Kim didn't just want to know what we wanted for florals at our wedding - she wanted to get to know us, what we were hoping to achieve with our overall wedding vibe, and learn what type of people we are so that she can go ahead and make personalized, custom magic beyond our wildest dreams. Early March I had the need to work with the Rosery. My mom had past and I had to order funeral flowers. Deb was amazing. She understood I did not want the typical FTD looking funeral arrangements. What I wanted was for my moms flowers to feel natural and garden like. The Rosery worked with hydrangea, peonies, iris's, mimosa, curly willow and lots of forsythia. They coordinated all the arrangements ordered by friends to match what I had on order. It was beautiful. Mom looked like she was asleep in a garden. Both friends and family were amazed. I worked with Erin at The Rosery for our wedding at a nearby barn. She did such an A+ job, I'm still dreaming about the florals. Erin stayed on point with my color scheme (wine red) and somehow managed a beautiful fall theme wedding with not much orange (Ha!). From the get-go, she was value oriented (used all seasonal stuff but sprinkled in requests, i.e. calla lilies in my bouquet) professional, responsive, and big on the details. For instance, I didn't even bring up what I wanted the bouquets to be wrapped in and she proactively reached out. She provided great advice on balancing the budget and take where to add and take away things. I leaned on her so much and honestly really felt as though she understood my taste, even when I had trouble explaining things myself or sent undefined Pinterest photos! While Erin was 100% full service, she also provided me with some DIY elements I did myself like bittersweet branches, and wheat - it was so nice to be able to get everything from her. What I appreciated the most was that I truly felt our personal flowers, centerpieces (combo of rustic box and garlands) were so unique which is how I definitely feel I am! Our experience with Erin and The Rosery was simply stupendous and outstanding! Erin was so easy to work with, she is so kind, patient, understanding and creative! This was my first floral purchase since we moved up this way from Long Island. I chose this rustic, old fashioned shop strictly at random. It turned out to be a really good choice. I dealt with Winnie, another former Long Islander, who was a pleasure. She prepared an arrangement for my wife for her birthday which dovetailed with my color scheme request very nicely. From one bride to another, DO NOT go here if you want a florist you can trust. My list can go on and on but I will start with our email correspondence. Not only did we exchange multiple emails but we had 3 in person meetings to create my wedding vision. I gave her multiple photos of what I wanted. When the wedding came closer she kept making mistakes on the invoice, for example, writing "blue hydrangeas" when I specifically had always only said white. This was all worrisome, and should have put up red flags but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. Bad choice on my part. The day before my wedding, the day of my rehearsal dinner, Jeanne told me she would be at my house (the location of my wedding) at 8am. I woke up at 7 to make sure I had everything I wanted to go over organized. 9am rolls around and nobody shows up. I call the flower shop and she casually says "oh, I decided I am not coming today. I will be there tomorrow instead." First of all, I planned my own wedding so waking up at 7am the day before my wedding was the last thing I wanted to do that day when I had a huge rehearsal to get ready for. Second of all, who doesn't have the consideration to call or even apologize for not showing up. The day of the wedding comes around and this is when the list gets so much longer. Nobody shows again in the morning to go over what was going to happen. Finally I call again (nobody calls me) and says they will be here at 1pm now. When nobody showed at 1pm I had to hand over this task to my father and father-in-law because I was GETTING READY TO WALK DOWN THE ISLE at 5pm. Finally we call again and they eventually show at 3pm. They were SOOOO RUDE, mean and hurtful with the way they treated us, costumers that just spent almost $4,000 on flowers that we were about to see looked NOTHING like all the photos in the pictures and "wedding vision" we had created. My father in law noticed right away when some of the flowers were being taken out of the truck that these must be for someone else wedding. Well, they weren't. I asked for garlands of hydrangeas and got a garland of leafs with 2 peonies stuck in it. NOT even hydrangeas! I asked for enough rose petals to cover a 30ft isle 2x's over. I asked for an astronomical amount and PAID for that, and they handed my father a zip lock bag that wasn't even enough to sprinkle down the isle. I asked for 200 daisies and they gave my father like 50 and yelled at him when he asked where the rest were. Later we saw they were placed on our kitchen table. So they were yelling at us that we were wrong when they had misplaced them. My centerpieces looked nothing like the photos I gave them. My list could go on but I think any bride looking for a florist understands that this is NOT what you want to deal with or not be able to trust your florist to give you what you want or what you paid for. Luckily my wedding was at a gorgeous outdoor location and we had been planting flowers for 2 months so to the guests, it didn't look like it was missing flowers. I can't imagine how livid and I would be if my wedding was in a reception hall and depended on the flowers entirely. read more

Fourth year in a row I ordered flowers from the Rosery and the fourth year they a not what you I ordered. When you call they don't care you are unhappy that it isn't what ordered and are very rude. Save yourself a ton of money and head to WalMart and make your own arrangement it will look better and you will save a ton of money. read more

