him before hiring mine. Jon crushed it and made our evening incredibly special. Of the many things our guests continually rave about our wedding: the music and DJ are in the top 3. Jon worked with us to eliminate some formulaic pieces that we didn't want in our wedding and emphasized the things that we really wanted. Mainly heavy dancing, and less songs for people who don't typically spend a lot of time dancing at weddings. Since we catered to the people who will spend 3+ hours on the dance floor our party was insanely good. We had people messaging us all weekend telling us they were still sore from the fun. Awesome. Jon Belmont was our DJ for our wedding at the Monterey Plaza Hotel and Spa. We met him a wedding/bridal show in January 2012 and found his personality and attitude as genuine as it gets. Other DJ's that we encountered at this convention seemed a little too artificial and pushy for our taste and ultimately turned us off. So after a day of mulling over our DJ vendor, we hired Jon to run the music for our wedding in September 2012. In the eight months leading up to our wedding, Jon was terrific at answering our emails and text messages with whatever questions we might have had. We are very indecisive people to begin with, but Jon helped guide us through our music selection and flow of events for our wedding reception. The most lasting impression happened in the two weeks prior to the big day. The ballroom at the Monterey Plaza Hotel and Spa was a little drab, so we wanted to spice things up a little with uplighting and draping. Other vendors in the area were charging an arm and a leg for these services, but Jon was able to quote us a less expensive (although not cheap, mind you) for the two decorative items. As a side note, I was discussing these items with Jon without my fiance's knowledge as I wanted to surprise her. I had previously told her that we would not be able to afford draping because it would put us over our budget. But, after I saw the look on her face, I knew we can stretch our funds a little to make our wedding one to remember. There was however one snag, after put down the payments for the ballroom decorations with Jon, I forgot the hotel's policy of allowing only one exclusive outside vendor handling lighting and draping. BUT, Jon has good working relationships with other vendors in the area, including the events coordinator at the Plaza, and was able to work around that problem! Suffice it to say, the ballroom looked spectacular (the bride was in tears); the music was perfect (the dance floor was crowded all night); and we also rented a projector/screen, and had a custom made logo lighting. All in all, we were very happy with our decision to hire Jon Belmont. You won't be disappointed! read more

Willi DJ'ed our November 2019 wedding at The Barns in Monterey, and he did a fantastic job! We wholeheartedly recommend working with him! He kept the party lively and fun, made great song choices, and was attentive and helpful to us the whole time. A few highlights that made the experience great: -Very helpful meeting prior to the wedding day where we walked through the reception agenda; he answered questions we had and worked with us on the sequence of the various dances and activities in the reception, and gave his professional opinion on areas where we were unsure (and he was absolutely correct in those cases) -He was familiar with our reception venue and it showed in his preparation and day-of setup, he knew exactly where to set up his speakers for the outdoor portion and brought just the right amount of extra lighting for inside when the dancing got underway -We needed a DJ that speaks both English and Spanish and could involve all of the guests throughout the night - from playing a great selection of songs in Spanish, which was a hit with everyone, to coaching the non-Spanish-speakers on traditions such as La Vibora de la Mar, Willi handled this perfectly We received many compliments from the wedding guests on how much fun the reception was, and we owe much of that to Willi for his great planning, communication, and music! read more

Jon DJ'd my Perry House wedding in Monterey this January. The venue was intimate and spaced out (tri-level), however the music broadcasted nicely on all three levels. I completed the pre-packet with all my preferences and we met about 5 days before the wedding. He was detailed orientated, thorough and offered a few great suggestions. The pre-ceremony music he picked was 20/30's and I loved getting ready to it. All of my details went off without a hitch, as well as the reception music and dancing. I had a last minute oops I forgot, which Jon was able to incorporate into the ceremony without any issues. I have never been to a wedding where the majority of guests danced to the very last song!!!! Your DJ is the most intricate part of your reception, for that is who keeps the guests interested, entertained and your reception flowing. I can not stress enough how important it is to have an awesome DJ, as well as not stress enough how elated you will be when you hire Jon. His pricing is reasonable and the pre-packet is easy to fill out. If you complete it correctly, your wedding music and DJing will bring great fun and organization to your wedding/reception. He was professional and called ahead, going through everything with me to make sure we were on the same page. He was lively and fun but not too 'in your face' like some other DJ's I've seen at weddings. He allowed for flow during the evening and respected everything that I asked for. Belmont Entertainment went above and beyond for my wedding reception at Bayonet & Black Horse this past January. The DJ was absolutely amazing, well prepared and easy to work worth. After the wedding most of my guests raved about how much dancing they did. Most of them were also surprised at the amount of people on the dance floor for the entire night. Which was mostly due to having a phenomenal DJ, who came highly recommended from friends. Pricing is reasonable and service is extraordinary. Ok.... so it doesn't look like you need any help on deciding to use this guy and/or his company as it seems like almost everyone has given him 5 stars... but I guess another glowing review can't hurt... So last weekend at my wedding (as the groom) I was a bit nervous.... nervous about the wedding yea.. but to be honest- nervous on how the party would turn out as well, how the guests would like the music, the flow of the event, all of the above.... Jon calmed my nerves 100% when we met with him a few days before the wedding... he was 100% in control and knew exactly what we wanted, what would go well, and