Karen did a great job representing me on my divorce. I would definitely recommend her.

I initially started out with a consultation because I was so confused about what to do after my mom passed. It had been months since she passed and I was just going to walk away and leave her business affairs unfinished. After taking care of my mom for a year and a half while she was sick, I was exhausted. To say the least, I was a mess upon meeting Ms. Gray. Ms. Gray and her associates were so caring. I felt at ease the moment we met. On that initial consultation she explained all procedures and processes THOROUGHLY! I still didn't know what action I was going to take, though if I was going the "proper" route, it would be with Ms. Gray's office. For months I did nothing, and put of the blue received a call directly from Ms. Gray asking about my well-being and if I need anything. It was then I decided it was time to do the right thing and close out my mother's business affairs. Ms. Gray held my hand and guided me the entire time. She kept me up to date the whole time. Made sure I stayed on top of what I needed to do to make the process continued. She sent an angel my way to help with my mom's property. A year and some change later everything is complete and I know my mother would be grateful for all Tawana Gray has done to make sure she left this earth with everything in-line to how she ran her life while she was here. Thank you so much Ms. Gray, you have been heaven sent!

I had extend this gesture first. This attorney was very dismissive, fumbled over the rules of the law and asked me about certain aspects of the law. He had to leave for around 10-15 minutes to go look up laws and then returned with a Google print out of what I should do to file my own case. I was very confused and asked for clarification on his actions. He said that since I had th3 legal plan that he felt he gave me what the plan paid for,l and that if he wanted him to represent me, that it would be " around 300/hr , taking him 5 hours so I would need to pay $1,500. I reiterated that I had already had a judgment in favor and that I wanted him to file a motion on my behalf to the other attorney. As a physician assistant of over 20 years, and professional, please save yourself the trouble or this particular attorney who's demeanor obviously states, "I'm not happy with my life right now" and google what he will do for your case. I should also mention that we drove up at the same time for my consult and I observed his demeanor in the car before I got out. I should have followed my first mind and drove off. You've been warned!

He sat in my living room 2 years ago and spoke with in detail my now deceased stepdad. Today his "secretary" who is also rude and unprofessional called me to ask to speak with my deceased stepdad because she was unable to contact him to tell him his house was up for auction. I asked her where she gets her information and she should know that she's calling the wrong person, especially since this office has represented multiple family members, mind you she was the one answering phones, at all occasions. She continues to press me for information in order to state in her accent "Mr Downing told me to call to tell you (I'm not the person she asked to speak too, as she fumbles her words) your house is up for auction". I hang up. I call back and ask to speak with Mr Downing (son) and the secretary proceeds to tell me ( I hear her being directed in the background) He no longer represents you he'll need $100 to speak with you. Tell me what was the purpose of calling me if that was going to be the response? I find the entire encounter despicable, unprofessional and plain sad. I will be reporting him to the office he answers too and writing more reviews concerning. My overall experience with him was mostly negative and unprofessional. He sits in his office and yells what he is not going to do. He's a bully and a disgraceful person. I will never recommend him to anyone again.

The company as a whole demonstrates a lack of flexibility and open communication. Procedures are…read morerepeatedly justified with statements such as "it is our policy," yet copies of these policies are not readily provided when requested. Clients are asked to complete extensive paperwork containing highly personal information before any initial consultation takes place. When questions or concerns are raised, the response is often that it may be "best to part ways," as though the firm is entitled to decide on a client's behalf. This approach reflects a lack of integrity and compassion in dealing with people. The law was created by and for the people, not to be shielded behind vague policies. If Crain and Wooley prefer to operate strictly behind internal policies rather than transparency and dialogue, that is their choice--but it speaks volumes about their values.

Crain & Wooley claims "Transparency, Integrity & Compassion in All Things!!" It's true!…read more My husband & I are faced with an "unpleasant" situation and all the advice in the world hasn't helped us understand our legal rights. We did a deep search on what kind of lawyer we needed and who in our area knew this kind of law. We found a few firms that were a good fit for us, but Crain & Wooley got our business first because they offered a generous free consultation. Giving back to the community (offering services) gave us a chance to learn more about our dilemma without it costing us $$$$. The process for getting a consultation was straightforward and easy. Crain & Wooley are great people to work with! They assigned us to Shelly Joyner. We were pleased to meet someone so friendly, and not intimidating. She talked about the weather, football, and family before we got down to business. She became human to us, someone we could trust, she was much more than a straight-faced serious 'get to the point' lawyer. Her approach made us comfortable in revealing a situation that was private and personal to us. She patiently listened to our story. She looked through the documents we brought. She looked up a few things she had access to and then gave us some advice that finally made sense. We were impressed with her explanations, compassion for our situation and went into the details for the services we would need to fix it. It was time well spent. We certainly have work to do! We need to do it asap, but there was no high pressure sales from Ms. Joyner. She offered to make an appointment to get started, but she was perfectly ok with us returning when we were ready. We have a few things to sort through before we dive in. Nonetheless, this is our law firm. We will be giving them our business. If you are seeking legal guidance regarding estate planning options or review what you think you have in place, this is your law firm! I'm confident that anyone you are assigned to will professional.

Later, after leaving, I said I would continue with the process, and when I got home in the afternoon, I ended up making the payment, which was my mistake--making the payment before reading all the documentation thoroughly. The next day, on the 20th, I received the information I needed to sign the agreement. Unfortunately, starting from the night of the 19th, I became very sick, with high fever, body aches, and I couldn't get out of bed. I felt too ill to take the time to carefully read the documents, as they advised, and as I understand any legal process should be done--by reading everything carefully. Today, Tuesday the 25th, is the first day I could finally get out of bed, and I received an urgent email asking me to contact the office. I did, and the secretary transferred me to Mrs. Garner, who treated me with a burst of bad attitude and spoke very inappropriately for someone dealing with a client who's just gotten out of bed after being ill. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Later, I contacted Mrs. McDaniel again to ask about the refund, and she told me that Mrs. Garner wouldn't be back until next Monday due to the holidays, and that she would decide on the refund amount. But the agreement clearly states that nothing can be done until I sign the documents, and I haven't signed anything. I was genuinely not in a condition to read them thoroughly, as any legal process requires. So, I don't recommend these people at all, because as long as they have your money, they're friendly and will even offer you cough medicine or some water or coffee, but once they have the money, they become very harsh and disrespectful. I explained to them that I had just gotten out of bed and had been alone, taking medication, and they just didn't care. To add, now I depend on Mrs. Garner's discretion to refund my money, and on what amount she considers appropriate to return, even though no actions were supposed to be taken until I signed any documents.
