    Loki graduating from puppy kindergarten

We worked with Kate Hart both for privates and puppy kindergarten and she was absolutely the best: calm, patient, amazing with our dogs, and non-judgmental. Apart from getting the commands down, she taught us techniques to help our German Shepard puppy get over his anxiety with strangers. Furthermore, because of her guidance, walking our 100 pound puppies is now a dream, when before it was a bit a disaster zone (one would pancake randomly on the ground when he wanted to cross the street, while the other loved to pull). Kate helped us understand our dogs needs better, establish boundaries, and we are all so much happier for it. Puppy kindergarten was also a very important part of this process because you get to train in an more challenging environment while also socializing your puppies (something that was especially hard last year-2020).

We had a great experience with Kathryn and Kelsey of Karma Dog Training. After doing my research, my fiancé and I decided to go with Karma Dog Training for our puppy Leo based on the reviews. Leo is a goldendoodle and started puppy kindergarten around 12 weeks. He caught on to the lessons very quickly and we really enjoyed the format of the class with play time since he needed the socialization with other pups. He was timid and shy in the beginning and didn't really care to interact with any of the dogs but after a few weeks, he was the life of the party--the fluffiest and probably still the clumsiest but he loves doing his tricks and playing with other dogs. We will continue working with Karma Dog Training in hopes of him becoming a canine good citizen. Another note: I really appreciated the precaution they made with keeping the facility clean and having everyone disinfect their shoes before stepping into the area. Since socialization is very important and should start early probably before most puppies are able to complete their vaccinations, I felt safe knowing we were in a clean environment.

I was so, so scared to bring my 9 week old puppy, Stella, to class, against our breeder's recommendation of 16 weeks/fully vaccinated. But I really wanted to get Stella socialized as early as possible. I reached out to Kat and she was extremely helpful and supportive, sending me lots of information about the benefits of early socialization, and papers about the very low risk of a puppy contracting something in a sterilized environment. Kat did a great job putting my worries at ease and assured me the facilities are very clean-- sterilized each class, so I went ahead and signed Stella up! I am so glad I signed Stella up when I did! She was chasing and nipping at other puppies the first day, but each class I felt like she was a completely different dog! Stella is very mellow around other dogs now that she is socialized and I was able to learn the most efficient way to train her. Kat, Kelsey and Shelby were attentive, patient, amazing trainers. And it's obvious they love what they do. They covered all of the basics, which I thought I knew, having done puppy classes with our family dogs growing up, but to my surprise, there are much better ways to train a puppy. I left class each Sunday feeling I had learned the most effective way to train Stella. While Stella learned 8 valuable commands, she also learned the invaluable lesson of early puppy socialization. Karma Puppy Class was so much fun and while we're a little sad it's over, we will be continuing on with basic obedience! I highly recommend Karma puppy classes, it's fun for everyone and the puppies are so cute!

When we got our puppy we did a LOT of research into the best way to train our dog and when we found Karma, went through their site, and reached out to discuss with them we felt very confident that we were making the right decision. After our little boy Benny graduated from puppy classes and after completing our private in home training with Kat I can firmly say we made the right decision. We are continuing our training at obedience classes moving forward. We can't say enough great things about Kat and how knowledgeable and helpful she has been raising our new dog. She can give you direction in patiently correcting any issue while helping educate you on how to raise the happiest and most obedient pup!

    Miss Momo

A short 6 weeks ago, my family and I added a new family member to our brood - an adorable (we think she is at least) Shiba Inu named Momo. We did A LOT of research before making the commitment, and everything we read, every owner we spoke with, every friend who had one said the exact same few things: socialize them early, keep them socialized, and for your sanity, get them in puppy training classes STAT. Shibas are notoriously smart, stubborn, and wily. As with the choice of dog, we researched a number of training classes and companies, and it came down to two, one of which was Karma Dog. I called and spoke with Jeff, and was so impressed with his calm demeanor and depth of knowledge, I was won over. Luckily, KD was starting a Puppy Kindergarten class series very close to where we live, so after much discussion, we decided to attend a class. Enter the Karma Dog Training Team. Kat, Ashley and Kelsey are all relentlessly positive and very calm, which we need with our stubborn little lady sometimes. They easily work with our class of up to 10 dogs, and they all get a kick out of the pups' antics. Kat typically leads the class, and she does an amazing job. I've watched her calm a very excited husky and get her to stay in place right after puppy playtime, which is really tough because all of the dogs are still wound up from chasing each other. She has a wonderful touch with all of the breeds thrown at her. Ashley and Kelsey never fail to have wise input when we have questions, and they are wonderful with our girl. Oh, and our daughter is the one who is doing most of the work in the class. She is the only pre-teen there, and they're just as patient with her as they are with our pup. They encourage all of the family members who interact with the dogs to attend. We couldn't be more pleased with the results. Our little Momo is now sitting, laying down, rolling over, and staying with ease. We look forward to continuing her training with the basic obedience classes. I highly recommend Kat, Ashley and Kelsey if you want a quality team of people helping guide you through training your pup.

