Leg of lamb and potatoes. Also very delicious.

LOVED this place. A small quiet place out of the way. I actually saw it by accident. My husband and I got lost looking for our hotel and I saw the sign. When we tried to eat at a Greek place down the street from our hotel they told us we needed to have made reservations. So we went back to this place and it was delicious. Definitely will stop by to eat there again next time I'm in London.

This restaurant was a cool find on a weeknight when we were craving Greek food after a long day of sight seeing. The entrance is a bit hidden- it's not off a main street but instead you'll have to walk around back and entrance is located on a quiet alley-like street. The restaurant was quiet which was perfect for my tired self, and the staff was friendly. I ordered a chicken and rice dish, do not recall the exact name. My husband ordered a fixed menu, he chose the meat variety. This was such a good call! We sampled so many delicious things that we may not have ordered otherwise. All the dips with pita bread were so tasty, I couldn't stop eating them. The sausage and meatballs appetizers were phenomenal as well. The main entree- a variety of meats with potatoes and a side salad- also great. We finished with a dessert of baklava with yogurt & honey. Definitely a filling and delicious meal after a long day of walking!

Nice place to go for a quiet dinner. It's hidden away in an alley, a bit off the beaten path. Staff was pleasant, portions were sized well, OK prices. The music was a little funky, but overall pleasant experience. Not familiar with the area, but there was a used prophylactic on the ground outside, kind of gross. Other than that, A-OK!!!

Chicken lemonoreganato & tzatziki w/ pita. I cleaned my plate I'm stuffed!

WOW! This place has the best tzatziki I've ever had! Authentic authentic authentic! Hidden gem just around the corner from my hotel in Hyde Park and a stones throw from Bayswater tube station. I highly recommend the chicken lemonoreganato entree. Very reasonably priced and I cleaned my plate.

I spent two weeks in Greece and this was by far much better than some of the meals I had in Greece. 10/10

Have been eating at this small neighborhood gem for the last 20 years - definitely worth it for great, authentic greek food!

The food is always good, the lamb is amazingly tender. Been there a few times, and the staff are always very friendly.

I loved the feel of the place. Small but generous in personal space. Extra effort was made to make sure our party of 6 were comfortable. And the food was delicious. The welcome pre dinner treats such as olives, radishes, and peppers were delightful. Then came the hummus--best I have ever had. The king prawns were simply cooked and wonderful. Everything was so fresh! The calamari, the Greek salad. All excellent. The entrees our party enjoyed included lamb, chicken, spanakopita, falafel, and so much more. If I lived in the area, I would frequent the place. I even commented to my wife that I could see myself landing at LHR and making my way straight to Aphrodite!

But our host was the most pleasant man and fished out items from the kitchen that weren't only vegan but also delicious! To begin with, even without ordering anything, pitas, flava bean salad, and olives, which, by themselves, more than hold their own. The falafels are one of the best I've tasted in London. And the hummus was unbelievable. For mains, the dolmades were excellent. Even the roasted potatoes that our host offered, and which weren't on the menu, were amazing. Overall, the chefs and hosts at the Aprodite Taverna take real joy in feeding people. And I'd definitely go here again: for the food as well as the service.

Came here on a recommendation of a friend who lives in London and we were not at all disappointed…read more We started with some great cocktails and I really enjoyed the Aegean Negroni I opted for; the addition of black pepper simple syrup really added to the complexity of the drink. Every single dish we had was superb, from the jars of tzatziki and tiropita to the crispy calamari and seabass tartare to start. The fresh bread, which was lightly charred, really paired well with the tzatziki and tiropita which were lightly whipped and so flavorful. The seabass came with a cucumber and jalapeno broth which had just the right amount of spice to elevate the fish. For main we split the lamb and grilled octopus which were both perfectly prepared. The lamb, which appeared to be sous vide, was cooked to an exquisite medium rare and the octopus had a great char both was still tender. The service and setting were both great and we highly recommend this establishment.

I was introduced to mastiha liquor given gratis upon sitting down, the loukamades in a box with the once chocolate one was a great touch. I live outside of the UK but when each of my children reached a certain age, I would take them on a trip to London and Mazi was always on the itinerary. Unfortunately the experience has dwindled each time. I took my youngest to Mazi this summer and they could not have cared less. Additionally the crowds and vibrancy I remember are much less. But the service was the most disappointing. I tried to explain how we had been looking forward to this and our family tradition (I even bought the cookbook), but to no avail. Maybe I was too excited and it was just a normal night for them. The great ideas of the menu seem to be just on autopilot now. Perhaps the novelty of it all has worn off on me too, but the loukamades presentation is different now. Boxes are gone. And perhaps I should not have ordered the radishes, but it came out without any dipping sauce or anything. Just raw radishes. Maybe it's still a great place, and maybe it was just an off night, but I will no longer be taking that risk. .
