I purchased my home in Philadelphia in August of 2014. I was told that my house had a brand new…read moreroof put on in May of 2011 and that the roof had a "10 year warranty on materials and installation." In December of 2014 I discovered a leak in my third floor bathroom that ran down the wall and completely destroyed my ceiling and the drywall. I contacted Palmer Construction Management regarding the leak and was told that since yearly maintenance was not performed on my roof the warranty was not enforceable and that they would not cover the repairs. I contacted another roofer and had my roof sealed to fix the problem. This seal lasted until December of 2016, when the same leak reappeared and again completely destroyed the same bathroom. Because my warranty was "invalid" I again contacted another roofer to fix the problem and was told that the roof is of poor quality and has a lot of areas of weakness and should be replaced. This is roof is only 5 1/2 years old. This leads me to two conclusions: 1) The warranty provided by Palmer Construction Management is not a warranty - it is a guarantee for Palmer Construction to (a) either get more money from you by requiring yearly service on a roof (I do not know anyone who does that in Philadelphia), or (b) get out of ever actually having to follow through on performing work covered by the warranty. 2) I would NEVER recommend Palmer Construction Management to family, friends, or acquaintances. There are plenty of roofers in the city - and the warranties provided by these roofers are actually warranties.

He didn't overcomplicate the project or load me up with roofing jargon like other contractors did. Their quote came in customized to our project and was built to have no large "extra material " surprises when the project closed. They were always communicative and friendly about the project. When they encountered a situation that was abnormal, they walked me through the issue and offered resolutions that would've cost them money. They seem to be stand-up craftsmen who want to do a good job at all costs and don't treat their customers like just another number. If you are going to invite anyone to do work on their home especially on your roof, they are the type to get.

These scammers ripped me off, paid $350 cash for nothing. the 2 guys who came out had a hard time climbing a ladder and walking on my roof which is not that steep as the guys from state farm were able to easily walk on my roof. once on the roof, they claim that they found nothing wrong but wanted $350 for just coming out. What a scam. I Had to call Home Depot to send out one of their contractors to repair my roof, they put flashing boot and sealer around one of their boots (pipes) coming out of of the roof. It's a simple fix that these guys missed. Stay away from these guys, save your money and go w/ someone else. I would recommend talking w/ your local Home Depot or Lowe's to recommend someone. These guys are overpriced and a disappointment.

Hired Pristine Exteriors to do 15 house windows, its frame (the entire window) and got an estimate from Jay Hughes. Reasonable. He spent about five hours and did an outstanding job. He got his work ethic from his time in the Marine Corps and those core values by the grandparents that raised him. I can't say enough and am completing every review this baby boomer can figure out.

This is not the case with Jeff Kunkle and Pristine Home Exteriors. This needs to be shared in hopes of preventing others from making the same mistake. I hired Jeff Kunkle and Pristine Home Exteriors in April 2024 to address a leaking roof and water damage on the front of my house. Work began in May and continued for months. Although the work itself was sloppy on the finishes- "Pristine" is an incredible misnomer!- and Jeff often did not respond to calls or show up when he said he would, for the most part, the work was being completed and the leaks had stopped. This began to change when the invoices were mostly paid. When that happened, calls/texts were left unanswered and days on-site became few and far between. What's more troubling is the issue with the windows. I was told I needed new windows, at a cost of over $7,000 for both the windows and installation. Initially, I was informed that the windows would take 10 weeks to arrive, which seemed odd but not concerning at the time. After the wait,I was told the windows had arrived in the wrong color and could not be painted without voiding the warranty. Then, the story changed again: I was told the windows were never actually ordered, and that an employee of Jeff's had left town with the money. The inconsistencies in these stories grew more unbelievable over time. Furthermore, it turns out that the windows were never even necessary, and Jeff now admits he owes me a refund for this, which I'm sure I'll never see. We were left without repayment, an unfinished front of house, and unfinished roof ledge and owed money for the windows which never arrived. I have similarly left feedback with the Better Business Bureau and will pursue small claims court to recover my losses. Please stay far away from Jeff Kunkle, Pristine Home Exteriors or whatever business is subsequently spun up when this one is bankrupted.

The sales rep / the point of contact has not answered a single text message or phone call since they left our premises. The shingles manufacturer, GAF, confirmed the contractor's existence in their system but do not have a record of our job and could not help us with the 50 year 100% coverage warranty. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

Choosing a roofing contractor was indeed a daunting, stressful, task. Most folks probably know that post-pandemic home projects have doubled, tripled, and quadrupled in cost. So, yeah, the 5-6 estimates we got went from A to Z. Assessing roof decking (plywood) damage, can't be certain until the shingles are removed. So you can't get your arms around total cost of roof replacement until the project is uetswood were free as per the contract. Other roofers said we needed to replace all 44 pieces at around $100/sheet. Yeah, it's safe to say Heimbach Bros. are honest trustworthy. That's what Heimbach Bros delivered in every aspect of the roof replacement. We dodged a bullet, and made the right choice. The crew showed up on time on the morning of the job. They are knowledgible, no-nonsense, skilled, and expedient in performing their job. The clean-up was thorough, exhaustive, and as complete as it can be. Heimbach Bros. uses GAF Timberline HDZ roofing products, well known in the roofing industry as a top quality asphalt shingle. Customers and contractors beware!! We hired Prestige Craftsmanship on approximately July 24, 2018…read moreto remodel our master bathroom with a customized shower and walk in closet for $10,500. We were to provide the main bathroom furniture and finishing materials like tiles, toilet, sink, lights, etc. And Prestige Craftsmanship was to provide all labor and the working materials. The work was estimated to be 2 weeks, however, after about 2 months Prestige Craftsmanship had walked away from the job, incomplete and a mess. Prior to beginning the demolition, the bedroom furniture was not covered, so the entire room and furniture are completely covered with drywall, concrete and fiberglass dust. Eric Headley (the owner of Prestige Craftsmanship) promised to have the room cleaned along with an area of the carpet replaced that was damaged by him from foam insulation. The shower has to be completely redone due to "substandard materials and poor craftsmanship" according to the tile expert we brought in after noticing many areas of concern. The $1400 sink that we purchased has been damaged due to the poor attempt that Mr. Headley made to cut holes for the plumbing, which we specifically asked him not to do. The drywall and doors in both the bathroom and closet remained unfinished and unpainted. The floor in the closet is damaged and sticking up near the entry creating a safety hazard. Both baseboard heaters were removed and never put back. During this whole ordeal, we remained patient and tried to be understanding. We were even asked to pay, and did pay, an extra $1000 that wasn't due until the work was complete. However, according to him, he needed to pay the plumber he hired. Who he did not even wind up paying. Friday, October 5th was the last day he worked. That next Monday, October 8th he text that he would not be in due to time running out and hurting his back. By Tuesday, October 9th, he responded to our text inquiring when he would be back to finish in which he responded that he would not be back because he took another job and wouldn't have the time.