Jax on the day of his graduation

My husband and I knew that training would be a crucial component to a well behaved boxer. There are many options out there, but Karma Dog Training with Kathryn and Kelsey felt like the very best for Jax. My husband and I both feel that positive reinforcement is the best method. Puppy Kindergarten was everything we expected, if not more!! Kathryn and Kelsey were so attentive to our little monster Jax. They are there for any questions, and we loved that they always observed us to give us feedback during training. We immediately felt comfortable with them, and we knew we could trust their advice. Also, I loved how clean they were, which is important to someone like me that works in Infection Control and Prevention! The sequence of the course is sooo important. It's playtime, training, playtime, training, playtime, and then finally a time for relaxation/overview/questions. It allows the puppies to have fun in between all that mental stimulation! The only negative thing, we wanted it to last forever! We enjoyed going with Jax and we really appreciated everything Kathryn and Kelsey did..And, we know Jax is going to miss how spoiled he was by Kelsey. We hoping to continue obedience training with the two :)

    Erin B.

We enrolled Daisy, our first puppy (husky), in Karma Dog Training kindergarten class 4 days after we got her, at which point she was just over 7 weeks old. Since she hadn't completed her entire round(s) of vaccinations and couldn't be around most dogs or dog-visited areas, these classes were critical in her early-stage socialization with people and other dogs in a safe and controlled environment. We lived approximately 35-45 minutes away, which also gave Daisy an excellent opportunity to learn how to be a good passenger riding in a vehicle for extended periods of time. The drive was definitely worth it. Kat, the instructor, is a patient, kind, knowledgeable, clear, concise, and efficient trainer with dogs AND humans. The other staff members helping out were also very kind and patient. Kat introduced us to ways of luring our puppy into all of the basic obedience actions needed for life: sit, lay down, stay, come, walk nicely on a leash, leave it, get in your bed, and more. There are also several "puppy play time" breaks throughout the training session to give everyone a chance to reset, relax, enjoy each others' company, and socialize in a controlled manner. Karma offers a wealth of information in the form of online access to literature, videos, etc. in an extremely user-friendly format in addition to guidance from the instructors at any time. I can't recommend Karma Dog Training highly enough. It is evident that Kat is passionate about her career, which translates into an outstanding dog/puppy-training experience for everyone involved. It is so important for dogs and humans to learn how to communicate effectively with each other, and this is exactly what Karma Dog Training teaches. Thank you Kat and Karma Dog Training for the excellent experience!

Thank you to Karma Dog Training and Trainer Kathryn Hoohuli!!! My puppy graduated Kindergarten with Lexi and that was amazing...then Kathryn came to my retail space so Squish-e could adapt to being with me at work and she did such an amazing job that I had her help me train at home with my mom so she could watch him while I was at work. Karma Training is amazing!!! I never thought a Lhasa Apso could be trained....my Lhasa sits, lays down, stays, comes when called and I owe it all to Karma!!!! Karma, Lexi and Kathryn ROCK!!!'

    Ollie!

As good as it possibly gets! My boyfriend and I recently adopted our first puppy together, little Ollie Bear! Needless to say, we were overwhelmed. We finally decided to take the plunge and put him in puppy classes at around 10 weeks old. I'm so beyond grateful for the incredible team at Karma. Kathryn, Kelsey and Shelby went above and beyond every single class. Not only do they put your mind at ease, but Ollie has grown so much in the 8 weeks in the program. He was very shy and overwhelmed the first few weeks of class, but Kathryn assured us to stick with it. Sure enough, 8 weeks later and it was Ollie's favorite part of the week. Not only is the socialization so critical, but all three of the trainers are so hands on and teach you (and your pup) a new vital skill each week. Without a doubt, it was worth every penny and Ollie will continue with Karma's obedience classes after this! I can't thank the Karma team enough.

    Zoey after first class
    Jey K.

This was such a great class! The trainers are very patient and caring with each dog that comes in and it shows in the results! My puppy Zoey has excelled in her training and loved every minute of being in class! Strangers comment on how well behaved she is in public and you can really tell the difference in my pup and the others puppies at the dog park that have received no training. I highly recommend coming to this class for all new owners!

Chuy's version of reduce, reuse, recycle
    Amy H.

