We were driving from California to Illinois and stopped here late to see if they had a room available. Thankfully they did. Beds were comfortable and the room was nothing fancy, but it was clean. Around 10:00 or 11:00 pm I smell something delicious, biscuits? The next morning we go in for their free breakfast that comes with the room before we head back out, and HOLY COW! It was amazing! Biscuits and gravy, hash brown casserole, apple crisp and all the other fixings of a continental breakfast. 5 stars for the breakfast alone. Very sweet staff too. read more

Nice people, convenient location, clean room, smelled nice, and everything worked properly and wasn't broken/patched. Missed breakfast unfortunately because the night clerk told us it ends at 10am, but in fact it ends at 9am. Parking was great. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat. Kenneth on the phone took our reservation the day before and was very helpful, don't worry about coming in late, somebody will be here unless they want to play Russian roulette with their job. Overall, like their website says, kinda like staying with family but without the drama. read more

Unexpected and great experience! Stayed there on a road trip with my husband and 2 large dogs. Very accommodating to pet owners. Small up charge for pets. As many dogs as I saw being walked by their owners, the inn was so quiet! Walls were cement block, probably the reason the rooms were quiet. Rooms were clean, beds and bedding was comfortable. Pools was a wonderful oasis on our trip! Clean and well kept pool area. Plenty of space behind the inn to walk your dogs. Watch out if you have a hunting dog, there are several bunnies hopping around! Breakfast was such a treat. They had the standard hard boiled eggs, toast, yogurt but this breakfast casserole was delicious! Fresh baked pecan cinnamon rolls all were a delicious! We are on our road trip on our way to California and we need 1 night to stay over night after 11 hrs of driving and we needed a hotel and this popped right away when I saw the good reviews. Yes! It's a cute little hotel if you only need to stay for 1 night.. the staff are very nice and friendly. The room is cute with a touch of country style home, there are 2 things I didn't really like was #1 the toilet is dirty or ( stained ???) Second I am probably too spoiled sleeping on a good mattress. The mattress is just ok but it has my favorite turquoise bedding :-) so it made me smile! And also thank you for the wonderful breakfast with good ambiance and just like what other people says.. it's like visiting grandma's house Other than that! We enjoyed our 1 night stay and we left on time heading to Colorado. Thanks again to all the friendly staff read more

This review is for the RV accomodations on the side of the parking lot for this hotel. Honestly, it's not a very nice place to stay in terms of RV accomodations. It's the side of a parking lot. There are a handful of spots and they're all on top of each other. I wouldn't give it that high of a rating normally, but the WiFi deserves a special shout-out and an extra star or two. RV parks have horrendous WiFi. You use the hotel WiFi here and it is actually functional WiFi. You can stream with no problems. If you need a place to park for the night, this is a good option. read more

A great surprise, just a bit off I-70. Feels like pulling into the drive of your favorite Aunt's home. Lush green lawn - just right for dog walking, charming gazebo for watching sunset. This place is fantastic. Stayed here recently on a driving trip and made the reservation the night before. It's a little off of I70 but not too bad. Checked in and the young lady at the desk was pleasant and helpful. She recommended a local restaurant/bar (The Bluff) which was around the corner and very quaint and again very friendly with an extensive menu for such a little place. The room was clean and "homey" right down to the rocking chair in the corner. Large, comfortable bed in which I had, and needed a great night's sleep in (especially after a bad night's sleep at Motel 6 in Green River, UT. Breakfast is served at 5:30 AM and it smelled great when I went in to check out but I could not partake as I needed to get on the road. I wished that Oakley was my final destination cuz I would be comfortable there. I highly recommend stopping in Oakley, KS and staying at this lodge. read more

