I used to love this place! Something is different and maybe they have new groomers but I have not been satisfied with my dog cuts. I think instead of combing them out, they rather shave all of the dog hair off. I told the lady I did not want my dog her shaved all off and when I went to pick her up, I was disappointed. I knew she would have a few tangles but she definitely didn't need to be shaved all off. If you have a golden doodle, maybe try finding somewhere who has patience and understand the coat. If you have a small dog, this place would be perfect for you. read more

Wow! Is right when you pick up your pet from Bow Wow! Our rescue Mabel went for her first grooming yesterday and let me just say, I have not seen her more happy or more glamorous! She was smiling the whole way home to where her nose was wrinkling. Her fur feels so soft, and smells SO good! She had the de-shedding treatment and now I can pet her without hair flying off everywhere! I cannot say enough good things about the staff, they are so kind, and caring. My truck ended up having issues after dropping off my dog there and the owner, Michael, came out with one of the very sweet groomers, Tina, to help. Not a great haircut for my babies. I am very disappointed. I thought it was a really cool looking place.

Today I picked up our 7 month old Min Schnauzer "Finley" from Bow-Wow! Barbers. What a WORLD of difference!! Lynn, the stylist, did an amazing job on Finley and he's a super hyper, crazy, barking puppy. She's like the dog grooming whisperer! This was only his 2nd time ever being groomed after a bad experience at another groomer left him scared, with a horrible cut and terrible customer service to me. I explained everything that happened and the store manager, owner and receptionist really went above and beyond to make his experience great today. He looks wonderful and I am beyond grateful for all the staff who took great care of him. He was happy, smelled great and looked amazing when I picked him up! Thank you all SO SO MUCH! (if anyone is wondering his front leg hair is still growing back from being shaved when he was neutered). read more

We have been using Bow Wow for over 12 years. Started taking our Yorkie there right after we got her. When Shirley owned it, it was great! She sold it to Michael, and it was still great! Michael passed away and now there are new owners. They let several employees go including the girl who grooms my Yorkie. Took her in over a week ago and they absolutely butchered her. Her fur is uneven and scraggly looking, the fur on her legs is longer than on her body and the fur around her face is long and dirty. I emailed and have yet to hear back (other than a missed call, they left no voicemail). I would very much so NOT recommend them anymore. We are following our groomer to her new shop in Midlothian. read more

I have been taking my dog to Bow Wow Barbers ever since Shirley owned the business. It has gone through many changes over the years yet they maintained their good service until yesterday when I took my dog in. My regular groomer did not cut my dog's hair. The cut was sub par. I found an area of matted hair that was not cut. Then, they charged me $14.00 more that I have been paying!! With a tip, the cost was almost a hundred dollars! I am so disappointed! I will not be back. It's sad to me when a wonderful business changes owners and things go downhill. I have had a good relationship with BowWow Barbers for many many years. It has a giant glass wall by the parking area, and a divider separating the front, check-in area (with tip jarS requesting extra money for training for groomers) from the back, grooming area. They know my Dixie by name and treat her like a little princess. Every person who works at Bow Wow is an animal lover and treats each dog with care. Dixie, my Yorkie, has been going to Bow Wow since we moved to Waxahachie 7 years ago. Shirley, the owner, is wonderful and Dixie gets so excited when she gets to see Michael or one of the other bathers. The store is clean, the animals well treated, and they do great cuts/bows. There really is no comparing Bow Wow Barbers to other groomers in Ellis County. They are professional, friendly, helpful, and very thorough in brushing, bathing, and clipping. I haven't found any of those qualities in ANY other Ellis County groomers. read more

I called and was able to get my fur baby, Dusty, in the same day. Tina greeted us and they took the time to thoroughly explain everything to me and find out more about Dusty. They took extreme care and concern with him and he looked so fabulous when he was finished. He new he had his handsome Rockstar status, it was evident in his walk and HUGE smile. Took my schnauzer in for a cut. The place is immaculate, friendly and definitely pet friendly. The only thing is my dog looked like she was clipped by a beginner. Her hair was way too long. I don't think the groomer had ever clipped a schnauzer. Too bad because everything else was good. They were more expensive than Petsmart for the same service which surprised me. read more

I love this place. I have been bringing my dogs here for at least a decade now (at least that's what it feels like), and they have seen me through two corgi puppies. The staff is so nice and the owner definitely has a way with dogs. My pup isn't scared or anxious at all when I bring him there, and even behaves for his nail trim!
