Good thing, too, since she later went violin shopping with me and found me my perfect instrument.

Before I…read moretook CJ's Virtual PMP Master Class, I was having a difficult time grasping PMP concepts and process framework through self-study. His use of relatable analogies and engaging anecdotes activated parts of my brain that I feel helped convert concepts into my own logical ideas and practical experience, thus helping me to remember the content. If you've ever fallen asleep reading the PMBOK, then this course is for you - definitely 100% worth the investment!! I ended up being the only student in the course due to a group rescheduling and was given the option keep the course or roll into the next one. I decided to take the course and although I'm sure solo is a very different experience vs. group, feel very fortunate to have had this sort of "coaching" type experience. The statement on the course webpage "Guaranteed to run on dates listed" is 100% accurate. Case in point - CJ is a devoted Dodgers fan and instead of watching the world series live, opted to hold the session scheduled for that evening which speaks volumes about his dedication to his students' success and his profession! I didn't even know there was a baseball game on. I still can't believe I was able to memorize earned value management formulas in less than an hour. CJ shares tried and true best practices to help prepare for exam day as well as valuable test-taking approaches that I don't really see anywhere else. After each session I felt even more energized and motivated than the last. Thanks so much CJ!!

She's engaging and makes the sessions fun for our daughter. Jasmine is local, but given the current environment she teaches our daughter online. Unlike other online programs where there may be a language barrier between the teacher and student, the ease with which Jasmine switches from English to Chinese and vice versa makes the lessons so much more effective. Moreover, the students feel heard and understood so there isn't a lot of time wasted on misunderstandings. During the lessons, Jasmine always stays focused and gently keeps my daughter on task. She has learned more with Jasmine in the last 6 months than she did in the last couple of years at Chinese school. If you want your child to learn Chinese, I strongly recommend you reach out to Jasmine!

I am well into my adulthood and was yearning to practice and continue using Cantonese again. It's cute to understand but I wanted to be more active with it. It is incredibly useful in my profession. I have basic sentence structure down and some vocabulary. I found it difficult to practice with family because they tend to be impatient, and realistically, judgmental. I found Jasmine and was so glad I did! We had twice weekly Zoom sessions and she was very well worth it. She was patient with me and walked me through a workbook. While most languages can be learned through an app or book, the tonality of Cantonese is VERY important. Are you saying horse or mother, the number four or dead. Tones matter so having a teacher to give you feedback right on the spot is so valuable. I went back to school and still work my full time job so I don't get to have as many lessons as I want. I HIGHLY recommend Jasmine for her patience, knowledge and teaching style. Need to learn Cantonese? Get a hold of her!

He'd come home talking about his teachers, Ms Laura and Ms Diana, and how much he loved going, which as a parent is truly the best thing you can hope for. The project-based learning kept him excited and engaged, and the Spanish immersion program has been such a gift. Watching him pick up the language so naturally has been incredible to witness. The community they built also meant a lot to us. They were intentional about bringing families together through school events, and it made the whole experience feel really special. You felt connected, not just like a family dropping their kid off. We're so grateful our son got to spend time there and would wholeheartedly recommend them to any family in their area.

It was clear that each day was filled with both learning and fun. As parents, we also appreciated their prompt communication, frequent photos, and reasonable prices for full time care. The facility was always tidy and clean, and they must do a great job getting the kids to wash their hands, as we had far fewer illnesses than at our prior in-home daycare. The community of families was also wonderful, and we made many new friends that we've continued meeting up with. We'd highly recommend A Step Ahead for anyone looking for a high quality Spanish and/or Montessori preschool in a small, close-knit setting.

Miranda was able to immediately connect with him and meet him where he was. She is warm, kind and is adaptable to any mood or level of focus he has that day. He always looks forward to their weekly sessions! She has truly helped improve his organizational skills and writing ability (previously a non-preferred task for him). She has also helped interface with his teachers and school (independent east bay school) in a way that has really benefited him. Miranda has really helped him schoolwork that more accurately reflects his abilities. In addition to helping him break up and strategize for his homework assignments, she also works on skill building (taking notes, doing research, learning citations, editing, estimating how long a piece of work will take). These skills have blossomed and will continue to help him as he transitions to middle school. I can see a notable increase in his confidence when he tackles new assignments. I highly recommend Meyerson Education services. Miranda has really been a game-changer for my son and our family!

If you are motivated and willing to advocate for yourself, you can receive a solid education and prepare to transfer or enter the workforce. However, like many community colleges, the experience can vary depending on the department or office you interact with. Some administrative processes, especially around financial aid or student services can feel slow or confusing at times, which can create frustration for students who rely on those resources. There are unwarranted delays, denials, and systemic procedurals around the resources that are in place to help students. Overall, Merritt College provides opportunity, affordability, and dedicated instructors, but there is room for improvement in communication and administrative support. Students who stay focused and take advantage of available resources can definitely succeed here, that's if you can get them.
