I can't say enough about how wonderful it was to work with Karen and her team this past July for my wedding at Windham, NY. I highly highly highly recommend using Karen's flower shoppe! 1 - She was attentive: came with us to the venue multiple times to understand the flow of events and made excellent suggestions. 2 - She was flexible: we made a last minute, day of, change to move the cocktail hour inside and she didn't miss a beat. 3 - She was realistic: we planned an outside wedding on July 4th which came with some restrictions on flowers that would stand up to the heat. Karen told us what would work and helped us swap out appropriate flowers to get the look we were going for. 4 - She was enthusiastic about learning something new: We had a semi-traditional wedding with a bedeken (veiling ceremony) and a chuppah (marriage canopy) both of which were draped in flower garlands. Despite not knowing what I was talking about she did her research and asked great questions, knowing that the more she learned from me the more she would be able to help her business in the future 5 - She has a fantastic eye: the flowers turned out BEAUTIFUL and she introduced me to new flowers that I didn't know existed. All of the guests remarked on how perfect the arrangements were for the venue and feel of our wedding. 6 - Her flowers lasted: we used them for the cocktail hour, ceremony, reception AND a BBQ the next day, outside! I am an avid user and believer in Yelp. So being from Long Island I need to find a florist near Catskill NY. Karen's was a little up the road but would deliver to St Patrick's Cemetery in Catskill. I explained how I had grave blankets delivered to my family plots in Newburgh only to find out I paid but nothing was sent out. Twice! I went to Karen's Flower Shoppe two months before my wedding, hoping she could help me pull together a large assortment of wild flowers for my wedding. I didn't know the names of any of the flowers, and only had a printed picture collage with me to reference. That didn't matter, because Karen knows her flowers! Within a matter of minutes, she had made a list of 15+ wild flowers from the photos I showed her. She also got on the phone immediately and called a colleague, to ensure that they could get these flowers from California in time for my wedding (since the flowers were out of season). On the day of the wedding, Karen's team delivered all of the flowers to our house. When my bridesmaids and I saw them, we couldn't stop squealing. They were even more beautiful than I thought they would be. We used them to decorate our wooden farm tables inside the barn (where we had the reception), and they looked absolutely incredible. I hired them to do my wedding flowers. I don't live nearby, so we only had a phone consult, and I definitely had my fingers crossed on the day of the wedding. I was greatly relieved when the flowers arrived and they were absolutely perfect! Karen pulled off exactly what I wanted to a T. Karen put together all the flowers for my daughters wedding on June 15th. The colors matched the bridesmaids dresses to a T. The brides bouquet was spectacular. Since I am Scottish, she was able to get me a Thistle ( my national flower) for my purse. For the cocktail hour we gave her small vases with colored beads and she was able to match the flowers and ribbon around the vases. It was a huge surprise. We ordered a corsage for a surprise birthday party and the final product was not as expected. When asked to redo this with more details, the women behind the counter argued with me that tlwhat they made was a standard corsage. Arguing with a customer about what the customer wants is poor customer service. I do not recommend their services due to their poor customer service. read more
