I became a fan of Kal Tire when they fixed a punctured tire for me at no cost. I didn't buy the tire from Kal Tire, they just did it. I loved it. I thought if it wasn't fixable they'd try to upsell me for a tire. They didn't. They just fixed it and off I went. I was going to buy my next set of tires from Costco, but Costco f'd up my order. So in I went to Kal Tire. They'll price match! So if you love Costco prices but want to avoid the brutal Tire Center service (as you might have heard from other people it's brutal) go to Kal Tire. Nothing bad to say! I parked the company vehicle after a 3 day trip out of town, and found that my personal vehicle had a flat tire. I knew it had a slow leak before I left and I really should have taken it in, but I forgot about it. I noticed that there was a Kal Tire truck in our yard (I work for a trucking company down the road from this location) changing out some tires, so I limped my car over to where he was and asked him if he would mind filling it up so I could at least get home that night and get it back to Kal in the morning. Not only did he fill my tire, but he showed genuine concern - asked me how far I had to go, and if I knew how fast it was leaking. He wanted to make sure I was going to be able to make it home and back without causing a bigger problem. Once he filled it up, he checked to see if he could see/hear a major leak. luckily he didn't. That was my first encounter with staff from this location. The next morning, I took my car straight to Kal Tire. I'm so used to the super busy location on 99th street, where you have to get there half an hour before they open and line up, so I got there about 15 minutes before they were open, and got ready to wait. Much to my surprise, there was only one other person waiting. Once the doors were open, they took care of us really quickly. Asked good questions, and made sure they had the best number to contact me at. It took no time at all, and within a couple hours, they called to say that my car was ready, and explained the work they did. When I arrived to pick it up, I was told that there was no charge for it! I'm told that that is likely because my tires were purchased from Kal Tire, so they provide quite a bit of complimentary service and maintenance. This will be my go-to place from now on. read more

My Daughter has had her vehicle serviced at Kal Tire in Sherwood Park a couple of times. On both occasions Will has been outstanding to deal with. His demeanour is so friendly and professional and their service quotes are always fair when compared with other service centres, including Costco. I brought my 2012 Fusion in to get the winter tires put on, an oil change and have an issue with the windshield wiper fluid not spraying out. First the timing and communication for the entire visit was good. There however two issues. They did not bag my summer tires, just put them in the car. And second they repaired the issue with the windshield washer fluid, however when I got home and tested it nothing came out. I popped the hood to have a look and discovered they forgot to connect the hose to the fluid was just spraying allover the engine. It was easy enough for me to correct, but that is not the and something many people would be willing to do. This location charged me $39 for puncture repair. The guy ask me if I purchased the tire from Kaltire, I said no but rims and tire sensors are. A year ago from another Kaltire location, they charge me nothing. Honestly, with the free puncture repair service Kaltire did to me, it made me decided to purchase rims and tire sensors with Kaltire even some quotes from other tire shops are bit cheaper. read more

Excellent service here, the staff is always very nice and professional. My vehicle is never dirty on the inside when they are done their work. Had a nail in my tire and they repaired it for free! The most honest garage I have ever worked with and I have examples (+ examples of great customer service). 1) I was told by Sherwood Honda I needed new breaks (front/back). I took my car to Kal-Tire to get it done and they DECLINED doing because the breaks had too much life left. Was 1.5 years before I needed the front and another year before the back (naturally Kal-Tire got my business) 2) Had a squeal when I was driving over 20-30 km/h and had it at Sherwood Honda for oil change and to take a look at the squeal. Was told it was ~$700 to get the squeal fixed. After the 'repair' it still squealed and Sherwood Honda tried to tell me the tires wore uneven so it would take new tires to fix the problem for another $800-1000. I said 'no', took it to Kal-Tire, had a JOURNEYMAN mechanic look at it and ~$270 later it's fixed (just a new bearing) 3) I have purchased new winter and summer tires and their service is tremendous. Furthermore, they do free repairs on the tire for life. Definitely worth considering when price comparing. 1 or 2 free repairs the tires cost of the tires are way cheaper! Thank you Kal-Tire! I brought my car in this morning at 8:30am as I had a bolt/nail lodged in my tire and I cuold hear it clicking the whole way to work. The gentleman at the front desk was very nice and told me I could leave my vehicle there and they would give me a call when the tire was fixed. I just called to see if my vehicle was ready and the gentleman told me it was just finished. I asked him how much it was going to cost, and he told me it was free! That is excellent customer service!! I will definitely be going to Kal Tire in the future and recommending them as well. read more

