The place is well decorated, has a great attitude and a welcoming staff. The haircuts were fantastic. The staff knew exactly what they are doing and they do it well. I highly recommend North Shore Barber Shop in Wilmette. The shop has a very laid back and welcoming atmosphere. The music and general vibe is extremely relaxing, and puts you at ease. The barbers are exceptionally skilled and meticulous in their work, and have the ability to cut hair to many different styles. In addition, they offer many other services, including beard and mustache trimming. Ghassan, the owner, has been cutting my hair for well over three years, and I have never been disappointed, as he takes great pride in his work. It is astonishing how someone can be a barber and not understand what "keeping it longer on the bangs" means. If you want a specific style they are clearly incapable of doing that, would not recommend. read more

Tried this place as my normal person wasn't available on short notice. Ended up with a bacterial infection from poorly sanitized tools. When I mentioned this to a coworker they told me I'm not the first person this has happened to, and said they barbers only in name, but are not licensed. read more

Jason from Syria did an awesome job with my shave and a haircut. The combo was $75. He doesn't speak much English, but he knew exactly what I wanted when we communicated with hand gestures and broken English. I was very impressed with how he knew I wanted him to get everything off of me all the way down to the skin with my high and tight fade, and went over the area with the blade after the machine a couple times to make sure it was completely smooth. He says he has been shaving with a blade for 20 years. If you need a skilled barber like this in the area, I would recommend him for a traditional hot towel straight razor shave and a haircut. read more
