It's a very cute little park at the foothill of a mountain. The kids really enjoyed the play structure. swings, LARGE grassy play area, and the spongee floor. Yep, I said "spongee". The ground beneath the play structure is filled with recycled (I'm guessing) rubber bits so walking on them makes folks slightly bounce. The park is right around the corner from the downtown area and on the way out of town. It was just the trick to get my littles out and about.

My preteen kids said it was one of the best shows they have seen due to our close proximity to the lighting of the fireworks! Everything seemed bigger! Explosions louder! We were practically right under most of the explosions in the sky, with ambers literally falling on top of us / the spectators! Perhaps because if the dry air. At the very end of the show, our fears were realized as one last firework exploded on the ground, and some cardboard shrapnels flew into the spectators, hitting some of them. Fortunately, we think there were no injuries! We were just glad that we could attend and celebrate 4th of July far from home!

The Coral Pink Sand Dunes are beautiful and vast-although they are not quite as coral pink as I had imagined. When you visit, you can opt to rent an ATV or a sled and play in the sand like a toddler. I didn't do that during my visit, but I think I might give it a try another time. Be prepared for hot sand in the summer months and wind, which means potential sand in your eyes. Goggles might be a worthy accessory if you're going to spend more than a few minutes out here.

This National Monument preserves the history of the location (due to the natural spring oasis in…read morethe desert), showcasing how Kaibab Paiute and the Mormon settlers used the surrounding land. There's a visitor center with a museum, historic fort, cabins, and garden. Make your first stop at the visitor center to check out the museum to get context about why this area was important. There's a bunch of exhibits and a museum. There's also a gift shop with books and souvenirs. Behind the building is a short path to the fort. You can see the spring's outlet through a pipe in the fort (although I confirmed with the volunteer that the water is now pumped out due to the water table dropping below the soil level - it's no longer an artesian spring). There's also a pen with longhorn cattle - don't get too close since they can be unpredictable. There are also several buildings for self guided tours. Great monument - the volunteers and rangers were very friendly.

The Visitor's Center is extremely well designed and the history of the natives and LDS pioneers in the area is very thorough and exceptionally well presented. I also had the privilege of visiting the main historical building where another incredibly helpful ranger answered my mass of questions. He, too, was extremely knowledgeable about the area and history. This isn't a monument you will want to spend a whole day visiting; after all, it's only 400 acres. But, if you're driving through Fredonia, don't miss it.

We got to there 10 min before our tour, met Raymond, our tour guide and 3 of us climbed in the Jeep. Peekaboo Canyon is amazing and not for outside of Kanab. Definitely need a 4x4 and to know how to drive in deep sand. It's an easy hike into the canyon. Raymond offered stories, history, and geology facts. Also, tips for the best settings on your phone to get even better pictures... plus showing the best places to take a picture...and he made sure to take a few of us with our phones. A great tour we highly recommend!

This is a fairly decently sized visitor center that contains a lot of information about the geology and archeology of the area. There are also a lot of pamphlets about attractions in the area. When I visited, the officer was trying to handle planning an entire week's trip for things to do for someone who apparently did zero planning into the area. Seriously. She didn't know that The Wave needed permits and was upset she couldn't visit on a whim (and without proper hiking tools). She also did not have a high clearance, 4WD/AWD vehicle. So, a lot a cool things to do were closed off to her out of safety. The ranger was very kind and patient through all of it though. I finally got my quick question answered after. The exhibits were good to look at and quite informational.

The trails on AllTrail got blocked due to the fence. Please wear paint cover to your shoes. Because you may need to walk on the weed floor which the do have thorns. The Diana's Throne is a big sand hill with multiple colors. The base is beautiful when you reach it. We did advance because of block trail. Bottom of hill was blow by wind for many year and caused the wave to be presented. Do not park your car in the sand. You won't be able to get it out.

Brett was phenomenal. He made every one of us feel completely safe and confident through all the rappels (5 or 7, depending on who's counting -- we lost track because we were having too much fun). He struck that perfect balance of professional guide and enthusiastic local -- he clearly loves this place and knows it deeply, from the geology of the rocks to the broader mountaineering history of the area. That kind of knowledge just adds another layer to the whole experience. We drove over from our lodge to Easton Zion, and I'll be honest -- I wondered briefly if it was worth the extra time. It absolutely was. As a bonus, Brett had a great eye for photos, so we came home with some incredible shots to prove we actually did it. Breathtaking cannot begin to describe the views and nature we were surrounded in. I was impressed with Jillian's knowledge of the terrain and history of the area that she shared with us. She is friendly, kind, professional and above all clearly an expert guide concerned with our safety. We were lucky to actually have 2 guides on our tour as Darren was our photographer. It was a nice ride in his 6 seater can-am. The ride was way to rough for a normal car and it looked like you could get lost way to easy. Jeff was very knowledgable and gave us a little lesson on geological make up of the area. We had a great time and got some great pictures. I would do this trip again. His prices were very reasonable and Jeff was not it a rush. Take your time and enjoy the journey.
