Knowledgeable about all the latest skincare, she takes the time to thoroughly check and evaluate your skin and explain what she sees and how to best treat it, including holistic methods if that's an interest for you. A few years ago, it was clear I had bad interactions with different ingredients in products, but we didn't know which they what. Theresa uses a special system of skin testing that comes from Canada and will give you not only what you're reacting to, but gives you lists of current products on the market that contain it. When I moved back to DC, my excellent dermatologist there had never heard of this testing program and wanted to purchase it herself. I'm now living in New England and as family is local here, I figured why not come back to Theresa versus try my luck with another? Her front desk staff is super warm and friendly and fit me in quickly. Her new office is super cute and there's even a fresh juice bar inside. Her esthetician does consults for different services, including makeup using the highest quality products. He definitely takes the time to explain everything and answer any questions you have. When I first started going to him in elementary school, the wait time was INSANE (unless you had an early AM appointment)!!! The average was up to an hour or more -- I guess appointments were scheduled for every 10 minutes and he never spent just 10 minutes with someone. Sometimes I felt like he was a bit too cautious, though. One time I broke my ankle (I was about 13). I knew something was wrong, I had broken bones before. It was swollen, I couldn't put weight on it, my mom called him and over the phone he told her, "Just wait it out. You know how kids can be." My mom decided to bring me to the ER and sure enough, it was broken. The 2nd experience was a little more damaging. I was 16, extremely ill with vomiting, high fever of 104, coughing, and disgustingly enough, incontinence (definitely not normal for an overall healthy teen!). Had the receptionist not listened to my mom and forced an appointment, the doctor never would have seen me. When he did, he tested me for diabetes because I was drinking a lot of water in the office (obviously I didn't have it) and said I probably had a stomach virus -- and the reason my chest hurt was because of all the vomiting. He sent me home and told me to come back in a couple days if it didn't get better. Long story short, the next day I was in the ER after my lung collapsed, I was diagnosed with pneumonia, hospitalized for a month, and needed 2 surgeries to drain fluid after my lung smothered my heart and caused me to enter heart failure (all my limbs were swollen, hard, and blue/purple). He was greatly apologetic afterward, which was nice, but I had a difficult time trusting him after he almost killed me as a teen.

This is my initial review based on my experience and visit. The staff is friendly. Heather performed skin tightening laser treatment. I have recently been diagnosed with rosacea and she focused on the areas where I am starting to see some redness. She was very friendly and attentive. Since I have never had this performed anywhere before, I really have no baseline to compare it to. She could have been super thorough or not nearly thorough enough and I would have no clue! She initially cleaned my face, applied the laser and then a tightening mask. The whole process was approximately one hour. I was told that the collagen production doesn't increase for 3 weeks and it takes 3 sessions to see results. Stay tuned on results but experience-wise, it was good.
