I reached out to Landmark Retrievers after randomly commenting on how relaxed and well behaved my…read morefriend's dog was and learned she went there. My dog had been threw very basic, weekly training from 5 to 8 months so when I contacted Roger, I let him know Oscar knew how to sit, lay down, etc. on command; however, he was becoming unmanageable on a leash and developing terrible anxiety to the point where he would shake every time he was outside and any time he'd hear a noise, (I live in downtown Dallas so there's a ton of it) he'd freak out, get low to the ground, and pull me back home to his safety. After Oscar worked with Roger and Megan for 6 weeks, plus weekly visits, he's honestly a different pup. He's confident. He's silly. I joke with my friends he's back to puppy Oscar ways. Oscar 2.0. He still has anxiety, but it's easily manageable. I use the commands they taught us to redirect attention to calm him down and continue our walk or whatever adventure we're on. While in training, every week when I met with him, he was extremely happy to see me but also happy when I told him goodbye and I'd see him in a few days. When the 6 week training program was complete and finishing our final working session to head back home, he ran around the Land Retrievers yard licking, snuggling the employees. Hard for me to say but I'm also so happy, he loved it there. He didn't want to leave. That's so telling. I plan to board Oscar at Landmark Retrievers whenever I leave town moving forward. It was a really great experience and very reasonably affordable. I'm definitely happy I was pointed toward Roger and Megan.

Would never deal with breeder again. First, I've enclosed…read morepictures of proof that I purchased a puppy from them and also emails between us. I admit I got caught up in having my puppy, I over looked the signs in the emails. A mother dog won't let the breeder touch the puppies and get so upset about it she kills her little baby. My purchase experience. Before placing my deposit i confirmed via phone and email multiple times that i could come to their kennel on puppy pick up day to select my puppy and see the parents along with facilities. These 3 things were very important to me and i stressed that multiple times. She was so nice and each time getting a quote from her that "that's how we do it" (Have text messages proof) A week before puppy pick up day, She asked me to call her and said the puppies will be ready at 7 weeks. She said they wanted to be held all the time and she didn't have the time to take care of them. We drove 300 miles one way to see our new baby. When we were approximately 30 minutes away, she calls and says that they have had rain and that she didn't want her road rutted up so meet at Walmart. We didn't like it but was trying to be respectful. After we thought about how unsafe it would be for the puppies with diseases and vehicles we called her back asking for another place or if possible we would drive very carefully down her road if that was easier or I could walk in. It was then she started yelling at us and calling us liars and making all sorts of insane accusation about us. We finally calmed her down and though we wanted to turn away we had come so far and she had our deposit money. And we reasoned, After all it's not the puppies fraught. We met her. It was scary at best. We quickly chose one, something i had not wanted to do ...quickly choose my new best friend and service dog, but i did. Needless to say the puppy had not been properly socialized , cares nothing about being held, and nothing about being inside. She has however come around and loves being with people now, learning to potty outside (though she said she was already trained at 7 weeks??), and enjoys the house but way to active to be held even today. Some may have had good experiences with her but she literally ruined what should have been a beautiful experience.
