if you were to ask 5 years ago it would be 5 stars, but it had gotten to a point with these 5 kids who have inherited that camp site. These 5 children who have started to own the kamp sit have started to get more and more greedy with there prices and services. they have gotten to the point to where you are a seasonal they still find loopholes and ways to get more and more money out of you. your not even allowed to bring you OWN fire wood, and then the proceed to charge you 20 bucks for a bundle of 5 tiny logs of wood. Kamp Dels used to be a amazing places for Families to get away until they decided money was the only thing that matters. Kicking people OUT OF THERE SEASONAL SITE THAT HAVE BEEN THERE FOR YEARS, just to build a MANSION by the pool, not to mention that at first they refused to move there sites at THERE OWN EXPENSES. Then on top of that they choose to treat there seasonal and weekend people, no matter how long you've been with them with PURE disrespect and they will literally say to you " be careful, because i'm the owner". the power trip on these 5 new children how inherited the ONCE amazing kamp dels has completely twisted this place into a place where it is unaffordable for most families and when you are here it is completely not worth your buck with everything they choose to put in lines. i hope this review helps families before booking if your looking for a get away with your family at peace. read more

Awful experience checking into our seasonal site which we have owned for multiple years. We were told it is a MAXIMUM of 5 people at the camp ground at a time. This means that a family who has 4 children must decide whether the mom or the dad would like to go with their kids to Kamp Dels, but not both. Seems very unacceptable for a place that claims to be "family friendly". Even for a family who has 2 children, they would not be able to bring 2 friends and still have both parents there. Seems absolutely ridiculous, especially for a campground like this. Extremely disappointed and will be looking into other options for next summer. It's ironic how they plaster being family friendly on all descriptions and overviews of their campground, yet are against bigger families. If you have a group or family/friends of more than 5, STAY AWAY before wasting money and time. read more

We love this place! That's how I'm starting this review! We have been coming here the past 4 years and our three kids (16,14,7) still have a blast. We do this trip with another family and their kids and the 5 day stay is never boring for them or is adults. They have plenty for kids if all ages to do from a petting zoo, to horse rides to games and of course a multi pool facility. You an also spend a little money and rent a boat or play some.mini golf or just enjoy the free volleyball, basketball and scavenger hunt! The staff is always friendly and helpful and the check in and out process is easy. Just a quick to know..if you stay over a Thursday make sure you go in to get the new color wrist band on that day. The owners are not honest. Substantial extra fees will be added at the time of check-in, after the initial fee is paid. If you cancel before the 7 days to get the 150$ deposit back they will not abide by their word. Be cautious when booking. They do not add disclaimers for the extra fees. We were quotes and extra 1,500 for our tent only site. After we already paid the 600$ booking fee. read more

We had a lot of fun here. The water parks are a great time. The arcade was nice to have but needs some more games. The petting zoo is neat, takes about 5 min. Great to have a driving range, needed some practice. We camped near the water parks. Everything is very far away. The trolleys Are always full. The only way to catch it is to wait near the pool. I don't like the size of this place. I found it to be too squeezed in. Campers everywhere. Really make sure you k ow where your staying! Lots of traffic and really small streets make walks a pain. Pretty strict on the quit times and stuff which is fine. All water sports book up quick. I feel like there should be more bathrooms then what are provided. We are in a popup with no bathroom and it's quite a walk to bathrooms when we are staying in a spot with no full hook ups. read more

We went seasonal, lasted about two months. Too expensive, pools are way too crowded and there's so much traffic! Not safe for young kids to run around, not relaxing to go for walks when you're constantly moving out of the way for a car, just not for us. They have such high demand for seasonals that they really don't care if you're happy there. Oh, and the water smells terrible. We've camped for years and never had the putrid smell in our water like what we had there. So gross. Pros: during the week, the pool isn't nearly as crowded and quite relaxing. Lifeguards seem responsible. Food at the snack shack is over-priced but good. read more

We witnessed a brutal dog attack (a leashed dog was viciously attacked by an unleashed dog). Our young children were close by and we were scared for our safety. We felt so uneasy the rest of our stay because it seemed the ppl that had the unleashed dog were allowed to stay and camp after it happened. That poor dog. This place is also overcrowded. We won't be coming back. Not safe for families. read more

