We may have been rowdy at times, but Bob and Charmayne were always the best, even though they have retired now. The fresh donuts, diner style eating, and the small town style cabins were always the best. If you are expecting a 5 star Hilton Style resort, you shouldn't be going to these real Minnesota style campsites, but if you enjoy the outdoors, a relaxing escape from every day life, and a friendly place to enjoy... I 100% recommend this place. I will be bringing my family here now that my kids are old enough to enjoy it as well.

Good breakfast. Cons: This hotel has clearly been updated but not maintained well. The ceiling in the lobby bathroom is leaking and has a bucket catching the water. There is peeling wallpaper, cobwebs in the corner of the room, and a dingy shower tray. There was a large spot on the carpet of our room that was wet and got my suitcase and socks soaking wet. The nice patio overlooking the river closes at 10pm. Also, not to be "that person," but we are Marriott Gold Elite, and typically there is mention of that during check in, a note about the free upgraded WiFi, etc. Not only was there none of that when I checked in, I was initially told at 1:30 that it would be "1-2 hours until your room is ready" because they were busy. When I mentioned that this would be past the check in time and that we had a wedding to get to, I was told I was free to get changed in the lobby bathroom.

The people were friendly, the menu was small, but the burgers were huge! Half lb patties with toppings piled high, with mushrooms, swiss cheese and crispy bacon in every bite. The raw onion was fresh & the hand cut fries were hot & crispy. It took a little bit for the food to come out, but the wait was worth it. $13 for a great burger & fries is something you can't really find in the cities anymore, if in the area, definitely check it out!

I bought a new bike there in 2021, and had the absolute best experience. They treated me so well, really nice / good people, and gave me a really great deal on my trade in. I had this service dept install a cam, pipe, air filer, and dyno shortly after I purchased this bike. My bike recently started running rough and had several check engine service codes pop up. This dealer got me in right away to take a look at it. They spent 1 1/2 days on the bike, and ended up updating the aftermarket tune I have in the bike and spent 5 hours on the dyno. My bike runs so good right now, and has a ton of power, it is unreal. They didn't charge me for any of the dyno, and only charged me for the new tire I had put on. Really great company, and just good people there. I will always go to them for service or to purchase any further bikes.

I remember well the weekend that I stayed here with my now fiance. We were looking for apartments…read morein Owatonna at the time and it was the weekend that we got blasted by a huge winter storm. All of the other reservations for that evening cancelled so when I showed up the man behind the counter had assumed that I had cancelled and told me that my reservation (and cheaper room) had been cancelled due to the weather and I would have to pay the normal room rates. Through a very frustrating phone call with Priceline, and forcing them to refax my reservation I finally got checked in, and settled would not really be the way I would put it. The room was very dated. I know that I got a great deal on it, but you could still smell the lingering scent of smoke that some of these older hotels have. The carpet, drapes, furniture, and heaters all had dust covering them. The bathroom was very dated, and while I could tell it had been cleaned it was still tinged different colors than the original tile, and the fixtures were scratched up and blackened with deposit. The old mantra goes, "You get what you pay for." I got an old smelly room that needed a good cleaning, but I paid very very little to stay there for two nights. All in all we will call it a wash. I can't have expected more for what I paid, and they can't have provided better for more.

Pool water temperature was warm and the air temperature was warm but not hot so perfect if you are watching kids play in the pool but not actually in the water. Continental breakfast had a wide variety of options: oatmeal, yogurt with granola, fruit, breakfast burrito station (cooked eggs, ham, onions, bell peppers, cheese), waffle station with cooked berries sauce and of course syrup, donuts, cereal, juices, tea and coffee. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are traveling through the area.
