Enter the dreamland of playground wonderland!…read more As I was searching on Yelp for Aikahi Elementary School for their Swap Meet event the first thing that popped up was their Playground...!?! So random...No...have you seen this land of happy dreams even as an adult. First thing you see is the giant Dragon with each scale encase a tile with art by children and those tiles are at entrance area as well. I wanted to take more pictures but it was filled with children "of course lol!" and didn't want to take their faces but the rock wall, Turtle hideaway, even a tree house looking play area I was just so impressed. I assume it's exclusively for the school students but open to all on this day did draw an impressive crowd understandably, and what a great environment to have the kids go outside and just have fun. So highly recommended the drive for any events they may have as this is an impressive park that will please all ages! Thank you!

Park was quite, not too many…read morefolks used the park today besides the some firemen checking out some things was the only other excitement besides us. There is a sign posted at the entrance, that was not there before of, no animals allowed among other things prohibited, but there were alot of pet owners, including myself, who came with their dogs to play for a while. Its a clean park and great greenery all around to enjoy and take pictures.

Parking: 5/5 - Personally did not have an issue parking here there were plenty of spots available at around 10:30/11. But there is another lot a further down the road. I prefer the one that i was at however I felt like the other lot going up to Lainkai was more for fisherman and kids. Location: 5/5 I had Lainkai Beach saved on my list so going to this one was a bit unexpected but they deliver the same views and even better that there's a restroom! Restroom was super clean too With that being said it was pretty windy which wasn't a problem but know that its blowin. The sand as well is that fine white sand which is super pretty but it sticks to you so if you're not a sand person...well...you're going to have to accept your textured fate. I wish I could've stayed here longer honestly. I love the fact that there's a foodland nearby to get some lunch and lounge here. We arrived around 11A, and both the parking lot and the beach were already slammed. We got lucky and snagged a parking stall just as someone was pulling out. Finding a spot on the sand took a little longer, but eventually we found a place to nestle. The water was beautiful. The waves were mostly soft rolling breaks with the occasional stronger set that could catch you off guard if you weren't paying attention. Overall, I think it's a great beach for inexperienced swimmers, but I probably wouldn't recommend it for families with toddlers who just want to wade near the shoreline. Those occasional waves have enough push to knock over the littles. One thing I appreciated was how well-maintained the restrooms were compared to some of the other beach parks around the island. They also have a foot rinse station just outside the bathrooms, which made it easy to rinse off the sand from our feet and slippahs before heading back to the car. Such a simple feature, but one I always appreciate. Would I come back? Absolutely. The soft white sand, beautiful warm water, and relaxed vibe make it easy to spend an entire afternoon here. Just come early if you want a fighting chance at parking.

The entire trail out and back in is about 3 Miles approximately. It's fairly easy running as well:) no hills and there weren't a whole bunch of people ample parking in the lot as well. Finally I recommend you wear eye wear the nats or what ever kind of bugs were out there were in my face and a couple ended up in my eye I will be wearing my oakleys next time I go there.

Across the marsh, accessible by Kapaa Quarry road, is a community-maintained trail that leads to a lookout. Be respectful and stay on the trail, and you'll be rewarded with a beautiful view of the marsh, the mountains, and the town below. There are some informational boards out there too. I'd like to bring a breakfast picnic some time. :)

The 2 regular swings area have these 2 huge pits directly underneath the swings which I thought was so dangerous that's honestly the only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars , but it's a nice spacious park , a nice place to come have a picnic at!

As I was walking this trail, my brain is telling me this is a mini Aiea loop trail with great view of the Windward side of Oahu. Parking is a challenge. The location is inside, one way, Kokokahi Place neighborhood so there's only street parking. We were lucky to find spacious area to park. The view here is great considering we only hike up 20-30 minutes. Total trip length was 2 miles. That was little disappointing because I like to get most out of my hikes. I feel like I got ripped off on this hike with little sweat. As for intensity, you do have to climb up but lots of ropes to help you. Luckily it was a dry day so no mud. This trail is quite narrow so it may not be kid friendly. Also, if you're on the taller side, watch out for branches. This is not State trail so it seems like it's not kept up regularly.

This is a very short hike that loops around, so you shouldn't be running into anyone on the narrow pathway. Start right, like driving! There's nothing steep, treacherous, or difficult. The Friendship Garden is very well maintained. Maps and information are provided at the beginning. At the top, you'll find beautiful views Kaneohe Bay. There's also a pathway that leads to another hike that's clearly more difficult and not apart of the Friendship Garden. Warning signs posted! The only difficult thing might be finding this place because it's quite hidden, deep in a residential area. It's located on Kokokahi Pl, which you can reach from Kaneohe Bay Dr. Just drive all the way up, and it'll be to your left. You can only park along the side of the road. Make sure to leave enough space, and also be mindful of the signs! No parking from 6-11AM on Wednesdays and Saturdays, which is probably trash pick up days. Overall, a really nice, easy hike with well maintained pathways. It might be a journey to get there, but it's worth it. Bring friends and make new friends!

Toasted Buns... Not…read moreone of the glorious spot to grab a parking spot to veg out in the sun is this spot on Kalama Beach Park but with some patience it's absolutely worth the wait. Kailua beaches are just so beautiful and this one doesn't quite show it's glory until you walk the short path...tadaaaaahhhh! Yes there is a path which most are paved until you get to the bathroom/shower area then it's all sand and which I think is a great spot to just walk and take in the view. Wide open beach with views as long as your eyes can see it's all beautiful and something that you just need to experience for yourself, I wasn't dressed properly as this was just a random visit though since I was in the area I just though to give it a try and am so glad I did, very quite and peaceful place to relax and enjoy what we here in Hawai'i are so blessed to have. The double trampoline is a hit. The colorful ball pit where the kids can dive through and slide into are points of interest. A large climbing maze like structure with suspended bridges and padded stairs. Market area for kids to pretend to shop for foods. Ice cream trolley that's kid sized. Tiny spinning carousel that continuously goes around and around. All these activities provide hours of entertainment and fun for the kids. It's a fun neighborhood hangout for the little ones to enjoy.

Location is in Kailua, right off the main drag on Hamakua Street (look for the bright yellow building). The parking lot has about a half dozen stalls on the right hand side (beware you may be towed if you park on the left side). I asked the manager where to park as the signage wasn't very clear, so be warned. Pricing: Rates are per child: $15 for one hour, $20 two, $27 for three, and so on. Adults are $3 each. Grip socks are required for all (customers are allowed to bring their own). They also offer all day rates and monthly passes (M-F only). They also feature a stamp card for loyal customers: buy 10 sessions, get one free! There's a bunch of toys and entertainment for all ages: a carousel, obstacle course, slide, Lego stations, and play supermarket. A few unique stations are the rock climbing wall, concert/band area (with drums, piano, ukulele, and microphones), and a big screen TV that featured cartoons for the kids. Open seven days a week.