Our dog was attack by another dog at the campground. Our dog was in lease the other was not. We took Charlie to the local vet where he received staples and shots. We spoke to the owners of Kamp Del and they did nothing about it. Our dog could not walk, climb stairs nothing. We ask for a refund for the days we had left so we could leave and they said no refund, even after they knew what had happened. I wish I could attach pictures of our poor Charlie. read more

Save your money and save the frustration of changing rules. Espcially if you are looking at being a seasonal camper. We got approval for a deck, with drawings, building permit by the county, approval by Kamp Dels (4 years ago) and went to sell our camper and was told that the desk was now out of compliance and would need to be changed. Also wrote for confirmation on size of storage unit, was approved. purchased (950.00) a storage unit. A week later I get a call from Kamp Dels telling me it MUST be removed, regardless what was approved in written email. The employee that told me that it must come down, offered me 1/2 of what I paid for the storage unit. After spending 5 hours putting it up, and purchasing specifically after the approval, miffed to say the least. If you like goal posts changing, selectively enforcing rules, and paying way too much for what you get this is the place for you. Oh, and they are offering $10.00 credit if you give them a 5 star review. Against rules for Yelp, and Google, and is actually illegal according to the FTC. Save your money. $135 a night to get 2 2-hour blocks of time in the pool. Looking at the pool right now and there are less than 50 people in the pool, half capacity is almost 300 people yet they turned us, and everyone else away. Idyllic. Breathtaking. Entertaining. Wonderful. Kamp Dells is the best private camping facility I have ever visited. Every detail seems to of been carefully thought out. From the location of the spacious camp sites the layout of the pool. Camp sites are beautifully maintained, better than I have ever seen. There as so many entertainment options here that you will have a hard time doing all of them during your stay. The animal enclosures have been expanded and were a big hit with my kids. Shuffleboard, tennis courts, mini-golf... and the list goes on and on. I wish I lived closer so I could visit more often. read more

Before I get into my review, I have to point out that I'm not big into camping. My idea is camping is a fifth wheel with electricity and running water. We went on a camping trip last fall with our neighbors to Kamp Dels and I stayed in a tent for the first time since I was in boy scouts. While the experience wasn't horrible, I have some definite beefs with the facilities. Kamp Dels is about an hour and a half drive from the Cities. They have a minimal playground, a big waterpark, pool, petting zoo, and lots of other activities. I was there for a weekend and while I, personally, ran out of things to do, there are plenty of things to keep you occupied if you have interests in them. My big problem with Kamp Dels is that they are incredibly crownded. We were there in mid-August and the place was packed. We had four campsites near the waterpark and there was barely 10 ft between us and our neighboring campers. Now granted, our group pitched tents at the edge of our sites so that we would have a large common area in the middle, but I walked around the campground and the sites were really tightly packed together. There were campsites where you could be surrounded completely by other campsites and would have to walk through someone else's site to get to a road. I would hate to end up in one of those sites if I didn't know a neighbor next to a road. The pool was also incredibly crowded. There was always a large line to dive off one of the diving boards and the rest of the pool looked like the arctic waters when a pack of seals are swimming together. There was barely an arms length between you and the next swimmer. The waterpark next door was only slightly better but only because there was more room. Tons of people lined the edge to watch their kids. The worst part is that the waterpark closes about an hour before the pool, so where to everybody go? You guessed it. To Seal Central. I'm a big fisherman, so I was excited to do some fishing off the dock across the street. But the lake was really dirty. I could barely see 6 inches below the surface of the water. I realize that's not Kamp Dels' fault, but it really put a damper on my activities when I planned to fish for a few hours. Overall, the weekend was still fun, sans the rain storms that came through, and the kids had a blast. We had good company and quality bonding time with the neighbors. But this year, we're heading to a different campground. read more

Kamp Dels camping is the BEST! Awesome WATERPARK!!! It's kid friendly; there's a "snack shack"!to get pizzas, ice cream cones, big pretzels, pop... The hours of "old WATERPARK and pool are 9-9. The new WATERPARK with the 2 big slides is 11am-7pm. At 5 min to each hour they blow whistles for a 5 min safety break-only in the newer part. You can bring noodles, floaties and balls into the older part. SO MUCH FUN! Campground is dog friendly and kid friendly. They do enforce quiet hours, which is nice. read more

We love the big pool areas and all the great playgrounds. They do some activities during the day but I wish there were more on the days it's not nice enough to swim. The staff is very friendly and happy. The campground itself is very crowded. I get that it's a seasonal business and they have to make the most of it, but you are literally on top of each other. We have a smaller camper and it took a lot of maneuvering to even get into our spot. We've been twice this year but we won't be going back. read more

