But Dr. Lehman answered all his questions patiently, made him laugh, and made him feel comfortable about getting his teeth removed. On the day of the surgery, the nurses and anesthesiologist were all very warm and kind, which really helped my son feel relaxed and at home. He had his teeth removed with no problems. I remember when I got my teeth removed (granted - a long time ago) I swelled up like a balloon, but my son didn't have a single bruise and barely any swelling so it was obviously very skillfully done. Thank you Dr. Lehman and staff for an experience that was as smooth as it could be! We appreciate you!!!

I went in today for…read morea routine cleaning, but after wasting 20 minutes of my morning, they flat-out refused to provide any service because I declined dental x-rays. I made it clear I didn't want or feel the need for x-rays, and as a patient, it's my right to refuse them--plain and simple. Informed consent and patient autonomy are basic rights in healthcare, yet this office treated me like I had no say. They wouldn't even perform the cleaning without forcing x-rays on me first. No real explanation beyond "policy," no discussion of alternatives, and zero respect for my decision. This feels like nothing more than a blatant cash grab--pushing unnecessary radiation exposure and extra billing instead of focusing on actual patient care. The staff couldn't (or wouldn't) explain anything properly; they just see patients as dollar signs. Poor communication, zero empathy, and a complete disregard for patient rights. Signature Dental Group (and their "gentle" approach--ironic) is a joke. I will never return, and I strongly advise anyone reading this to go elsewhere. Find a dentist who actually listens to patients and respects their choices instead of strong-arming them into procedures. Save your time and money--avoid this place at all costs.

It's all of the other staff I'm irritated with. The first time I came in, I needed gum tissue removed by Dr. Smulson. Right from the get go, the vibe that the office ladies gave me was that they are cold and cold. Additionally, they very hastily explain paperwork and policies to you like you're dumb. Went back in for a check-up on the corrected gum, and again, the office staff seemed disinterested and unwilling to be a genuine help, like they just wanted to push me out the door. Then, I needed my wisdom teeth removed a few weeks later. I had several different hygienist/assistant ladies help me before, during, and after this surgery, and they all are emotionless people. There is, however, one woman who has short blonde hair and a European accent, and she is an absolute treat -- sweet and friendly. Every other assistant that prepped me never cracked a smile, treated me like a nuisance, and made no effort to be sociable. Here's where my irritation with the receptionists grew. I developed dry sockets post-op, so I quickly scheduled an appointment about a week later, almost one week before my original follow-up on the healed sockets. That impromptu appointment went well, except for the consistently cold customer service from the office staff. Then, I needed an immediate follow-up two days later. A younger woman with long black hair had marked my reminder slip for the McHenry location. So I went there, only to find that the door was locked. When I called to confirm, a different woman acted like I was the stupid one: "Well yeah because it's in Lake in the Hills. Were you just added?" I was already pissed from driving to McHenry for nothing, so I replied, "Two days ago." That's not "just added," according to her. Then she didn't say anything -- didn't offer any solution, any "here's what we'll do" type of speech... nothing. So I said, "Do you want me to head right over or just reschedule?" and she said to head over before ending the call with a meek "okay bye" like she was annoyed. Alright, fine. Drive all the way to the LITH office. 60-second check-up, in and out. The assistant shooed me out the door, and none of the office ladies communicated with or even looked at me, so I turned and headed for the other door, saying, "See you next week" (for my original follow-up post-surgery). THEN they perked up and said not to even show up since I just saw Dr. Sbigoli. Okay... so you idiots were going to let me show up next week anyway? You couldn't acknowledge me as I came out of the room to confirm that everything's paid, I don't have future appointments, etc.? Seriously? Don't get me wrong. I very much liked my doctors and the end results from the procedures I needed. But the hygienists and office staff are careless, conceited people who really don't give a crap and a half about you.

I then have my insurance call them so they can provide them the details of the provider to send the referral to and they refuse, saying my son needs to be seen. But then say they don't see kids. The manager was willing to give me a referral to a place I'd have to pay out of pocket money to, but not the place that accepts my insurance. Then the manager refused to speak with me while I had my insurance on the phone. Don't go here. It's a money grab with poor service.

I even referred my wife who started coming to this location as well and has had number of procedures done as well. I enjoy Dr. Kamps, and his staff and I thought that we have built a great relationship over the years. That all changed when I missed an appointment in December right before the Holidays. When I rescheduled the appointment and came back, I was charged a $100 fee. I understand the fee is in place to prevent customers from missing their appointments all the time, but this was my 1st time in 3 years, and it was during a hectic holiday season. When I asked for the fee to be waived due to it being the "first offense" and the fact that I always pay on time and even referred my wife as an additional customer - they declined and still made me pay their fee. It's unfortunate that this is how they treat their loyal customers and I'll definitely be doing some research for other dentists around the area.
