On 09/07/24 my Yukan Denali broke down at Wendy's on Hal Greer across from Goldy's. My husband called the service manager Jeff on his day off to see if it was safe to jump the car. Jeff was at a ballgame but answered the call & offered to send someone to help. My husband called instead as to not disturb Jeff any more and reached out to Dustin (sales manager at Mitsubishi). Dustin immediately came down to check on me, checked a few things on the car and then drove me back up on the hill to his office. I called for a tow and he gave me a loaner to drive until they could get my Yukan repaired. He even transferred my belongings from the Yukan to the Jeep. Later he called to see if I made it home okay and wanted to know if I was happy with the Jeep. When I told him the seats hurt my back, he said he was off on Monday but would have me something else to drive on Monday that I could pick up. Turned out to be just the battery (original from 2018) they replaced it and I picked it up. Jeff and Dustin were outstanding and made sure of my safety. I drove about 10 feet before my Jeep shut down inside the dealership garage with multiple warning lights. The dealership kept my vehicle for six days. Initially, I was told I needed an auxiliary battery before they could continue diagnosing the issue. After some pushback from me not being happy about having to spend nearly $600 on a new auxiliary battery they later covered the battery and labor under warranty. They eventually diagnosed a blown fuse, which cost me over $200 to replace. My frustration isn't just the repair bill--it's that my Jeep arrived at the dealership running normally and became disabled immediately after the recall inspection, yet I never received a clear explanation for why that happened. I also wasn't provided a loaner vehicle while my Jeep was out of service for nearly a week. This wasn't my first concerning experience here. Last year, this dealership replaced part of my Jeep's electrical system and told me everything was fine. Less than a week later, my Jeep shut down while I was driving on the highway several states away. An independent shop ultimately replaced both batteries to resolve that issue. I appreciate that the dealership continued diagnosing my Jeep rather than immediately sending me home, and they did cover the auxiliary battery under warranty. However, based on my experiences, the communication, confidence in the repairs, and overall customer experience have left me disappointed.

This was about $20 cheaper than the price at the dealership so I went ahead and made an appointment. At no time was I told of any additional charges. I show up for my appointment and waited for over an hour for the work to be done. No big deal. At no point did I ever leave the waiting room. Again, I was still not told of any additional charges until the work was done and then I was told there was an additional $35 charge for a "code link reset". I argued that I should have been told of any possibility of additional charges at the time of scheduling or before the work was done as I could have had all this done at the dealership for a much cheaper price and without hidden costs. The guy gave me a whopping $5 off. Just another garage taking advantage of their female customers by adding costs and services without consulting them so they have no choice but to pay. I will NOT be going back.

I will not take my cars anywhere else…read more You might find a cheaper shop in town, but you won't find a more honest shop. Really, the honesty is what keeps me coming back. I also love this shop because, even though I'm a woman, they don't treat me like a complete idiot about cars (I'm a car nut and engineer). And when they tell me there's a problem, before they do any work they'll show me the problem, we can talk through what it is, we can discuss different options, and it's completely no pressure. Oddly enough, it makes me so much more willing to let them take good care of the cars. They're also one of few shops that doesn't refuse to use parts purchased by the customer. I'm a real hater about repair shops and dealerships, but these guys have won me over.

