I don't know what happened to him but my hair got worse and worse with the last 3 appts I had. The last appointment I with him lasted 7 hours because he FRIED my hair. I left with broken, dry hair with different shades of blonde, orange, brown and purple (toner). I literally looked like a striped tiger. AND he bleached the back of my shirt and said NOTHING to me. I don't mean a small spot I mean the entire upper half of my shirt. He let me leave looking there looking like a friggin hot mess for the cost of $300. He tried to hide how bad it was by cutting so much of my hair off and curling it so I wouldn't notice. I didn't have my glasses and I wa so mad about being there for so long that I just left. Which was my mistake, but most of the damage was in the back and on top of my head were I couldn't see and was a COMPLETELY different color than the front. And, my husband is the one who asked me what happened to my shirt. I knew it was wet, but I didn't know it was bleached. I was livid. Thankfully, I found someone who was wonderful at color correction and she knew EXACTLY who did this to my hair because he has a reputation in the hair community.....and not a good one. I now know why he is pretty much the only stylist at his shop. Stylists don't want to be associated with him. When you catch him on a "good" day you woll be pleased(read between the lines on what is happening with him) but if you catch him on a "bad" day, you are screwed. But as someone who came through Lake Charles for work, this visit stuck with me and not in a good way. I came in asking for a skin fade. Without being asked or discussed, I got a number one instead. If someone cannot do a skin fade, that is totally fine. Just say so. I would rather hear honesty than walk out with something I did not ask for. What really made it uncomfortable was the vibe. The stylist spent a good chunk of the appointment complaining about having to work. I get it. We would all rather be home with family or friends. But maybe do not bring that energy into the chair. It makes the whole experience awkward fast. I will say this. If you are a local, this seems like a solid spot. You can tell there are established relationships and regulars who are well taken care of. As a walk in, though, I definitely felt marginalized, like I was just something to get through rather than a customer. I still tipped her, which she seemed genuinely surprised by. That kind of summed it up. Two weeks later my hair grew out way too fast because of the cut, so I went to Supercuts instead. The difference was night and day. Better service, better attitude, better cut. They also got a much bigger tip without hesitation. I hate leaving reviews like this, but if you are charging for a service, quality, communication, and basic professionalism matter. Especially when someone is just passing through and hoping for something simple and respectful.
