I have been a client of Karoline's for a number of years. She is just terrific. Not only is she a great barber/stylist, but she is simply a wonderful person. She makes you feel like a friend, and, indeed, all her clients are friends of hers. Her new shop is very inviting and comfortable. You don't mind waiting for a few minutes (which is a rare occurence for me) because everyone is participating in a conversation or watching TV together. Karoline has created a community and a shop that is like what a neighborhood barber shop used to be, except it's not in the past but we have it now. Karol is the best! I've been going to her for 4 years now and my wife likes how well she does my hair that she won't let me go anywhere else! I'm so happy for Karol that she's been able to open her own shop!! By the way, a few years ago I brought my daughter with me (who needed her bangs trimmed) and now both of my little girls go to her. Karol is the best. She was my father's barber and my father is practically bald so I was not sure how much his recommendation was worth but I was not disappointed. It's one of the best haircuts I've received in the last ten years at half the price of my previous barber. Whenever I'm back in town I'll make sure to have Karol cut my hair. read more

Karol has moved locations and this is as good as it gets. She's the best barber in town (clean cuts, will listen if you want to try something new, and uses the blade at the end to clean up the neck and behind the ears). Her shop is quaint and fits her perfectly. She's gotten rid of the old radio and now has cable TV. read more

I moved to Minnesota seven years ago and make it back to Chicago a few times a year. I actually plan my travel to coordinate getting my hair cut by Karol. My teenage sons and I have been going to Karol for about 10 years. She recently left Jerry's in Wilmette to open her own shop in Kenilworth. She is great: cheerful, flexible, and gives good haircuts. Prices are very reasonable ($18 for adults). Highly recommended. read more