I am currently obtaining a lawyer…read moredue to the shoddy repair work done to my vehicle, which ultimately led to catastrophic engine failure one day after the repairs were "complete". I brought the vehicle to Dunn-Rite in late November of 2023, again on 12/7/23, and again on or about 1/5/24, and again on 1/26/24. I should also note that I provided the mechanic a Haynes manual which is based upon a complete teardown and rebuild of this vehicle. Their mechanic didn't even look at it as there were no signs of grease on the pages that would be present had a mechanic actually opened the book. The reason for each time the vehicle was brought to Dunn-Rite was to correct the poor workmanship they performed on my vehicle. That's four times I had them correct their faulty workmanship. After I inspected the car when I picked it up the first time, I found several damages and unauthorized work. The owner, Donnie Slone admitted to me that he had hired a mechanic whose qualifications they didn't verify upon his employment. This repair occurred on Thursday 12/7/23 and the mechanic who did the work was fired the following Monday, 12/11/23. The repairs to this vehicle were to install a used, but functional oil filter housing, install a brand new timing belt replacement kit, and install a brand new water pump, which includes all tensioners and gaskets. Coincidentally, the store Dunn-Rite routinely uses to order auto parts for their business is the same company that I am employed. The damages to my vehicle are as follows: 1. My valve cover was cracked. 2.My vacuum lines were installed incorrectly. 3. There was a broken fuel injector connector. 4. My spark plug wires weren't installed on the Ignition coil packs in the correct order. 5. The vehicle's brand new alternator wasn't even installed completely. 6. The vehicle was leaking engine coolant. 7. The vehicle had multiple engine misfires and ran poorly. 8. The vehicle's engine temperature was running close to the point of overheating after driving it 3-4 miles on the highway. The total bill for that visit was $500.00 dollars. At no point did Donnie Slone offer to pay for the damaged valve cover, but apologized for the shoddy work. I brought the vehicle back on approximately 12/5/23 have them fix what I already paid for and I was told by Zane Slone, the owner's son, that the brand new water pump was faulty. No proof of this was provided however, I purchased another brand new water pump. I also had to buy a new valve cover and gasket set to replace the one their mechanic cracked. When I picked up my vehicle the second time after being told the repairs were complete, the problem with the leaking coolant and loose alternator belt was still an issue. This time they also didn't install the alternator ground wiring harness, and the alternator mounting bolt wasn't even tightened to the appropriate ft/lbs of torque. They did however, install the valve cover I paid for since they didn't offer to buy a new one. The cost for this visit was $450 dollars. The last time I brought the vehicle to Dunn-Rite Automotive was on or about 1/26/24. The car had just been picked up the day prior, 1/25/24 and it was repeatedly stalling at every stoplight and I was on the way to take it back so they could fix it again when the engine completely failed. The vehicle sat at Dunn-Rite for a complete work week plus the weekend from 1/26/24-2/5/24. No one at Dunn-Rite even called me during the 5 day period my vehicle was at their location. I drove to the business on 2/5/24 and asked about the status of my car. Zane Slone, the owner's son, told me the engine was "completely locked up". I obviously knew this on 1/26/24 when the vehicle's engine failed while driving to their location so they would fix their shoddy work. I asked Zane Slone who was going to pay for fixing that and he replied "That would be you Sir". He also said "We can find you a new engine." I informed him that wasn't going to work and that I knew they would try to get out of paying for the terrible repair work they are responsible for fixing properly. I told him that I would see them in court. At which point he got an attitude and said "We'll be there." I replied " This isn't your business, it's your father's business and have him call me." As of this review, I haven't received a phone call from the owner, and I don't expect to. The Owner has a group of unqualified mechanics working there, minus one or two. His son is rude, arrogant, smug, and completely disrespectful. In closing, I will not be taking my business to this shop ever again. I am also employed in the automotive repair industry and I will not refer any of our customers to Dunn-Rite. Also, I feel I should include the fact that I am a retired Soldier, with over 20 years of service in the United States Army. If this business is willing to do this to a former Soldier, they'll do it to anyone. Be warned.

There have been times I've ASKED them to charge for things that they wrote off. Quality. These guys know what they're doing. They should have given up on my car several times, but kept with an especially difficult electrical problem with our car. Respect. They treat you like family and explain everything fully. Integrity. These guys back up the jobs that they do. Other mechanics might abandon a project once it's paid. Not these guys. I can't recommend them highly enough.

At first I thought they were great. I had an oil change. Then I opened my hood after getting home…read more I noticed that they didn't put the cap back on the oil. I called to tell them. They seem like they were friendly and professional. And said they would give me a free tuneup. So I returned. Because I needed struts and shocks all around then I had them install new high Performance Monroe struts and shocks.again very nice and friendly. Now I know why. They did halfway. The rear springs both sides were cut with a torch! And the struts were not new. No wonder they were so nice. But I was going to call them to schedule another oil change. They never called me back or responded to my messages. Because I without realizing what they did. Found out 1 1/2 later. So just case any mechanic is extra nice and friendly. Be very cautious and alert. Check out their work before driving away.