what would not. When you are going through this whole wedding business you literally praise god when there is "One less thing" to worry about.... Jon made this aspect of our checklist- a non checklist item... He was all over it and 1-step ahead of anything we needed and could ask for, continually checking in throughout the night, but not awkwardly so- just the right amount. Anyway- enough said; if you don't use this guy you are blowing it... i'm sure your DJ will be fine... but if "fine" is all you want for your wedding then by all means- otherwise... use Jon.... great person, great DJ, great organization. We booked our wedding DJ services for our May 2013 wedding through Jon, but Sean was our wedding DJ and we could not have been happier. Sean was incredible, he was extremely friendly and personable from the get go and did a great job day of. We left most of the song choices for the whole night up to Sean with very limited instruction and we were happy with all the songs played. Our guest also commented on how great and responsive Sean was to their song requests, which is exactly what we wanted. Also we got married in a rustic location where a generator was needed for the ceremony speakers and I did not even see/hear the generator which was perfect. Sadly we didn't have the best experience w Jon. We had hoped to and it looked promising but I think we may have experienced an off-day? He's incredibly friendly and personable but day-of just did not come together. We had a unique ceremony where he was supposed to read a paragraph to our guests while things were happening to explain its significance and he completely forgot. It was awkward and no one really understood what was happening; by the time he remembered, we had already sat down. He tried to recover by reading through it quickly but it was too late. it was weird. He did fine with the reception music; but unfortunately he wasn't able to bring people to the dance floor. We first hired Belmont Entertainment for the musical entertainment to be held at our wedding on January 25, 2014. As a Professional Wedding and Event Planner, myself, I appreciated his keen attention to detail with all his clients. He has a unique ability to conform to his client's needs and requests. I've seen him be a calm, cool, and collected disc jockey for the classiest soiree playing the melodious tunes of Frank Sinatra... or the delightful sounds of Italy. Or he is the fun, energetic, vibrant DJ that can keep a crowd on their feet for the entire Wedding Reception. It has truly been a pleasure to work with him. But MY OH MY! It was a TREAT to hire him for our Special Event. He was prompt for every meeting we held. He was flexible with the dates, and times of our meeting. We talked extensively about the selection of music we desired to have played. It was a hard dynamic, and I was wondering HOW exactly Jon would pull it off - My husband and I come from a large Hispanic family. But our guest list of over 400 people, also had a wide variety of backgrounds, differing age groups, and musical tastes. Come the day of, Jon gracefully transitioned from Oldies, to Spanish, to Classics, and integrated Modern Hits as well. I have never seen a crowd hit the dance floor on the first song and continue until 1AM (did I mention we had a DRY wedding?) It was clear that our guests were having an incredible time. That was mostly thanks to Jon and his superb skills as a Masterful Disc Jockey. And did you know Jon has a beautiful array of Lighting Equipment...?! In my profession, I always brag that "Lighting is a great way to dress up a space." But when it came time for my own wedding - I struggled with whether lighting was necessary or a luxury. Ultimately, my groom wanted the lighting and like most grooms, he didn't ask for much. Well, my groom and Mr. Belmont hit it right on the head. I walked in and was blown away. Never again shall I doubt the gorgeousness of lighting and how it takes your event to the next level. Not to mention Jonathon's lighting equipment is TOP-OF-THE-LINE, and he's reasonably priced. The most memorable moment of our experience with Belmont Entertainment, was the "wow" factor we felt walking into our wedding and seeing the Italian String lights strung magically like a spiders web above our Catering tables outside. It was the perfect illumination, and literally sparkled around the trees. For our dinner, the up lights brought the feeling of warmth and grandeur. Recently had DJ Sean Ryan for our wedding, he was above and beyond my expectations. I was blown away by his friendly demeanor and professionalism. Sean was able to find the perfect music for our wedding (we used mostly piano and cello covers of pop songs, I highly recommend it!) but more than that, he was able to keep everyone dancing and entertained. I was skeptical coming in that I would find a DJ that I would like (I tend to pay attention to the music closely and pick out transitions and key matching). What amazed me is that Sean was able to make me forget he was there (in a great way). The music flowed well, transitions were smooth, and he read the crowd perfectly. Along with his great skills as a DJ, Sean was also personable and helpful when setting up for and tearing down from the ceremony. Today is Tuesday - and I JUST got married on Saturday. While I have barely had a moment to come up for air, I wanted to make sure I shared my experience as soon as possible. My fiance and I had the pleasure of working with JUSTIN WHITE - and boom! He is simply AMAZING. Justin was calm, collected, organized, and hilarious - exactly what we needed when planning our Big Day. With quite a wide age range (14-75) in our group, we were concerned about having "something for everyone". We had Belmont DJ our wedding at the Monterey Plaza hotel this July and we could not have asked for a better company to work with. The two things that were of the utmost importance to us at our wedding were great music and an exceptional photographer. Luckily we had both but Jon Belmont played an enormous part in making our wedding day absolutely incredible. It's challenging to play music that spans several generations, keeps everyone happy, and the party going and Jon delivered on this promise and was simply the best. We had our wedding at The Perry House in September and he was an incredible MC, 100% on top of everything - he even checked up on us several times throughout the night to make sure we were having a good time and the music was what we had expected. In advance of the wedding, we had a general idea of what music we'd play however Jon excels at reading the audience and playing music that best suits the mood.
