We hired Keira Gibson to represent us in a probate-related real estate purchase. While she is clearly knowledgeable about real estate law, our experience was frustrating. Communication was reactive rather than proactive, and much of the time we had to chase updates or check the probate court docket ourselves. As first-time buyers, we needed more guidance and reassurance than we received. We also had issues with her paralegal, Stacey, who sent us an extremely rude and dismissive email that turned out to be wrong. This contributed to more preventable delays and costs, and Keira never addressed it with us. Keira's tone was often blunt, dismissive, and at times rude. For example, when my husband (who is an attorney but not a real estate attorney) asked her for her professional estimate based on her experience, she responded: "You're an attorney, you know that the court is unpredictable." That kind of remark was passive-aggressive and unhelpful, and it set the tone for much of our relationship with her. We also repeatedly asked her to communicate with us more proactively, but nothing ever changed. At closing, she asked us to sign two optional items we had opted out of earlier in the process. She said she needed to "check" to make sure we weren't being charged for them in the closing costs. I had already confirmed we weren't, and this is something her office should have caught when reviewing the final numbers. Instead, it created more unnecessary confusion at the table. We used this law firm when we closed on our house. They were recommended by our realtor. We worked with AnnMarie Colasanti. Our closing was complicated and she was rude at closing. What's worse? We're a gay couple and received an envelope addressed to MR and MRS Cassone. How much attention to detail and lack of care and concern can you have as a lawyer to address important documents to clients using the wrong titles. Not only was the envelope addressed incorrectly but the letter inside was also addressed this way and signed by AnnMarie herself. I worked with Attorney Matt Passalaqua after a previous attorney was on early retirement leaving my case very complicated and did not follow through on laws not being followed. Matt dove into my case without any hesitation to get was legally owed to my children on child support. Matt has always been very personal, knew all facts on my high conflict case (he knew my kids names lol) that began in 2014 to present 2023. My case had 28 hearings and 5 appeals that were won. What went from $533 a month for child support with my previous attorney to Matt getting me full Guidelines at $1820 and arrears retroactive to 2018.Matt proved that the guidelines that the judge put on my case were false and proved that the judges should not have deviated from the law giving them too much judicial discretion. we had two judges removed from my case and the bench. We found Dick through the Arlington town list as a recommended lawyer for our recent condo purchase, and he is seriously the most detailed, helpful lawyer ever! He sat down and walked us through every single little clause in the Purchase and Sales agreement until we felt comfortable, and was always quick to answer any questions we had over email or the phone. There were some issues involved due to the building being in the midst of converting from an apartment building to a condo. We had heard that Mitchell was incredibly bright and thorough.