I recently adopted a pit bull puppy and I was determined to do everything I could to raise him to be the friendliest and most well-behaved dog to ever exist. I did a great deal of research and specifically sought out positive training methods rather than corrective, negative reinforcement. Karma Dog was everything I was looking for. "Chuy" could get some socialization and I could start shaping his behaviors and bond with him doing our "homework" training practice. Chuy started puppy kindergarten class timid and hiding. He's now a confident youngster. I saw this happen with every puppy that came in timid, by week two they were right in the mix playing and racing around - it was beautiful to see. The generous amount of time allotted for off-leash puppy play time is both unique and integral to a well-socialized dog. I have been a dog mom since 1995 and I have gone to dozens of puppy classes and dog trainers; this is the first time I have been able to have a puppy meet and play with other puppies in a safe, enclosed environment. Chuy graduated with experience in adjusting the intensity of his greeting and play based on the reaction of the other dog. He sits when he meets new people, (nearly) never jumps up, and knows hand signals and verbal commands for several useful behaviors (my favorite being "Leave it" as he is a sock thief). He's been very easy to train with these methods and I am grateful at not having to manhandle the little guy with any choke chain corrections or electric zappers. Because this training is positive and kind, the bond of trust that I have with Chuy doesn't get damaged during training (which feels more like playing because the puppy gets to have a good time and treats). Kat, Shelby(? I am horrible with names) and Kelsey have an amazing amount of patience and run a tight ship in terms of keeping the space (at PAWparazzi) safe and clean. They are great with answering questions and obviously adore dogs. They exhibit a great deal of understanding for dogs and humans, even when the humans make mistakes :-) . Karma Dog also offers a great deal of support and information online. It's really comprehensive training and so much more. I felt at every step that Kat and her helpers were in our corner and really cared about the puppies and people succeeding. It was a great experience for me and Chuy LOVED it. We'll be going on to Basic Obedience as soon as possible. I would recommend Kat and Karma Dog to anyone with a canine.

Amazing experience! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. My husky Lucas learned has learned a lot since he started here. If anyone is looking for puppy classes you need to enroll them here !! thanks to the staff here for being so sweet to my pup !

    Graduation day!

This place is awesome! We started the puppy kindergarten and socialization class when my puppy was 2 1/2 month old at the Chatsworth location with Kathryn and Kelsey. At first I was hesitant to go because the drive was about 30minutes away. But since they offer a free trial class with no obligation to enroll, I said why not try it right? It is an indoor place, means less distraction and the trainers were both very kind, fun and knowledgeable. My puppy was a little overwhelmed in the beginning but the trainers came up to me and immediately gave us instruction on how to make it fun for Yoshi(my puppy). As a new owner, i was thankful for all their advice and tips on working with him. It is an organized training and socialization at the same time, where they do 10-15minutes training then about 15 minutes of playtime for 75minutes. It's so funny because, I would say that it helped me more than it helped Yoshi! Yoshi graduated his kindergarten class last Sunday We are looking forward and hoping to take more classes with Kathryn and Kelsey even if I have to drive 30miles away(they offer a class 5minutes away from my house). He now enjoys seeing other people and playing with other dogs, listens to us when we give commands. We are so happy with Karma dog training. Also thanks to Jeff with his excellent communication and quick email responses. So happy and thankful to be part of your class.

The first couple times we used Sitter4Paws we had a really great experience with the sitters that were assigned to our senior, diabetic cat. Last year, my mother unexpectedly passed away, and our regular cat sitter was unavailable for half of the trip home. We booked Sitter4Paws the second half of the trip, and let them know about the circumstances and requested sitters that had seen Jodie before so that we could rest easy during a very difficult time. Of course we know that can't always be accommodated due to scheduling, so for the first visit a new sitter came to see Jodie. On the evening of my mother's passing, we got a text from Sitter4Paws that the sitter felt he may have made a mistake with our cat's insulin dosage. It was revealed to us that instead of giving her her normal 2.25 unit dose, he gave her 22.5 units - ignoring the taped off/labeled syringes, our explicit written instructions in the app, and additional photos/diagrams of what a full syringe should look like. Thank god he realized his mistake, otherwise our cat would have slowly died alone in our apartment - and this would have happened immediately after losing my mom. I understand mistakes can happen, but the fact that a sitter was uncertain with potentially life-threatening medication if administered improperly and didn't even think to reach out to us first was quite shocking. Sitter4Paws took full responsibility, admitted their mistake, said they would take steps to make sure something like this would never happen again, and covered her 4 day ER stay, but it never should have gotten to that point. Again - we did have great sitters who took care of our cat wonderfully - but the uncertainty of who you can get especially with medication involved means that we can no longer recommend this service with confidence.

I want the best for my puppies, so I asked so many different people where and how they trained their dogs. I received a few suggestions, but decided to do my own search...and I'm glad I did. Leo (Owner) and his amazing team of trainers TRULY care about the pups they train. Leo came to my home and wanted to meet me and my pups before I had to decide on making any decisions. After sitting down with him for about half an hour, I knew I found what I was looking for: Someone who wants me to have healthy and happy dogs. I signed up for the in-home training at first which is Leo coming to the house and training me on how to train my puppies (Archie and Charlie just turned 6 months and started with Leo and his team when they were 4.5). Very quickly, I realized I could not handle training both these puppies the way they needed to be trained. I discussed with Leo and decided to do a Board & Train. I like the schedule because I get to take the puppies on the weekends to spend time with me. Don't get me wrong, you NEED to train your pups on the weekends, but it's worth it and FUN.
