My divorce was finalized today in fact, and I can say that I'm very glad to have gone with their firm. A more detailed review: 1. Mr Masella is probably the most knowledgeable lawyer you'll find in terms of divorce law and military matters. In fact, my ex-wife's lawyer was way out of her league in terms of mediation and court. The differing experience levels was heavily in my favor. 2. The cost is competitive, but a bit high. I imagine that's because you get what you pay for. Obviously, I would've loved to pay less however, I'm very happy with how everything was mediated. Being a soldier, keeping my retirement intact was a critical key, and we were able to do that. 3. Mr. Masella is not afraid to go to court. Many lawyers will shy away from court, or convince their own client to settle so that they don't have to go through the extra work. I didn't get that sense at all, and even after a 10 hour mediation where my ex was being very uncooperative, he was ready to just take it to court. Most lawyers would be trying to convince you to settle at that point even if it's not in your favor. 4. The only reason I did not get five stars, is because I felt like some of the charges were nit-picky when it came to my retainer. A phone call for example, even if it's just five minutes, is charged for. Considering the overall amount that was made, I didn't like the little charges like that. 5. Over all, I would absolutely go with Mr. Masella and his firm again. Nothing compared to having the best and most knowledgeable lawyer in town.

Whatever Mr. Whiting was responsible for was done…read morepoorly or not done at all: * no effort was made to pursue discovery of any relevant documents. * the motions were not submitted on time, irreversibly missing critical court-ordered deadlines. * the invoices were full of errors and outright fictional charges. * the mandatory mediator that Mr. Whiting has selected was in the national news for being unfair to the rights of the father during her tenure as a judge on the family court circuit. * when paying the mediator on my behalf, Mr. Whiting attempted to get himself a cut of extra few hundred dollars. Overall, I can't advise more against getting divorced in Lexington County, and having Mr. Whiting as your attorney.
