Yep another gashaus review, these places are everywhere and so far haven't been disappointed with the food or service. The frankfurters are bomb, make sure you ask for senf (tasty yellow mustard) with it otherwise it'll feel like something is missing. The goulash is just ok, I've had better close by with less fat. This is my favorite place for leberknödelsuppe (liver dumpling soup) the broth is mildly addicting and the dumpling is huge, it's dense, the way I like it. They have a fine dining area off to the left if you want a quieter ambience, the staff is friendl every time I been comic here, since 2015. If your going gashaus hoping put this on your list, it really is a hidden gem in Upper Austria.

While the younger employees are nice, the owner is abrasive and dismissive. After looking through me for three days she barked at me at checkout when I wanted to pay with a US debit card (which is accepted literally everywhere in Austria) and tried to lecture me "how things are done in Austria" and about credit card fees (not applicable in this situation -- or if so, then I would have appreciated a friendlier tone). Hospitality tanks when the business knows they don't need to provide good customer service to individuals because they'll get a steady stream of tourists anyway due to their desirable location. But there are other options in this village and I won't support a business that does not value each customer equally and treats an interaction with a guest as purely transactional. Also, the entire hotel has an unpleasant smell (somewhere between stale, fishy cooking smells and cleaning product) and the food at the restaurant was mid at best.
