We stopped in at the Moser Factory and Museum as part of a day tour from Prague to the town of…read moreKarlovy Vary. It was the first stop on our trip (through Premiant Day Tours). We started off with a short video in the museum area about artisan glass blowing, carving and etching. Our group consisted of English and Spanish speakers, and the video is available in several languages. The pieces on display in the museum are ordered by time period and are a lovely, and sometimes elaborate, representation of the artistry produced by the factory. We were then taken to the work warehouse. They are an active production facility, and you get to walk around the production floor where they are blowing and shaping glass pieces and taking them to cooling areas. They work so quickly and efficiently! Much faster than I expected them to be. It was fascinating to walk through and see. To finish, you walk through the store to continue to see the craftsmanship at work, and be awestruck at the eye-popping prices! What I would give to be able to afford a few beautiful things from here.... What a wonderful experience! I would recommend a visit to Karlovy Vary, and a stop in at Moser would be icing on the cake of your visit!

If you've been looking for a Tiki bar during your trip to Carlovy Vary, look no further!…read more It attracted my attention during my visit of Karlovy Vary as a place that looked like it could be into Tiki coctails, so when at the end of the evening I had an opportunity to stop there with some extended family, I absolutely jumped on the opportunity. And oh boy was I not disappointed. While the decoration is not on the level of pioneers of the Tiki revival, the bar fends off for itself pretty well and boasts a massive wall of various alcohols, liquors and infusions as it's bar - that is put to good use in its menu. In addition to several expected classics and a couple of local riffs on different Tiki themes, they also have a special Karlovy Vary blend - served in a typical mineral water drinking cup and based almost entirely on different Becherovkas. While I got that one as a meme, it actually was surprisingly delicious - a pity the recipe will be kept secret by that spot for a while! The namesake cocktail of the Bar (Barracuda: rum, galliano, ananas and lemon juices, prosecco) was quite great as well - I was really not disappointed. With all of that, the price remains still reasonable (by western standards), so my final take is that it's a pretty amazing spot!