To say we were satisfied with The Rosery's work is an understatement, we were truly blown away with the result we received for our Ukrainian-Jamaican wedding. We had one meeting with Winnie during which we provided the vision of our special day in writing with some images. The proposal was sent within a couple of days. It was very transparent and detailed with pictures of all items. We chose White Phalaenopsis Orchid as our main flower. We both like orchids and they are popular in Jamaica. Rosery made a tremendous research and got us the best orchids I ever seen in my life. They were huge! Some of our guests were not sure if the flowers were real. The bride bouquet was just gorgeous - cascade shape bouquet. Despite of the hot June weather flowers look nice and fresh. In addition to White Phalaenopsis Orchid we ordered Purple Phalaenopsis for the bridal party. Unfortunately this flower was stuck in the airport for too long and was delivered in bad condition. But the owner of Rosery Shop just having two days left got us replacements! Also one day prior to the wedding I order another bouquet with purple orchids, which wasn't even listed on the contract. I still don't know how they got that bouquet done! But, I think, the most intriguing and the most challenging was my desire to create traditional Ukrainian wreaths with real flowers for my bridesmaids. When we had our meeting and I showed the image of one of the most elaborate wreaths, I was told that it would be quite unlikely to recreate something like that. I muted my demand. I muted it just in order to be totally surprised! On the day of the wedding when the flower delivery arrived together with the owner of the shop I couldn't believe my eyes! I, being Ukrainian, was absolutely mesmerized by the beauty and the quality of the work. The owner of the shop made those wreaths by herself for the first time in her life! My bridesmaids were so proud to wear those works of art. They looked fabulous. All my guests wanted to take pictures with my girls. In addition to the wreaths my bridesmaids had wrist corsages, which were in complete harmony with their hair décor. Our unity candles, six center pieces, sign in table, dessert table, bar table and cocktail tables looked great. Each table was decorated by floating candles in the glass cylinders different sizes and there were rings of red rose petals. In the middle, of course, there were magnificent white orchids. All orchids were in pots, so on the end of the evening our guests were able to take flowers home as our wedding present for them. I called the shop in the morning to order a fresh-cut flower bouquet for my wife's birthday. I asked if they could deliver locally and they were happy to oblige. The delivery was done in a timely fashion and my wife appreciated the gesture. The flowers themselves were very pretty, but what was disappointing was the fresh-cut bouquet had a minimum order of $35, which is what I had asked for, but the seven , yes 7 flowers that were delivered as a fresh cut Bouquet was very disappointing. When I called to express my opinion on what was sent, I was quoted the cost of individual flowers along with the cost of the bubble bowl that they were delivered in and ultimately was told I needed to do a better job of requesting what I specifically wanted rather than leaving it up to the florist. The conversation turned rude and confrontational and I doubt I will be ordering from them ever again based on that conversation alone. I don't feel it's necessary to tell someone who has no flower experience that I should know the cost of flowers and know exactly what I wanted. I was given the impression that the order was my fault versus being informed of what would be sent while the order was being placed. Overall, it was bad communication and bad presentation. read more

Unfortunately this is not the Rosery I knew long ago- atrocious prices that take advantage of those wanting arrangements for funerals and weddings. Cold woman at register, I assume owns it - no doubt from the city. My family purchased a very small arrangement for my mother's funeral, which I myself could have made, it put them back $150! Nothing fancy or worth that price. The store smelled of dried flowers instead of a beautiful floral scent you find in an average florist shop. Ladies, have you ever needed and oil change, and went to a generic little auto shop. You walk in, ask for help. The guy goes "blah blah blah do this" and asks for your money, says they can take care of everything. You know you're being screwed, but you hand over your money, because you just need it done. Perhaps they change the oil, maybe not... Reverse gender roles, and a guy walks in to a flower shop, asks for help. Woman with fake Australian accent realizes immediately said male knows nothing about flowers, immediately asks how much money in willing to spend, offers no advice because a customer with more money is behind ignorant out-of-town male. Offers vague assurances while discounting my reservations. Wouldn't send a picture of arrangement because it will take "too much time". -------------------------------- Flower arrangement was pretty, and delivery occurred as requested. I feel like the money value was fair. I would use them again for local deliveries, but I won't drive out of my way. So today I ordered a flower arrangement from The Rosary in Hudson to be delivered about a half mile away from the flower shop, just to the bank at the park on Warren St. The woman asked how much I'd like to spend so I said $25, just a small "thank you" type arrangement. She tells me that it's $35 minimum to deliver, so I said, ok that's fine. I ask for pink flowers and gave her my card # and said thank you. Well, I just check my card and it's charged $46.44. I know, it's only $10 more than I thought I'd spend - actually $20 if you consider I originally wanted to spend $25 and I figured there was tax - but still, $10 is lunch! So I call. The owner tells me with an attitude that "most people know there is a delivery charge". I responded by saying "most people tell all of their fees when quoting prices and I assumed that the delivery was in the cost you quoted me". Then she says "well you didn't ask for a total!" I responded by saying that it was "bad business to charge people for things they didn't know about" at which point she yells "YOU WIN don't pay for the delivery fee" and hangs up on me!! I was in shock. I can't believe the lack of customer service and nasty attitude! I will never go there again and will share this story with everyone I know! read more
