Not too far from Kilkenny on the N78. There is so much to see and do. You can park at the car park and take the nice walk following the path to the fairy houses and zipline in the back. Easy, flat walk. Perfect to take in a fresh Irish air. There is also a great little play area in the front with climbing wall, tire swings, etc. All in great shape and well taken care of. You can expect to stay anywhere from an hour to several hours if you wish. There is also a nice little café with clean toilets and might fine coffee. All make for happy kids and a nice, cheap little stop off...

wear your wellies and prepare to get down and dirty! this little pet farm is located just at the…read moreoutskirts of Carlow town. there are a few animals, although not too many actual farm animals but you can see a cow or two in the distance. but they do have rabbits, snakes, guinea pigs and some falabella ponies and donkeys. the children get to handle and hold the small animals under supervision of the farm staff and then get a ride on the wee pony or the donkey for the older children. there are plenty of tractors and go-carts to ride on. basically this place is good for at least 2 hours fun for the children. there is an indoor cafe for the adults. i believe that the farm are going to have a little musuem for antique farm equipment, they are only open about 1 year i think.

Their croissants are probably the best in Ireland. The conference venue is suitable for about 20-30 people max. When I was there for the conference (2004) they did not have a computer projector and we had to supply our own. At least they had the screen. Best to ask about their AV facilities before booking. It's hard work, not an easy fix short cut. But coupled with the sensible eating plan (not a fad diet) it gives great results. There is a real team atmosphere between the clients and staff. You feel the staff are interested in helping you get the results you deserve. I couldn't recommend Evo enough. Its the best system I've tried since giving up team sport. Its made a real difference. Worth the time, money and effort.

It is a huge park where you can spend hours if you like with lots of different flowers, trees, plants - most of them with name plate. I had my camera with me so took my time, but even without or with your kids running around it's well worth a visit (and any detour) I think. It has formal gardens (not ususally my taste, but these were still nice to look at), with a rather derelict old house, a huge informal park inclusive a smal temple, river walk and a sea full of water lilies. And there's also a walled garden, parts of it rather organised and other parts just full of flowers in all colours side by side. There's a lovely little cafe in the walled gardens - as I don't find much information about it I don't start an own business entry for that. I had a savoury scone (buttermilk and soda) with local cheese and beetrot chutney and a large cappuccino - for € 6.40. Apart from it being very tasty I loved the cafe for being in the middle of a garden with little bits and pieces selected to make it feel like home. There is also a hen family running around in the walled garden / cafe which makes it even nicer to sit there and relax. It belongs to OPW which means it has the added advantage of free entrance. And they have a nursery / shop so you can buy flowers and trees for your own garden.

Very pretty place to walk your dogs or let them run off the lease. As a runner, I am only giving it three stars. If I was a walker or a dog owner I would give it four. The reason being, it's not the most challenging run. Yes there is a decent incline as you come towards the end but it feels like it's only around 2 miles, and I hate looping round in circles. If you just want a nice light run or are new to the running game; it's a great place to start. But the wind tunnel in there can be a bitch. The lack of shelter causes that in my opinion. Views of the countryside are fantastic.