It's never a good feeling when you're in the middle of Kansas and a winter storm decides to roll through with vengeance. We were headed to Colorado Springs from KC and ended up getting stuck in Oakley due to the bad roads. With no other choice, we needed to find a hotel that would accommodate dogs as well which is how we came across the Kansas Kountry Inn. Apparently, there are rooms that have been renovated or upgraded, but that was not the case for our room assignment. We were provided a room on the second level which also allowed dogs. There website lists that each pet is a $5 charge, but that has not been updated on the site and is now $10/pet. It's not a terrible increase, but we are not left with much of a choice when the selection of hotels are very limited in a small town. The room was warm when the heater was on, but it cooled very quickly the second the heat kicked off. You can tell the building isn't insulated the best. Either way, we were grateful to even find accommodations for all of us. I was also thankful for the breakfast that's provided by the Inn. It was completely unexpected with their selection and quality of ingredients. It may have been small but it was mighty and filled our bellies with happiness. The staff was very nice and friendly, the breakfast was surprisingly decent, and the room provided a place for us to lay our heads. read more

A refreshing stop on a cross country trip. Not the usual lysol-smelling, artificial eggs for breakfast type of place. Rooms were very clean, grounds were well taken care of, and the staff was incredibly friendly. They just put a little extra effort into everything...left us chocolate kisses, left the dog a treat, and left a rag in case you need to wipe off your windshield. Breakfast was an egg and potatoes casserole, oatmeal, biscuits and gravy. They even have a small rv park on the property. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. read more

We stayed here after reading the reviews and we are really glad we did. This is a jewel in the middle of nowhere. We don't often stay in locally owned hotels but there isn't much to pick from in Oakley. Spotlessly clean, quaint chic decor, comfortable beds and pillows. Front desk was extremely professional and friendly! But the highlight was the absolute best breakfast ever in a hotel! Homemade coffee cake, two kinds of homemade breakfast casseroles, biscuits and gravy, and waffles. A cut above any hotel I've stayed in, including high end deluxe hotels. We will definitely stay again if we ever pass through Oakley again. read more

It has an old school two story motel feel. You are greeted by a friendly staff member, check in and given your "Old School" key on a plastic key holder. You are immediately taken back to years past. We had two rooms, one on the lower floor, and one on the upper floor. The lower floor was a much nicer room, cleaner, updated and had nicer furnishings and decor. The upstairs room was ready for an upgrade. The rooms are on the smaller size, but standard for an old school motel. They have everything you need for a quick over-night stay. The place is not quiet, expect to get awaken by the all the construction workers and truck drivers staying at the hotel that get up at 5 AM, and loudly carry on their morning conversations as they go out and warm up their diesels at 5 in the morning and let them run until everyone in the hotel is awake. Not the Inn's fault - just a lot of hard working people that never learned hotel courtesy. I would highly recommend the lower floor, especially if you have a lot of luggage as their is no elevator, and the rooms are nicer on the lower floor - at least in my case. The town closes down very early, so grab some groceries before it gets too late. Even the I-Hop down the road closes at midnight. They have a nice refrigerator and microwave in the room so you can fix yourself some chow if you plan on eating later in the evening. read more

Friendly staff, very clean rooms with plenty of quality towels (that even fit around the waist of a bigger woman), adequate breakfast, sparkling clean pool, and plenty of places to sit and relax around the property (like a gazebo, picnic tables, etc). Our only complaint was the other guests- some appeared to be construction workers who were drinking beer and smoking cigarettes outside their room by 7pm on a weekday. This was a pleasant surprise. Went off of other reviews and we are glad we did. Clean rooms, friendly staff, and great breakfast. Even homemade coffee cake, egg scramble, biscuits and gravy, waffles, and all the other usual breakfast goodies. Will stay here again. They are in the process of putting in a coffee bar too. The only drawback was the beds weren't the greatest but you get that everywhere. The owner talked with us and told us they are updating so we expect it to be even better than it was. When we entered, the desk person did not have a mask on. I waited but he didn't put one on until I asked him to. He then rolled his eyes, and disappeared for at least 2 minutes to some back room to find one. Disappointing. Then we were told hot breakfast started at 5:30 am. Stranded in Oakley for 2 days - paid about $70/night. Clean room, good beds, really nice staff. Breakfast in the AM was tasty and covered all the bases. Could use some general maintenance upkeep - ceilings in our room had a few holes which was mildly off putting but all things considered we got our rest and didn't have any issues with our stay.
