For me waiting for a response from Dominion Accounting is better than receiving refund a day after they just filed their taxes. May I request for a form, I forgot to print the form that was sent to me from Dominion Accounting & Income Tax Services.

Apparently they've been around since 1980, so even though their office was rundown, I thought as…read moreproper accountants, as they claimed, I'd be safe to talk with them about getting my tax return done. The radio in the office was constantly slightly off the station, so it was half static. When the accountant "Josie" showed up in her jeans, I went in her office that reeked so badly of her perfume that it set off my asthma and allergies. There's a very strong language and/or knowledge barrier and I had a hard time understanding what she'd say. I had to ask her to repeat herself, to which she'd give an annoyed smile and say nothing. I had to ask several times. She also clearly didn't understand me, as I had to explain myself several times. She kept insisting I was self employed when I am not. She kept insisting I give her my utility costs, and when I told her it was included in my rent, she kept saying, "yes. Fill out." and pointed to the utility space on a form. (this type of thing happened several times) Finally after about 5 minutes of frustration I asked for my papers back. She handed me what I thought was everything, but apparently she kept my T4s. I left thinking I had all my things, until I went to the accountant I ended up using, (who was amazing) and realized I didn't get back my T4s. I called Dominion and asked the receptionist to please have my papers ready at the front desk as I'd be there in 15 minutes, to which she agreed. When I got there, she told me to sit and wait, to which I responded I was just picking up forms and the perfume in Josie's office is so strong I don't want to go in. She either didn't understand me or didn't care. Josie came out and asked me to follow her into her office, to which she tried to blackmail me; saying that if I wanted to get my T4s back I'd have to pay the tax return fee of $60 because she'd inputed my T4 information (without my permission) but that doesn't come close to doing my taxes as they are very complex, due to my career. I told them they couldn't keep my forms and that I would not be paying them for a tax return that wasn't done. I also explained why I wouldn't have them do my taxes, as they're clearly unqualified. When another employee came in I took my folder off of Josie's desk. She then tried grabbing it back from me, pulling on the forms and folders forcing me to tug of war to get my T4s from her. Once I got them free the other woman did the same until I said I'd call the police if they touched me again. They told me I was stealing because the folder holding the T4s was theirs. I said I'd bring it back this afternoon when my T4s were safe with a real accountant. That is what I did. Brought back the folder and left it on the front desk. Terrible customer service. I've filed complaints with the BBB and notified CRA.
