Honestly, I should have canceled after her assistant first called to reschedule our appointment so Dr. Wooten could attend a political event for her senate campaign. That alone should have been a red flag--but unfortunately, it wasn't the last time her priorities felt misplaced. During our visit, she seemed more interested in discussing her political ambitions than focusing on my child. After the first appointment, my husband and I only continued because we were led to believe she could help with behavioral therapy for our son's aggression. That turned out to be completely misleading. At our second visit, she actually cut the appointment short so she could use the restroom before another political meeting. Again, our time--and more importantly, our child's care--felt secondary. Then came the testing. Her assistant repeatedly assured me that she had verified with our insurance and that we would only be responsible for a co-pay. I even questioned whether to proceed, since the testing could cost up to $1,300 out of pocket and we were not seeking any diagnosis--just help with behavior. We were reassured enough to move forward, believing we'd receive actual support afterward. Instead, at the follow-up, Dr. Wooten diagnosed my FOUR-year-old with ADHD and immediately began pushing medication. When I declined, she responded by saying my child would be disliked by teachers and peers and labeled if we didn't medicate him. That was not only inappropriate, but frankly alarming. There were no alternative strategies offered--no behavioral therapy, no guidance--just repeated pressure to medicate. When I asked about the therapy we were initially told she could provide, she dismissed us, saying she couldn't help because he "only" has ADHD. Her only other "solution"? Purchase pre-recorded videos she made in 2020 for hundreds of dollars. To make matters worse, after all of this, I was informed by her assistant that we would not just owe a co-pay as promised, but instead over $800. This directly contradicted everything I had been told beforehand. At that point, it felt less like a mistake and more like deliberate misinformation. I left this experience feeling frustrated, misled, and honestly sick over the financial strain it has put on my family--all while trying to do the right thing for my child. I would strongly caution other parents to look elsewhere for care.

This week's session was just what he needed and we plan to check back in in a couple months as Jason's schedule allows. Here's a bit of some history when my son saw Jason weekly from February - October 2019. Jason changed our lives. He was exactly what we needed and what my son needed. After Brain Balance and family therapy proved unsuccessful, a psychologist recommended a play therapist for our then 7-year-old son. After an extensive search for the perfect fit (someone who was knowledgeable working with boys likely with ADD, ODD, anxiety, impulsivity, and a bit depressive), we found Jason! We love Jason so much that we traveled 30 miles to his new location for our check in. My son adores him. He is fun, positive, always happy, and genuinely loves what he does. We have seen a huge change in our son (even a year after weekly therapy sessions ended). Jason took the time to educate us as well (using the ACT model), and my husband and I feel better equipped to work through any episodes. This year has been the best year we've had as a family in a really, really long time and we have Jason to thank for that!

Everyone I have encountered has been very helpful and personable, which increased my desire to continue seeking help. Other mental health establishments I have been to in the past haven't been as helpful and welcoming. I have learned a lot and received a lot of help and resources from my case managers and nurse practitioner, in a relatively short amount of time. I would recommend MHMR to anyone seeking help for their mental health.

After my beloved PCP retired/moved out of state, I decided to try Bridlewood Family Healthcare due…read moreto proximity to home and because my prior PCP had stated that my medical records would be transferred there. The front desk staff was nice and the MAs friendly. They apologized and thanked me when I mentioned that I found a 6 day old urine sample in the restroom. Dr. Glaser was not friendly towards me. My visit was to be a new patient physical. He did not engage or try to get to know me at all. My face to face time with him was less than 10 minutes, and the only thing memorable that he said was that my insurance might not pay for my updated tetanus shot (they did). I went downstairs to do lab work and was there for about 30 minutes when they finally realized that Dr. Glaser did not order lab work because I had done lab work 7 months prior. Fairly certain that lab work is part of a physical...but whatever. I had already made up my mind that this man would not be my new PCP. A PCP should be warm and engaging, and someone who will listen to their patients when they are concerned about something - Dr. Glaser checked none of these boxes. Fast forward a few weeks later to the billing nightmare that followed, my insurance covers an annual physical (including the lab work he wouldn't order) 100%...but the first bill was coded as a new patient appointment, but they left the physical off. So I had to call the office about this...they made my patient responsibility $0 in their system, but then rebilled my insurance company with duplicate charges and overbilled by almost triple. I decided to call BCBS directly since I had yet to find a competent individual to help me at the practice. The insurance rep told me that one of the codes used on the new bill was for a psychiatric evaluation...OMG! I explained the whole situation again, and BCBS filed a grievance and the billing did eventually get situated. I have talked to others who have noticed similar billing issues on their statements from this practice...so definitely watch your EOBs here. Unreported overbilling is sadly something that happens too often in the medical world. I have given up on ever seeing my 7+ years of medical records from my prior PCP. I am fairly certain they went into an abyss of some sort in this Bridlewood office of confusion.

I've never had a bad experience…read more Getting in touch with someone on the phone can be frustrating for those that are not technically inclined. But if you use the Healow app, the docs are pretty quick to respond plus your care needs are documented. I started using Bridlewood, Dr. Glaser and his staff because the last office I was at didn't listen to me. I'm diabetic and trying to find the right medication has been much trial and error but my last office brushed off my errors. So when I first started with Bridlewood, Michelle Hampton heard me and started me on my way to finding what worked. I was sad to lose Victoria Thomas but it was an easy transition back to Michelle and they really do care. I have trouble with getting medication but that's due to my insurance not the office. Michelle and her team have been in constant communication with me and are eager to help where they can. I've had nothing but a pleasant and stress free experience working with the Bridlewood staff. My one complaint would be that I never got an Amazon gift card!