Bunch of crooks, I went to get an out of province inspection, they tried to tell me I needed new tires and an alignment but a second opinion said otherwise. It took 8 hrs for a 2 hr inspection,really poor customer service and bad attitude from all the staff. These guys give other tire companies a bad name. Avoid at all cost read more

I usually go to Fountain Tire for my car servicing and needed my power steering fluid flushed and replaced. Fountain Tire's price was way higher than Kal Tire's so I chose to go to Kal Tire instead. Fountain Tire had told me the seals were bad and might leak but when Kal Tire serviced my car they said it was all fine. Three weeks after Kal Tire replaced my power steering fluid, I lost all power steering. Clearly the seals were bad and they didn't catch it. I wasted my money there and don't recommend using them at all. read more

Terrible company to go to. I spent about 900$ for all season and they were the worst set of tires I have spent my money on. 0.5 inch of snow cause my tires to slip and slide. Like seriously? Its not freezing ice or nothing just plain soft snow. Highly recommend spending your money at Integra or Costco if u want better tires. read more

Few days before I kindly phoned and asked if they could check my tires and to tell me why they are noisy. Somebody answered my call saying that if I'd bring the car first thing in the morning and leave it all day they'd check it out for me. Today, I left early and brought the car right at 7:30am when they were just opening. I went to the service desk where they took my info and told them to give me a call once they had finished checking the tires, possibly before 3:30 pm (that's when I'd get a ride to the shop). Around 3:00pm I called because I hadn't heard from them and a person answered saying they hadn't checked it yet and to come by close to 6:00pm which is closing time. In the meantime my ride had left so I had to find somebody else to take me to the shop, when I got there the car was exactly at the same spot where I left it in the morning. I went inside and they told me that they didn't even touched it. The guy was standing there looking me, no sorry Sir, no apology, or ask if I wanted to bring it back or make an appointment, nothing at all. I know they probably don't need my business because they are busy and piling up invoices like crazy but I found this very UNPROFESSIONAL. If they couldn't do it they should have told me straight up and I would have gone to another location or another tire shop. THEY WILL NEVER SEE ME AGAIN. read more

This place is terrible! I recommend that no one ever go here. I was recommended it by a co-worker so I called and was quoted a price over the phone for changing out my tires from winters to summer which I thought was more than reasonable but when the work was done and it came time to pay I was told that the cost was $50 more than was quoted on the phone. The manager came over and honoured the original quoted price but only after treating me like a child and speaking very slowly informing me what the normal price was. (As if he expected that I would ever be back) When I got out to my car the parking break was set so tight that I couldn't take it off so I had to go back into the establishment to get a mechanic to come out and take off my emergency break. But the real kicker, the one that makes me think that no one should ever go to this location is when I took my car to get the tires re-torqued by another shop it was discovered that my tires were torqued over 130 foot pounds when the specifications of my car call for 76 foot pounds. This means that my tires were torqued to almost double of what their spec is. I cannot tell you how upset I am at this, it is one thing to be incompetent but when you incompetence endangers the lives of others it's a completely different thing, if my lugs had broken from being over torqued I could have suffered immensely if not been killed as I regularly driver over 100K on the way to work ever day. I seriously hope that the manager of this establishment and the company that he represents look at their business practices and fix them before they end up killing someone. read more

I asked the service advisor when my truck would be ready after waiting 3.5 hours in their lobby. His answer was a dismissive "Listen, we are fitting you in, so it'll be done when it's done." I responded in shock, "You mean that is your answer?" He replied, "yup, that's my answer." He then looked behind me and welcomed two young girls into the shop and motioned to me move aside and let them through. Earlier, while I was waiting patiently for my truck to get brand new tires installed, the same service advisor decided to gossip about their coworker by referring to him as a "F'ing retard" and "a total F'ing idiot", this went on in front of myself, 3 other tire shoppers and the rest of the staff for about 2-3 minutes. I did see a couple other staff members assist customers well, but the main service advisors were absolute crap with terrible attitudes. I would stay away from kal tire. I will never go back there, ever. I would rather spend money somewhere that appreciates the business instead of a place that has the attitude that they are entitled to it. read more
