BARCELONA SPAIN: My wife and I came to Barcelona for our 25th Anniversary 12/01. I made reservations well in advance @ Brugarol on the recommendation of Juan from Mena Travel in Chicago. Brugarol is located in the Gothic Section of Barcelona down a narrow alley & can be easily missed so plan your time accordingly. The path was difficult finding Brugarol but definitely worth the effort. The restaurant is small & has 2 servings/night, one from 7 - 8:30pm & the other from 8:30 - 10pm. Reservations are recommended The service & food are outstanding. There are 9 degustations Victoria was our server she was awesome giving us a verbal description of each plate she place before us. Every plate was a taste treat sensation like no other. I would highly recommend Brugarol if you're in Barcelona.

This restaurant is a must. It was recommended from a Pinterest post and I was not disappointed. Super small and intimate, only 2 sittings per night. The tasting menu is 70 euro / person and well worth it. You can see the chefs prepare the meals from every table and the servers elevate the experience with their knowledge and care about the restaurant. Do not sleep on this restaurant, reserve a table immediately. Our servers were Nicole and Alba and they both served everyone interchangeably. They were so sweet and seemed to really care about the service and food. Dean and Marcos were the chefs the evening we dined and they provided a magical meal. With a minimal set up, they create a fresh and memorable experience. We regret not trying the beef tartare but we did the tasting menu and everything was delicious. We left extremely content but not overly full, or hungry.

Why doesn't this place have a Michelin Star?!?!? We had an epic 9 course tasting menu dinner that was amazing. Beautiful presentations, sumptuous bites, and wonderful wine pairing. It's a very intimate restaurant hidden in the Gothic quarter. Our server Nicole was a delight and did a great job of leading us on our culinary adventure!

Can't go wrong with 9 course tapas for only $40euros. Food and fish was soooo fresh and buttery. My favorites were the taco and Niguiri. The truffle flan was ok, maybe it's an acquired taste. Overall great experience, I loved 2/9 items, liked 5/9, and unsure about the other 2. Definitely worst the visit!

Listen up people! I'm not an expert in the culinary realm, and I will say I have a bias for Barcelona and everything it has to offer- this is my second time in this fabulous city and my first time at this sensational restaurant. I almost shed a tear after each entree. This is a must try if you're in Barca, and want to have your taste buds sing like they were on Broadway. The beautiful masterpieces the chef creates are pieces of art that should be framed at the Louvre. We had the full tasting menu which rocked my world, and is something I still dream about. Huge thanks to the fantastic staff who creates a beautiful experience, and to the chef who is humble and exquisitely talented in his craft.

    The best patatas bravas ever!!!!

I can sum up this review I'm one word: wow! We really enjoyed this inventive and modern tapas restaurant in the midst of Barcelona's gothic district. It included the best patatas bravas I've ever had. Perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside covered in a Korean spicy sauce and Japanese Mayo. Every plate is a twist or fusion on a classic tapa. The tasting menu was a spectacular value to boot. Small place though so do make a reservation. I'll be back the next time I'm in Barcelona!

Absolutely fantastic high-end restaurant for Asian-influenced Spanish tapas. Came on a Friday for lunch and had the whole restaurant to our self. We sat at the kitchen bar and the chef carefully explained all the ingredients and how they were prepared. Every dish on the tasting menu was phenomenal but standouts were the seafood dishes, specifically the tuna potato roll and the scallops. At 35€ this place is a steal, this meal is easily worth 60+.

Very flavorful and fast experience. Oxtail and mashed potatoes 10/10: the oxtail meet is so tender and flavorful. The mashed potatoes pair so well with the oxtail. Mushroom, steak, and egg yolk 9/10: soo flavorful and balance of veggies and protein. Amazing textures and flavors. Sparkling sangria: 8/10 I don't normally live the taste of alcohol but this was great. Not tooooo strong and if tastes pretty good if you mix it with the orange juice. Fresh orange juice: 10/10 so tangy and delicious. I can't recommend it enough. Patatas bravas: 9/10 solid no complaints! Dessert Tapas: - bread dessert (Tarija): 11/10 amazing dessert that is creamy, cameralized, and has a mochi like texture. This fried chewy dessert is not too sweet and such an affordable price. - coconut pudding 9/10 solid and refreshing if you like flan - bread, chocolate oil, salt 7/10: I live the complex flavors. The chocolate mousse was light and the bread to mousse ratio was perfect. It's a smaller dessert tho I wouldn't recommend it if ur sharing. Service: amazing! Staff I'm everywhere so it was very easy to order more food. Also we were sitting buy the area where they made dessert and they allowed me to record them making it!! The feta cheese was absolutely disgusting, it tasted like imitation rubber cheese. - The "Al Ajillo" Style Shrimps (GAMBES AMB ALLADA) had a very strange flavor within it, which overwhelmed the garlic flavors. - The Beef Tenderloin (FILET VEDELLA), she had to spit 1/4 of it out because it was too tough. - Everything was overpriced there for the value. If you are in the area DO NOT waste your time nor money dining here!!!

The foie gras was absolutely unforgettable--rich, delicate, and simply to die for. The sangria was equally exceptional, fresh, balanced, and dangerously delicious. But what makes this place truly special is something that can't be captured on a menu. The atmosphere, the warmth, the way time seems to slow down... words simply can't do it justice. If you're visiting Barcelona, don't just come here for dinner. Come here to fall in love with the food, the city, the moment, or maybe even someone sitting across the table. An experience I'll never forget.

Well, the restaurant was cute and cozy with a great ambiance. With luck on our side, we found two seats at the bar and quickly ordered drinks. We ordered a pitcher of the sangria (because why not?). The sangria was delicious, refreshing, and made to order. It was definitely more authentic than what we're getting in America. We ordered the patatas bravas, tempura asparagus, the octopus, and the steak. It all came out as it became available. We couldn't decide what our favorite was, to be honest. We ordered an ice cream sandwich for dessert and quickly requested our bill. We didn't want to hold the staff up as we noticed they were cleaning the establishment and people were finishing up. Overall, what a great experience for our first meal in Barcelona! Cute and hidden gem.
