I was a customer, Mr. Seth Scott for almost 3 years and I can say Mr. Scott did absolutely nothing to help my case here if not, made it worse and harder on me l had to put in all offers myself. Do not use this firm. They will not fight for you. They have horrible communication and when I brought a friend that is experienced in workers comp cases and he called them out for not doing what they should have done at this point. Rather than admit they dropped the ball they said they were just too busy. When you are injured and at your low point you want a firm that will fight for you. Kalfus & Nachman, hired in January 2013, had taken no action eight months later. Calls and emails were not returned when I inquired as to why. I asked their fine investigator to intercede and I finally received a terse email from my "lawyer" stating that I had failed to provide requested documents. I can prove, even today, that I had sent them all. Three weeks later I received settlement documents which did not disclose the source of the settlement funds. We signed. So, my husband has a case with this firm and asked them to settle the case back in April, he was told if at anytime he decided to settle the case in lieu of going to court it would take around 2 weeks to settle. Well, it has been since April and still seems like they keep giving him the runaround. Mind you this has been going on for more than 2 years. My experience wasn't positive. I feel the lack of communication was the biggest fault. I never spoke to my attorney, nor did I know who was even representing me. I'd get form letters in the mail stating things like..."as we discussed on the phone..." There were no phone calls with an attorney until the very end during the negotiations. My car accident wasn't a big moneymaker but I would have expected better communication. I was told they didn't have my current number, but they did have my email and could've reached out at any point. I had an absolute terrible experience both lawyers that I spoke with were very disrespectful never wanted to really answer my questions straight forward instead made it seem like I was stupid for not knowing the answer I had to call numerous of times to still NEVER get a response .. Had an accident at start of October 2016, not major damage but damage none the less and physical injury, the other driver was cited on scene by police for following to close and hitting my stopped vehicle. I JUST settled this case for less than 2K in pocket again 29 months later....after emergency room visit and multiple weeks of physical therapy. The end result was totally not worth it at all. I likely could have made the deal direct with the insurance company to get that pocket change. A little more backstory when I called K&N the investigator IE case intake guy was telling me his back hurts not sure when he would come to see me..I told him I would take case elsewhere. He suddenly changed tune and was able to make it..First red flag that should have been followed to about face and double time march elsewhere! Communication throughout this multi year saga was poor from initial attorney. At some point I assume it wasn't deemed a high dollar enough case and switched to another lawyer who's was actually much better with communication. What I truly did not like was the judge awarded 4K for the case with interest again for 29 months and a deal was struck between the insurance company lawyer and K&N lawyer to forego interest to not move to next level court...so disrespectful to the injured IE me bad enough I was only getting a little change anyway. This seemed to be a buddy buddy deal maybe, maybe not! Be careful if you have a case with any person who has auto insurance with a company that starts with E and is a town...they suck! For note case as I was told by second attorney had a restricted dollar ceiling due to low cost of medical bills..imagine that....let's just say I went to a very large facility well known in the Hampton roads area for the majority of the population of the area....located in Portsmouth Va read between the lines on that! Ensure you go to private hospitals IE Sentara and such to get high bills that is what drives the final dollar award of case! Trying to be honest and do the right thing got me screwed on this point alone! Don't be the next one. Did not use specific names because I am not trying to get sued LOL. Outside of the lawyer who had a pleasant personality this experience SUCKED! I feel like all I did was invited K&N in on making a little money yes little..and paying my medical bill back which was paid anyway....BLUF try somewhere else is MY recommendation more aggressive and will truly get you more for your case with better intake of case and communication throughout!!
