When my niece requires dessert after 9 pm, I am just the aunt to make sure she has some. After walking around the lane ways, we found Kakigori- a unique business model, selling hand-shaved ice, matcha lattes and desserts comprised of (what look like) little pancakes with chocolate or fruit centers. We were greeted by the proprietor, a friendly and enthusiastic individual. My niece ordered the shaved ice with cherry syrup. We were amazed that the owner literally takes a big piece of ice with gloves, places it on a machine, and produces soft layers of thin ice. The ice looks like fluffy clouds and has the taste texture of cotton candy, very light and satisfying. My niece gives her enthusiastic two thumbs up. I agree. Well worth it. If you are seeking a lighter dessert, this is the way to go. The small for 3€ is quite large. The presentation is great and included a pink strawberry decoration. read more
