Melissa is simply great! She not only switched around her schedule to accommodate me, she also checked in with me while I was in the hospital to make sure we were still on track with the picture time( newborn pics are usually taken within 2 weeks of the baby's birth). On the creative end she listened to my ideas and did her hardest to recreate my vision. I wanted lots of colors and a picture created with Diwali(festival of lights) theme in mind. Melissa did not the necessary research and even went to purchase several items to make things happen perfectly. During the day of the shoot she as quick,efficient and truly a baby whisperer. My baby slept through the entire shoot! Her studio is also perfect with the temperature adjust for the baby's comfort. She has diapers, breast pump, baby wipes, hand sanitizers, in short all essentials needed for new moms and babies. She also has a nook for snacks for the parents and outfit options for moms to wear at the shoot. I also got my pictures within 2 weeks which was amazing. Additionally, even after getting the pictures I was not happy with one particular picture and Melissa did her damnest to make it better including offering to retake the pic. Overall: I loved working with Melissa and will definitely keep going back to her for more professional pictures.

You will get outstanding photography that will make everyone you know - even people who know good photography - ooh and awwwwwww. Being "of the industry" i took particular interest in researching Atlanta photographers as we planned the birth of our son, Jesus. Just kidding, his name is Asher. Anyway...blaspheming aside... Jess rose to the top and while i had particular concerns with her rates and policies regarding use of photography (again, just an industry thing) we jumped in. Jess's studio is in Brookhaven, in the basement of a very nice house. Of the probably 1000 square feet of space, perhaps only 150 square feet is dedicated to the studio but it's more than enough. Actually, it was very efficient. Natural light casts on the shooting space and Jess quickly and efficiently changes out props and settings to get the best shot and the most variety possible. They have a storage space that also has additional props and she rolls with the punches if you have a creative suggestion. She's also a complete infant charmer despite, to my knowledge, that she doesn't have a kid of her own. She knocked our dude out in no time with a few taps to the rump. Our photos were exactly what we expected - everyone we know adores the photography and we'll absolutely get our use of them. While we ordered our announcements on our own, we did purchase the digital rights to a select number of photos as well as a few photo books that included all of the selects. We kept one and gave 1 to each of our sets of parents and they show them off like they were bars of gold wrapped in platinum. Everything turned out great. When you consider what you'll do with the photos, I would advise you to consider what is the value of 3 or 4 photos that you'll use over and over and/or display for years and years. I think you'll come to the same conclusion i did - paying a little more (or a lot in some cases) is worth it if the quality matches your expectation. It did mine.

The photos were breathtaking, but we decided against scheduling a shoot due to financial considerations. After our daughter was born, I reconsidered that decision. Our little girl was truly a miracle and a blessing. My wife gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby girl last March after years of trying. I decided to give Jess a call. Jess likes to schedule newborn shoots within the first 14 days of birth and I had called to schedule a shoot with Heidi on day 12. Remarkably, Jess made time in their schedule to fit our little girl in on Good Friday that same week. Heidi was a true professional in every stage of the process. Her photography was masterful and I was blessed to be able to see her work over the course of a 3 hour mini-shoot. She kept the studio on the toasty side and blasted a white noise machine to help soothe our little one into the perfect poses. It is still remarkable to me how Heidi was able to capture these incredible shots, but I have the photo album, prints and birth announcements to prove that she did. My wife and I could not have been happier with the finished products. They are absolute works of art. Heidi also recommended the right layout, colors, fonts and page thickness of our photo album and created the most beautiful birth announcements we could possibly imagine. Her calm demeanor allows her to be a voyeur in your pet's daily life. She was able to capture images of how I see my dog and cat on a daily basis. I could also tell that she spends a lot of time working on the photos post production as the shots didn't just appear that way (especially doggie eye boogers magically disappearing). I decided to contact her after seeing an email from work that she does with a pet rescue agency. As soon as I saw her photos I knew I had to hire her for a surprise birthday gift for my partner. Plan ahead folks especially if you chose to have a book made. She is not just coming to your house with a point and shoot camera on a scooter - she is a true professional. The day of the shoot was a breeze. She had already prepared me via email on what to expect and how long the process would take. After the shoot she had samples of all the incredible options she offers. It was no hard sell and after I saw the proofs - I knew I had to have a book created. The proofs almost brought me to tears as they were beyond beautiful as images but most importantly - they captured the essence of, stealing from her own tag line, unconditional love. I still look at the photos and a thought goes through my head - wow are my pets that gorgeous? The details are so sharp and warm (I was especially happy that I spent 2 days prior cleaning the house so she wouldn't be shooting dust bunnies too!) I have no regrets whatsoever and secretly want to rush out and adopt more pets so she can come back and capture their essence in photos so I can have them forever and ever.

It didn't matter - my shy dog acted like she had known Leesia for years and posed for beautiful pictures. Then I got a puppy and had photos done for him. I'm so glad I had Leesia capture him as a pup and we will have similar photographs of him growing up.
