Have collected Kate's work since her days in Atlanta. Our pieces continue to please and inspire us! We still see new things in them daily.

ARTY ADVENTURES…read more Discovered this funky, boho space in Valley Village when a friend was sharing one of her hilarious 15-minute stories here. Loved the hippy-dippy vibe, the resident dove, the roomy seating and the low lights. There are all kinds of creative happenings here, but if you want to be emotionally moved and entertained, check out the incredible Story Salon on specific Friday nights for about $10. Doors open at 7PM, and the show begins at 7:30PM. Four people presented their tales for fifteen minutes each. On most Wednesdays at 7:30PM, you can also catch a variety of folks trying out their 5-minute pieces. You never know who will perform, and there are all kinds of complimentary snacks. Hit the parlor for an arty evening.

I highly recommend Merritt and her team and to check out the events they have going on here. The studio has a positive light and energy there - so conducive for being creative. I'll definitely be back. Thank you for a creating an incredible event filled with so much love, fun, and laughter.

I didn't even know the artist's name, but Lynne's eye and passion for art made the impossible happen. I was lucky enough to purchase the piece directly from the artist, and naturally brought it to Decor Art Galleries for framing. The result is a stunning, elegantly framed work I've been longing to reclaim for years. I'm so grateful to Lynne for her kindness, intuition, and love of art and local history. She helped me pick the perfect frame with matching textures and highlights and the entire process was efficient and joyful. I highly recommend working with her and her lovely staff, Decor Art Galleries is a treasure!

Lynne has an immense collection of photos that anyone can find appreciation in. We came to her looking specifically for old photographs of the Hollywood and West Hollywood area. After selecting two prints, we used Lynne's custom framing services and have to say they're a real treat and always a conversation starter when people come to our home. We also had a historic California state flag framed and the outcome was incredible. We had no idea how to go about framing a flag since it needs adhesive to be held in place. She took care of everything. Regarding pricing, we did the framing almost two years ago and I neither recall it being expensive nor cheap. In all honesty though, the framing came out so immaculate that we were happy to pay for the quality. Not sure why it took us this long to write a review but just wanted to make this place known since it's a real gem in Studio City.

Also, it fosters community, hosting monthly art exhibits which local artists can submit to. The prices are very reasonable. The staff are helpful and kind. Each month's exhibit has a theme, and there's always an opening reception. Unlike many art shows, Carter Sexton's shows don't ask for money just to submit your work. Only if your work is accepted and you choose to participate do you pay a modest fee ($15) which is a great deal, because the shop clearly spends a lot of time making placards for each piece with the artist's name and mini-bio, and then hanging the work. You can sell your exhibited work and/or sell prints of it. I'm so grateful for the community this place fosters!

When I saw the work, I was shocked by how sloppy, rushed, and low quality it looked. This was not professional work and not something any business should hand to a customer. I explained that I was unhappy with the quality and asked for my money back because I could not use this canvas for my client. Instead of trying to fix the problem, they refused and kept saying, "This is how we do it," and that they already spent time, labor, and materials on it. They acted like there was nothing wrong with the work at all. What made the experience even worse was the attitude and disrespect. Instead of helping or apologizing, I was told to leave the store. I also took photos of the canvas so people can judge the quality for themselves. I would not recommend this place if you expect professionalism, quality workmanship, or respectful customer service.

I knew I needed something outside of the house that would allow me to focus and have a mental break from the demands of my new life with a baby. From the first class, I painted something I wanted to hang on my wall. Susan's style is unstructured in the sense that there is not a formal topic presented every week. But she takes time with each student during the course of the class so her instruction is extremely customized and individually tailored to each person. She also knows when a student is getting stuck and encourages us to keep going even if we aren't sure about what we are doing. She always says, "oil is very forgiving," and "you can't mess it up." She does stress the importance of the initial drawing and encourages us to follow the same process with each new painting from priming the canvas to completing the drawing in charcoal. Over the last several months, I have seen new students start who, like me, have never picked up a paint brush. Everyone becomes an artist with Susan's encouragement and help. This class is also a lovely community - we all encourage each other and get excited when someone completes a work. I can't imagine starting my Saturday without this class.
