    Hotspot Donair
    Matthew H.

So I think I've found my favourite lunch spot in Williams Lake. I enjoy food with a little heat and the Hotspot donair was right up my alley. I made one mistake in that I ordered a salad when I went to pay. The salads are made to order and would take 5 minutes or so, my impatience got the better of me so I ordered the soup. I will definitely be back for a donair and salad another day. The staff was very friendly and helpful even in the middle of a lunch rush. A lot of people came through but it never seemed busy. The tables, food prep area and washrooms were very clean. I can see parking being a little tricky during busier times in the area but this is a gem of a restaurant and I highly recommend making your way here if you are in Williams Lake!

    Delish donair!

Dumpy looking place and not very friendly service. Food is OK but more expensive than what it's worth.

Dog 'n' Suds Restaurant - "Spicy" (not really) bratwurst with the classic Dog & Suds sauce and sauerkraut on a sesame seed bun. With crispy onion rings.

These things hit the plate like they were built by professionals. Thick, perfect, and buried under enough peaches and whipped cream to shut up my inner cardiologist. Look at that thing it's like dessert and a peace offering had a baby. The eggs? Sunny-side-up like they were drawn by a cartoonist who actually cares. The sausages? Glossy little grease torpedoes that made me feel emotions I haven't felt since Sabrina told me I "focus too much on work" and refused to come on this trip. Yeah, babe maybe I DO focus too much on work. Because WORK paid for these pancakes!!! Some restaurants give you food. This place gives you forgiveness. The second I put on my suit this morning, I felt the evil rising in me like a lex Luther but Dog 'n' Suds hit me with a plate so good it almost made me a better person. Almost.. If you're passing through Bills pond eat here Maybe you're a good person doing something wholesome ,hiking, visiting family, saving the world one gluten-free muffin at a time. Or maybe you're like me... Rolling into town to log, burn, pave, or dig a hole the size of God's regret so you can extract something dark and shiny from the earth and sell it for money at the cost of humanity. Either way you're gonna need breakfast. These folks don't miss.

I must say that this is the best dinner we have enjoyed in these parts, or anywhere else in a long time. This is obviously a small family operation and their care and attention really shows. Starting with the service, it was simply outstanding. Our coffees and ice waters were never empty. The water was clearly filtered and tasted great. The coffee was equal to the best we have enjoyed in any upscale restaurant, and the price was excellent in light of the unending refills. My wife and I both enjoyed our main course. I ordered the chicken stuffed with cream cheese and spinach and my wife had the wild salmon. The meals were clearly prepared from scratch with fresh ingredients. In addition to the usual options of rice or baked potato, you can choose pasta or a twice baked (stuffed potato). Everything was prepared and cooked to perfection and the portions were generous, leaving us fully satisfied after our meal. In addition a great meal we enjoyed the peaceful view of the quiet lake from the outdoor patio. It was cloudy when we were there, but I'm sure they must have some amazing sunsets when it isn't. If you are heading down Highway 97 just before the 108 Ranch around dinner hour, just exit at the Heritage site and look for Vidas in the log home just north of the Heritage site. You won't be disappointed. If I could I'd give this place a 6 out of 5!

One server was young, but dressed nice and she is very pleasant and quick...more mature than many I have dealt with who are 30 despite her young years. One of the few places that makes a great caesar salad. The fettucine alfredo with chicken was awesome. Beer nice and cold and the glass it came with was spotless. Food was delicious and we will be back for sure.