So disappointed in this campground for their nickel and dime tactics. They are spendy on the camping fees as the base rate (for a family campground) only includes 2 people. So any families out there with more than 2 people have to pay an additional charge per person/per day. If you would like to play mini golf - pay up. If you want to go on a pony ride - pay up. And my personal favorite- have a disabled vet and his wife visit for a few hours to see their grandkids smile with no interest in swimming or using any of their amenities - pay up AND then be taxed on top of it. I get that they are in the business to make money however it seems that they have forgotten that there are still good, honest people out there that sometimes just paying it forward goes a lot further than making a dime. read more

We went during the week so it wasn't to crowded. We know from experience that campgrounds with water parks are very busy on the weekends they also allow day passes that can make it busier. We stayed in 224b & 224c right across from the pool and bathrooms. The sites were pretty small. We had a pop up and a 35ft motorhome and we just fit. We liked the cement pads and the access to everything. We wish that there was a park closer to us. The pools were clean, so were the bathrooms. The staff was friendly. The food in the snack bar was great especially the ice cream. Some of the issues we had were no access to the bathrooms from inside the pool. There was no designated area for the bikes so they were in front of the pool entrance. The flys were absolutely horrible you couldn't even sit outside to enjoy the weather or eat. The most annoying was behind our campsites was a hill with campsites big enough for pop ups and tents and those campers kept using our site to get to the bathrooms and the pool. We did complain and were told to handle it and we felt it wasn't our place but there's to address. I don't think that we were the first to complain about this and I feel the owners could easily remedy this problem with a path for them, signs to not go through other campsites, or a barrier of some sort. The lack of not addressing any of these issues I feel is irresponsible and the reason we will not return. read more

I was a seasonal camper with Kamp Dels with a 7 and 9 year old. With Covid-19 and not knowing if the pools would be open we called to see if they had a plan of action for campers. They have 1 or 2 activities a day that last 10 minutes so not having a pool is a big deal for us. Our kids would go stir crazy and not have a thing to do. When we asked what our options are the owner Erin was extremly unprofessional and yelled at my husband. We have gone round and round with terrible customer service from them. She was rude and her husband refused to call us back. We now are out $1000.00 to pull our camper after staying only 1 weekend. I have heard many complaints of the staff owner and had I heard those before we signed up we never would have chosen Kamp Dels. Go elsewhere!! Even for a weekend. This place is not worth your time or money to camp at. read more

I highly recommend Kamp Dels Resort in Waterville, MN! My husband was searching for a family friendly resort when he found several on the internet. We chose Kamp Dels because we wanted to miss the weekend traffic that was always heading North from the Twin Cities. We took our dogs and our toddler in our Outback camper and headed south. We arrived in just one hour. We enjoyed our pull-through parking spot with full hookups. We loved the beautiful uncluttered view of the Sakatah Lake State Park (with access to the Singing Hills Bike Trail). We still had water, electricity, wireless internet and cable TV. We had a great first weekend and eventually had some of the best times of our lives at Kamp Dels. We found their Barn/Office Staff were friendly, helpful, knowledgable and extremely organized. They sell fishing licenses and fishing and camping gear along with other necessities such as; pizza and ice cream, groceries, toys and gifts, great clothes, souveniers and home decor. We enjoyed the outdoor camp amenities; swimming pool with diving boards, water park, petting zoo, pony rides, trail rides, driving range, wagon rides, tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, and miniature golf. Of course, our favorite activity was sitting around our campfire with friends. Even on a rainy day we had a modern gym to work out in, raquetball, or just hang out and play pool or arcade games. They have plenty of tornado shelters just in case. There are several indoor dances for the whole family each summer with a talented on-site band. Each weekend has it's own theme for family activities such as; Christmas in July (where Santa's elves bring by gifts and there is a decorating competition), a lovely hillside Easter Egg Hunt, Water Wars, Sports Fanatic, hula-hoop competitions etc. Memorial Day and the 4th of July are a blast exhibiting lots of bling. We found the camp so enjoyable that we frequently weekended there that year. We found there were about 200 weekenders and about the same number of seasonal campers. Which is one of the reasons we felt so safe. Everyone does a great job keeping the resort camp ground clean and the roads safe. The shower houses and laundry are kept extra clean. There are two nice size fishing docks, so of course they have a separate house for cleaning fish. Kamp Dels rents out pontoons, boats, canoes and paddle boats. They also rent cabins and an A-frame house. We returned the following year as seasonal campers, and the next several years we stayed for the entire summer. We added one more daughter to our family and practically raised her at Kamp Dels. Both our girls learned to ride bikes there. We upgraded our camper several times until we ended up in a new 44 ft Breckenridge. Personally, we enjoyed pontooning, boating, fishing, skiing, tubing and wake boarding, but we enjoyed the staff and campers the most. The only reason we aren't still there is because we bought a lake home in Waterville. Now we can enjoy the good times in Waterville year around. Try it! You may like it so much you never want to leave either. That is what happened to us at Kamp Dels, Waterville, MN. read more

