Cory and the rest of the folks at Benchmark saved our Alaska road trip from a brake meltdown!…read more Traveling up from the Idaho border, we started to notice some noise coming from the brakes. At our next stop, had a local shop check the brakes and found they needed new front pads. However, the shop there would not have been able to fit us in for four days, which would have completely scrambled our plans. So, started calling shops ahead on our route to see if anyone could help us out. The minute Cory picked up the phone, I knew we were in competent hands. I explained the problem and told him we'd be in Prince George in a couple of days. He said "no problem", asked a couple of the right questions, and told me he could order pads to be ready when we got there. A couple days later, I rolled into Benchmark at 8 AM when they opened. Met Cory and the rest of the crew, and they told me they'd get right on it. They had me out and on the road by 10 AM, and much relieved at their helpfulness and conscientiousness. If I lived in Prince George, they'd be my regular shop!

Got back to the van after shopping and my sister in the car was sitting there with the ac on but…read morethe van wasn't fully on. The battery was dead. walked to princess auto for jumpers and they were out. Called Benchmark and they saved our day. In minutes they picked us up from Princess Auto, took us to where we were parked and gave a jump in seconds. So happy they could do that for us. Super friendly staff and quick responses. I was driving the ALCAN heading south. My brakes acted up near Yellowknife, but due to holiday…read moreweekend... most places closed Sunday and Monday (Victoria Day). I pressed onward toward Prince George, hoping to get a walk in appt first thing Tuesday. Called or stopped into 5+ shops and nobody could look at it for days or weeks! Discouraged I began to head south out of town, but make one last pit stop. That's when back off the frontage road was Centennial - I stopped in and talked to Tom and explained my situation. 3 hours later I was back on the road with a repaired brake!! Can't recommend these guys enough. Not a fancy shop, but solid honest work. Thanks guys!