Wow, what a great place for a family weekend. We had so much fun. The entire campground was well kept the staff helpful and if you forgot something there store at the main office was very responsibly priced. We didn't get to see everything there so we will be back for sure. My only criticism is in the girls bathroom the door locks and paper towels where to High for the little girls to lock the doors or to get paper towels. Great place for families. We stayed a Friday-Monday time frame. If you can, I would definitely recommend avoiding a Saturday at all costs as it is PACKED! By Sunday, and even more so into Monday, it was nice and quiet with plenty of space. When we go back, I will be doing a Sunday-Wednesday stay. read more

Just a note to those of you making reservations. I tried to make reservations about 6 months in advance on the sites I had in past years. Kamp Dels has gotten more interested in making money and less interestin keeping customers or acknowledging past business. They want most ALL of their sites around the parks or pool to be a minimum of 5 days stays. Really??? Then, if you want to start moving out and picking sites away from these busier areas for kids, then you have minimums of 3-4 night stays. Finally, the sites FAR away or in undesireable locations (on the hill with no shade, etc), then you are welcome to spend your weekend with Kamp Dels. KAMP DELS, THERE IS WAY TOO MUCH COMPETITION COMING UP FOR OTHER CAMPGROUNDS. YOU"RE NOT THE ONLY OR THE BEST. YOU WILL START LOSING CUSTOMERS, IT JUST MIGHT NOT BE OVERNIGHT. If you are looking for a fun relaxing weekend of camping - this is the place NOT to go. The campground is severely crowded. It was almost impossible to park our camper let alone drive it through the campground without almost hitting other's cars and campers. The staff (and by staff I mean the 10-12 year olds that they have working) run the campground like a concentration camp. Rules, rules, rules... Their quiet time starts at 11 pm which is a reasonable, however, don't make a PEEP after 11 or they will be at your campsite threatening to kick you out. Seriously- not even a whisper is allowed. The pool is extremely over crowded and make is impossible to enjoy your time in the pool. The lines for the diving boards are ridiculous, oh and let's not forget NO CANNONBALLS! This is not a fun campground. This is a fun hating campground that is over priced. Don't waste your money folks. Instead I highly recommend taking your camping adventures to WI and camp at my personal favorite STONEY CREEK RV RESORT in Osseo, WI where you are allowed to have fun. read more

EXPENSIVE, CROWDED, AND NO RELAXATION. I felt our tent was on top of another tent. I had to walk through a campsite to get to the road. Crowded camping and swimming in the pool. Next to highway. Lake was dirty. No dining in at campground. The main office dirty and full of dust. Not much for activities. Charge for swimming. They charged 17.00 for both of my boys to ride the pony for 15 minutes. Good comedian came to act. No building for camping activity such as bands or crafts. The petting zoo is in a tight area with other campers. I wouldn't come here again. read more

Kamp Dels is a great place for RV camping and seasonal camping but not for tents, which is understandable. At the petting zoo all the animals have concrete floors instead of grass. The poor pig has to sleep in a fan...come on now let's get it together. The animals barely have fresh water and work the ponies all day long with no food and a bucket of warm water. Kamp dels would be great if they didn't have the animals under such harsh circumstances. 2/5 stars smh read more

I agree with the other unhappy campers! Very expensive!! Way too crowded...you are packed in like sardines! Kids run all over the roads, which are very narrow. Seems like nobody watches their kids. No radios on past 11 PM...even if they are so low you can hardly hear it. Worst place I have been in 54 years of life! Trying to find the campsite was another issue...off the beaten path and no way to even see the number. cars were blocked in and when someone needed to leave or get back in, we had to move cars around. This doesn't even come close to how bad this place is!!! read more
